Lovely little hike, not too short, not too long, not too busy, with a perfectly beautiful waterfall at the top!

Prepare to get wet! Fantastic hike along and in a creek. Beautiful scenery as you hike through a canyon, climb over a huge log jam and wade through the water to reach a cascading waterfall at the end of your hike. Highly recommend!

Good quick easy hike.

Such a fun hike with a stunning payoff! We arrived at 7:30 AM and were the only ones at the falls for almost an hr, so arrive early to beat the crowds. On the right side near the falls is a rocky trail. Follow it and then carefully ramble your way over the rocks to get to the back of the falls for a tremendous view!

Best hike on the mountain!

Great for families. Beautiful falls.

Trail Is Still Closed At This Time. The Historic Columbia River Highway is Closed Until Further Notice. This Includes Trails Between Bridal Veil Falls and Multnomah, and Trails Between Multnomah and Ainsworth State Park. The Road Is Only Open To State Troopers, Game and WildLife Patrolmen, and Residents That Live On That Road. Anyone Caught Trying To Hike Said Trails Are Fined. This Is All Due To The Bad Fire They Had Last Year And Several Told Me They Aren't Sure When It Should Be Open. One Trooper Told Me It's Looking Like It Will Be June 2019. :( That Means Oneonta George, Oneonta Falls, Horsetail Falls, Ponytail Falls, Larch Mountain Overlook, Fairy Falls, & Wahkeena Falls Are All Closed Until Further Notice. If You Are Looking For Alternatives, You Can Look Into Multnomah Falls & Trails, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Vista House. You Can Also Take A Drive To Ramona Falls.

beautiful waterfall

This was my favorite hike in Oregon! The trail follows the river which kept the air temperature pleasantly cool and provides nice background noise. The falls are beautiful and you can even go behind the waterfall! Do this hike!!!!

This hike was beautiful throughout and the falls were better than I could have expected! A quick nice day hike for those short on time. The drive there had great views of Mount Hood, and the drive back to Portland is a great opportunity to stop at the gorge. Make sure to stop ahead of time (like in Zigzag) to get a $5 forest day pass.

A fun trail with a beautiful waterfall at the end.

Cool little hike that has some pretty cool stuff along the way. You get some cool views of cliffs, nice little pools and rapids along the creek, some minor rock climbing and a waterfall. There are also 2 cool bridges. I really enjoyed this trail. I saw many people of all ages with dogs and children, so it’s good for everyone. Definitely check it out.

Is the trail open ? I see a lot of recent reviews. We fly into Portland the 13th next month and this is number 1 on our list.

Great workout! The waterfall at the end is amazing. If you climb over the rocks, you can go behind the waterfall. Like someone else has stated, trail is 4 miles round trip, signs at the trailhead say 2 miles to waterfall.

This is a super easy, short hike! The waterfall is gorgeous.

Be sure to have the correct parking pass!

Easy hike, great view.

Great hike to do with kids! The rocks at the end are a little tricky, but the view from the waterfall is incredible.

Great Trail and definitely worth making it to the end! Much easier coming back than going in but a lovely day hike with family.

Went last year in a long overdue rating. Definitely go if it opens again!

great hike. its 4 miles round trip though not 3.3 fyi! not hard though!

Great Trail and definitely worth making it to the end! Much easier coming back than going in but a lovely day hike with family.

Hiked this waterfall today it was one of the hottest days of the summer so far it was a nice waterfall with a nice spray some nice cool spots along the trail. I would do this one again.

We made it he hike fairly easily. The falls are worth every step. Once there you must go behind your he fall and experience this with a nice lunch.

The trail is closed as the logs and rocks have blocked access for walking, this is what we were told when asked at visitor center in Multnomah Falls. We didn't go any further to check but trusted that old guy.

We’re new to hiking and took our girls (7 & 9). They were starting to moan a bit towards the top, but once they saw the waterfall all complaining stopped. There is one part closer to the falls where I think some rocks fell so they are directing everyone to a lower path. When trying to get back up to the main path it was steep and the dirt was very loose which was challenging with younger kids. Overall, the falls make it all worth it.

My absolute favorite hike in the Gorge. Because of the easy access its nearly always obnoxiously crowded, but if you get there early (7-8am) you can usually get in to the waterfall before the hoards arrive. The log jam to start makes me feel like a kid again, clambering over obstacles and scooting up rocks on my butt. You will get wet on this hike, I recommend water shoes (not beach water shoes but hiking sandals, Keens or similar) as the entire gorge floor is rock covered.
Absolutely stunning if you can get there before the crowds.

Awesome family hike, and a great hike if you have dogs on a warm day - as there are plenty of places for dogs to get water.

Beautiful views. Busy but not overly crowded.

Great hike. Moderate difficulty. Worth the trek.

Loved the streaming water along the pathway and magnificent falls at end to view as we ate our lunch!
