Great hike, beautiful falls. Well marked

BE AWARE ICY TRAIL!! Wanted to hike larch mountain trail on 12/8/18, but signs at multnomah said it was closed from here, then I attempted to hike to the top of the falls, which I've never done and again the trail was way too icy... I think it was at switchback 2 or 3 out of 11 long switchbacks that I gave up, with every step even with my trekking pole I was slipping with each step. I'll have to try another time. There was also freezing rain when I was here.

Hiked on Saturday 12/8. The packed snow in the paved parts of the trail near the parking slots are pretty slick, and microspikes are recommended.

the hike was really lovely! not too strenuous, though there is a hill. I was not so impressed with the spring themselves; two of the eight were out of order and we did a lot of waiting around before deciding to bail on our dip. people who were ahead of us in line had to make trips up and down the site with five gallon buckets to fill their tub. seemed like a lot of work for an experience I was hoping would be relaxing. so we went home dry. maybe better to go on a week day!

Loved coming here! so beautiful! a trip with remembering for a long time! it was a bit chilly when I went there, but I had a warm jacket on, so that took care of it.... make sure to bundle up when going on a cold day. it was packed, but we found some parking! so picturesque! a must go. it's practically nothing to go up to the bridge, but still wear good shoes. Have fun!

Amazing walk to see a variety of waterfalls, with multiple ones being able to walk behind (you do get a little wet). The walk itself is pretty easy and trail is super easy to follow. The cost into the park is now $5 but it’s definitely worth it

Nice easy walk and a beautiful waterfall! Was pretty busy there even on a weekday in late November. Definitely recommend going early to miss the crowds

Truly a gem of a trail. Views are amazing and there is some fun biodiversity in the forests/groves/exposed areas that the trail takes you through. It culminates with amazing views of Short Sand Beach and the Pacific.

By far a gem of a hike. Even post burn.

Was easy and fun hike. It’s pretty muddy right now when you get to the overlook from the top of the falls. My dog loved this hike and the switch backs tired him out.

It was brisk, so there weren’t as many people on the trail as expected. Trail was clear, only a tiny bit of snow here and there. We didn’t go into the springs, not what we went for truthfully. Not sure we’d go back. Sad to see some trash at the trailhead and up at the springs as well.

The view is the best part once you get to the falls

Hiked this today in the later afternoon. It was lightly snowing at the top which made for a cool experience. I didn’t get to see the epic views due to the clouds/snowing but as I hiked back down it cleared out for a beautiful sunset and you could see the ocean.

The parking fee is 5 dollars now, but still worth it!

A fairly challenging hike with one of the most beautiful alpine lakes at the top! Did this one a few years back and remember really loving it.

the trail is open to the top of the falls. fire damage evident, lots of new growth on the forrest floor.

I loved this hike! So worth it for the view. Great for dogs. Be prepared for a good bit of mud.

Trail is mostly open again! Beautiful hike. Lots of waterfalls.

Super cool bit of Oregon history here

Went this last Sunday, it was raining and I came out muddy and wet but all worth it! I drive 2 wheel Hondai Tucson and took the road down as far as I felt comfortable then walked. Felt good about my stopping point. The last mile of the road is larger rocks and comfortable in a higher clearance Subaru but I didn’t want to chance it. The Hike is great once you get to the trail head. Stayed Left, very steep but ropes right where you needed them. Loved walking along the river, glad I had boots, lots of rocks to get they but the Waterfall is mind blowing!

If you start at Indian Beach- all the best views are basically at the beginning.

OFFICIALLY OPEN AS OF 11-24-2018! It’s fascinating to look at all the burned trees against the fresh green forest floor. There are many, many rocks on the trail though so be careful. The trail was very muddy today. The falls are still as beautiful as ever. Be careful and look out for landslides/rock slides and flash floods as it is a burn area.

Road to the trail is kinda hectic. alot of pot holes and big sharp rocks. asides from that I made it down to the gate in my honda crv. If u make it all the way to the end of the road the hike goes from 5.3 down to like 1 1/2 miles from the gate. stay to the left when u hike down the trail. STAY TO THE LEFT! if u don't want to climb down a cliff.

This is a great hike. There was Snow in the last .5 miles, but the trail is still easy to follow. There are not too many views before the top, and the Falls always underwhelm me, but Lake Serene is just beautiful, and the tall cliffs that surround it are so magnificent. The sound of snow cascading off the cliffs sound like thunder.
It is a hard hike, but worth the effort. My only reason for the 4 star is because it is a very popular hike.

Too many people to enjoy anything. Few had any trail etiquette or adequate shoes for the conditions. This made the hike unsafe, with folks blocking the trail or slipping and sliding into us. We couldn't get off the trail fast enough.

This hike is special. It’s All downhill from the parking lot to the beach. Steep in areas but nothing too challenging. The beach was sparsely populated. We relaxed on the beach before hiking back up to catch the sunset from the top. Just a phenomenal place to watch the sunset.

Fantastic day hike - the lake was stunning with the sun coming through the peaks of the mountains. Bridal falls is an incredible bonus of this hike...trails were in good condition all the way up, but did get a bit slick towards the top as they turn into mostly rock.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

We did this today and it was a cool and crisp day. The trail definitely gets more steep after the falls, but it's worth it to make it to the beautiful lake. Bring layers! Got hot on the way up from the exertion, but the lake area was very cold and windy. There was ice in places with some very slippery rocks near the top, which slowed our pace. I recommend poles for this very rocky trail.

Only did about 3/4 a mile each way due to it getting dark, but it was easy with great beach views at some points!
