by far my most favorite hike. trail was easy to follow and the climb to the top was well worth it. hike has a tons of rocks in case if you want to play "floor is lava". if you're facing the restroom trail head is to the left.

So beautiful. I got to go back! Got here too late.

This place is beautiful and peaceful! It starts off at a waterfall. Looks a little to dangerous to get in. There are lots of nats and mosquitos since you’re walking along a pretty little river but, my bug spray from Walmart worked just fine. I fell in love with the meadow , there’s a wood walkway that takes you through it. We recorded 6.8 miles because we walked the whole thing and went around a extra loop at the end(by accident). My son is 9, it was his first hike and he did very well! This place is definitely a must see. (Also someone stole my go-pro from the bridge please return it

great hike and excellent fishing. snow in the spring and multple water falls.

Decent amount of parking. Was warm but not too hot. Trails aren't marked too well but is easy to follow. A few spots to fill up on water on the way up. Lots of amazing views all around.

Beautiful, scenic hike. There are paid parking lots but there is a small parking lot next to the chamber of commerce which offers free parking. The trail can be accessed at that area near the picnic tables.

Loved this hike!!!

Such a beautiful hike surrounded by towering granite walls and the sound of the river accompanying us along the way. Very easy walk although we recorded 4.9 miles and 387 ft of elevation. A minor negative were the gnats that seemed immune to bug spray. Highly recommend this hike that all fitness levels can enjoy. 8/4/2018

Lovely walk around the lake. The trail is mostly dirt or gravel and mostly tucked away, with a few paved sections. Shady and lots of opportunity to get down to the shoreline.

So easy and so spectacular! Wildlife is very present here so be careful. Definitely a must see when the sun is rising or setting though.

My favorite hike of our vacation. Beautiful scenery.

We arrived at 8 AM on a Thursday at the end of July and the parking lot was half full.

Just lovely. My dog and I hiked this trail, starting from the horse corral at Big Meadow Trail head. The trail is quite exposed, with no clouds in the sky, which made for a warm incline. There are some shaded spots to rest along the way, that my dog took full advantage of. The trail itself is well maintained. When we arrived at the lake, we immediately dipped our toes in. The view is incredible! Shortly after we arrived, rain clouds rolled in, which was such a nice reprieve from the heat in Three Rivers. It probably took us a bit longer than other hikers considering my dog needed to stop at every shaded area in order to cool off a bit before trekking on, but the hike was super easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend wearing some sort of coverage, or re-applying sunscreen throughout the hike. The only place I got mildly burnt was by my backpack straps where my sweat cancelled out my sunscreen.

Such a beautiful trail! Well groomed! Beautiful wild flowers surrounding all over + the lovely sound of the rushing water. And then the most spectacular views at the lake! This is a must trail for all!

Backpacked to Weaver Lake for a place to spend the night; you don’t have to reserve camping there so it’s an easy spot if you need someplace to stay.
The hike itself was fairly easy, and great views along the way. The lake is beautiful, and I saw about 50 trout jumps that morning as they were snatching some bugs. If you climb up the rocky slope on the east of the lake you get some amazing views. Check out the photos.

Great trail! Easy with kids. Absolutely gorgeous views. We stopped along the way and our boys drank water from the stream, swam in the lakes and wadded in the streams. It was a great time.

Gorgeous lake, beautiful scenery, easy hike, great fishing what more could you ask for?

If your close by, and want a little stretch/stroll, this is your best bet. Seems like a lot of locals walk the lake. Most parking is paid parking ($8-9). Looks like free parking in at least one spot (see track). The lake is swimmable, and again it appears a lot of locals hang out there. Looks good for kids. Lots of Toys, and activity structures in the water, and seems safe for kids (complete with life guards). Again, you pay for entrance. There is a par course in some of the areas.

it's a beautiful hike into God's country.

just love this place . it's a beautiful hike into God's country.

Even though the weather forecasted high of 73, definitely felt like 85 with the strong sun. Don’t let the weather’s temperature fool you. Roundtrip 7 miles from Big Meadow trailhead. Lots of horse poo on the trail so beware. Either go with long sleeves/pants or wear repellent because you will get bit. Steep climbing up but manageable. There were quite a bit of people on the trail but nothing too crazy. Definitely recommend either taking a lightweight chair or hammock to rest while @ the lake. Be sure to take water shoes/sandals if you’re planning on getting in. Water was cool not cold, great to jump into.

I saw a sign with madlock on it but no flower lake sign. It was a moderate but beautiful hike for me

Nice easy loop, but under construction when we went. Parking is $10 for the day in the public lots, but you can find other places along the road to park. Pretty crowded, so it’s not the cleanest of places. There is a bathroom along the loop, and bins for trash/recyclables at several points so not the place to go if you’re looking to get lost in the woods.

This is a wonderful, easy trail to walk. You have a lot of gorgeous scenery and views. I like walking this trail with my dogs several times a week, I have always felt safe so I don’t mind going without my husband. You can park along the road in certain spots or pay to park in the lots. There is also a dog park with a small dog section and a drinking fountain bowl for dogs. I like to stop in there to allow my dogs to roam off leash for a while. There are plenty of trash and recycle bins along the trail so there’s no excuse to leave any thing behind. Also some exercise stations through out and a bathroom on the north west (I believe) part of the lake.

Beautiful trail, and we were the only ones on it. But even with long sleeves and bug spray, we were walking in a cloud of gnats, esp the first mile, which took a lot of enjoyment away, especially for my kids (6 and 10)

Also you really can't access the creek except at crossings as the embankment is pretty steep

Great hike. My friend, who is just getting into hiking, did this hike yesterday just for the day! We made it to the lake in an hour and a half, taking little rest stops here and there. We stayed by the lake for a couple of hours and then headed back down! I recommend hiking early in the morning, at least during these summer months, because it definitely makes a difference! Lots of wild flowers and butterflies! Beautiful. Great workout!

easy and beautiful!! lots of mosquitos around sun set!! Bring mosquito spray cause we got ate up! Flat hike around the Meadow... great for kids and elderly.

beautiful and easy walk

I loved this trail!! There were so many bugs and mosquitoes so taking bug spray is a must!!! The end of the trail is amazing, their is so many ladybugs, it was pretty cool seeing that.... overall pretty good trail. The only thing i wanna say is, when driving up to the the trailhead like the last 2 miles in order to get their you gotta drive through this unpaved road and its pretty rocky!!! I don’t advice to take a low vehicle

Only went as far as Heart Lake. Very scenic stroll without any drastic elevation climbs. Great trail to do with the kids. There is a lot more traffic than the trail to Ruby Lake/Mono Pass but not oppressive by any means.

Fished for an hour at Heart Lake but was unsuccessful. Was worth it for the views alone though.

Have been using this trail for 18 years because it is dog friendly and worth every bit of the climb to Weaver Lake. Our GPS recorded 7.6 miles from the trailhead at Big Meadow to Weaver Lake and just over 1250 feet of elevation change.
