Super Wanderung, toller Blick auf Mt. Rainier obwohl es sehr dunstig war mit eigentlich mieser Sicht. Stetig ansteigend aber unkompliziert zu laufen.

Beautiful views and good incline!

great short hike but if you're more ambitious you'll see a branch off to the Eastside trail as you head to the Grove. steady incline on a nice path that 3.5 miles in will take you to an incredible waterfall and footbridge. Eastside is empty!

just made it to the end and its beautiful!!

Beautiful!

The first half mile of the trail was buggy but after that the breeze kept them at bay. The trail is very well maintained but very rocky. Walking sticks are very helpful. The view of Mount Rainier smacks you in the face. To see Paradise from this trail shows us how small we really are compared to the volcano. On a clear day, as you cross over the saddle supposedly you can see Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens. I only saw a glimpse of Adams but we could see the town of Packwood. Below Adams and to the left. We didn't go beyond the saddle.

trail running

Nice run... nice and peaceful trail. Some of the parts were narrow and I had to wait for bicyclist to go through, but that is really not anything to complain about. My biggest complaint was that I heard many small caliber gunshots at the very beginning of the trail. I no longer heard any closer to the falls, just at the beginning of the trail. Based off of the name, I was expecting a nice run to a beautiful waterfall… But that’s not the case. The “falls“ were so small that it is possible to even miss it. I heard some running water hiked down a baby trail and saw it. If you are looking for a nice waterfall, the nicest in the area is Tumwater Falls. If you are looking for a nice hike or trail run, this is the place.

Closed because of a forest fire

Did this hike earlier this week. This was an ok hike. Cool suspension bridge crossing about half way to the grove. I expected more ancient trees there and was a little disappointed. The trail was extremely busy for a Monday during a non holiday weekend.

Nice trail with Crystal clear water next to it. Took us about 45 min to do the whole loop stopping and taking pictures. Easy elevation and great for kids

I hiked up toward the Margaret McKenny Campground and loop back around to the Mima Falls. Not much of a visual hike. The day before, there were horse events, so the trial was riddled with horse poo. It was hot and nasty that morning and the water fall was terrible. The only good thing about the hike was at the top you had a clear look at Mt. Rainier.

This is a great, little hike. But be prepared.
There are two sections. The upper section goes to the viewing platform and is a 1-2 minute walk down a moderate hill. That's the part that's super kid and dog friendly.
The second section is very steep and a little tricky. It's not a difficult hike if you are experienced, but you're climbing up/down using root systems and a couple of ropes (left by hikers) as anchors. It requires a lot of focus (so I don't suggest bringing a dog) because a misstep means an injury. Be sure to wear traction boots on the second trail. A woman fell and badly broke her leg whie we were there and had to be rescued.
The falls are definitely worth the effort. Just be sure to take care. Oh, and the two trails aren't marked Upper and Lower, so pay attention and make sure you're where you want to be.

Great trail for mtb! U just need to know where your goin' it is easy to get lost; like we were.
I like how long the trail is.

backpacking

I did not make it all the way to the lake due to lots of smoke from the wildfire in Hamma Hamma not too far away, and very hot. I would classify this as a more difficult hike carrying an overnight backpack. Trail was in good condition, some pesky wasps circling my head for much of the hike. I look forward to trying it again when it cools down and the smoke clears out.

Great trail! The only downfall is it having potholes. And, don't bring your 55 yr. old dad.

This is a fun hike. At the top you get some great views.

Loved this hike. Our gps said 6.9 miles. Pretty easy but enough to keep it interesting and keep you puffing a little if you move at a good pace. Loved the shaded forest, pretty bridges and views. Then the top is gorgeous! We swam in the lake after lunch and had a blast. Loved it! Highly recommend for beginners.

enjoyed this hike

Nice hike to a small waterfall. Also good for mountain biking.

Epic views & a good trail. I loved the alpine meadows and wildflowers everywhere. It’s a beautiful hike.

Fine hike, but the falls were tiny and not a worthwhile endpoint. The “day use area” by the falls is little more than a picnic bench.

Great hike! Beautiful trees and creek. A nice place to hang out by the water. Going over the bridge was a little scary at first but fun! I thought it would be a higher drop off but it wasnt. Nice scenery and easy trail to do. I enjoyed it! Great for kids and not too hard.

Drive across the bridge and park in the small lot on the left. Walk back over the bridge and on the right hand side (on the other side of the guard rail) you will find a steep hill. There is a cable attached with "handles" to help you get down and back up. Head left at the bottom of the hill.
It's fairly flat unless you decide to take one of the side trails (there's what's left of an abandoned 57 or 58 Fury at the bottom of one of the side trails). Even with the dry summer we've had there was mucky mud in a few places but nothing horrible. At a certain point you will come to a Y in the trail and apparently you head left (or up) to see the old school. We accidently went the other way...oops.
Supposedly it's kid and dog friendly but you would probably have to carry them down the steep hill from the main road. Also, there are nettles if you wander off the trail (and some along side of it) so be careful.
Bring water and comfy shoes with good traction and enjoy the outdoors!

It’s a nice lake to end up at, but compared to Mt Ellinor and Staircase, it’s not quite as scenic. the actual hiking seemed like a B-level of mt ellinor which has much better views.

We really loved this one.Just watch for rocks and roots at the beginning of the trail.the board walk is after the bridge.

Great trail, the lenght was great. Just be aware of other people.

Falls are spectacular but the trail is so hard to find. Once you do it's an easy trail down to the platform. Lots of of shoot trails are closed because of erosion. All but a few respected the boundaries. The parking/pull of is wide and identified by a rocky slope. The trail blends into the forest right from the shoulder of the road across the parking lot.

The beginning of the trail is really hard to get to and very steep. Once you get on the trail it's very nice.

Pretty waterfall if you just want to go for a photo.

The best views of Rainier I’ve found, but in the heat of summer the bugs were out in force. You may need to reapply bug repellent and sunscreen. We met groups of all ages, but had plenty of trail time to ourselves as well. Definitely recommend trek poles for this hike, especially for people with bad knees.
