Love this trail. Hiked twice — once in the spring and once in the middle of summer. Would like to try again in the fall. Can be very crowded, but the falls are breathtaking and worth it. Good idea to bring bug spray on this hike during the summer.

Boulder field is a really interesting geological anonymity that I highly recommend you check out if you havent yet. Couple of reason for the lower rating though, 1. there is a gravel road that leads right up to boulder field, so its pretty guaranteed that the field will be packed on any given nice weather day, and that results in there being higher than usual trash and even some graffiti on the rocks. 2. Its really close to a highway so theres high traffic noise for most of the hike. Again I highly recommend you check it out but after doing it twice myself I doubt ill be returning.

Beautiful trail. I have been here 4 times in the past month,3 of them with my 2 boys, 4 & 6 yrs old. We loved it, what fun. The trek to about an extra hour with the boys as opposed to going it alone. Fairly easy over all but a few tricky spots where water crossed the trail, but nothing a good pair of boots can't handle. Bring you walking stick also it will come in handy at points. Happy hiking!

Ricketts Glen is by far the best trail I’ve ever been to. All of the waterfalls are amazing , a must see for everyone.. Get your camera ready this place is breathtaking. I recommend good shoes and a walking stick!

This is obviously a great hike, though it can be crowded at times. Awesome falls just about the entire hike. It took us about 4 hours to do the loop on a less crowded day. It can be slippery so use caution. Must do hike and IMHO late October early November is the best time.

Quick easy in and out. Beautiful views.

Beautiful scenic overlook

Trail is beautiful! Falls vary in size but all are great. Just hiked today and leaves made for slippery rocks and trails but the scenery was perfect! Great fall hike for sure. I will definitely return. My German Shepherd who is almost 11 years old pretty much ran this whole trail which means I did as well. Also lots of detours into the water for fun! Great trail for dogs (if larger in size and in good shape) lots of well marked trails and plenty of spots to step aside to let people pass. Highly recommend this trail! Experience it because it's worth it!

The walk in was kind of boring... the first 3 quarters of it is just a flat state game lands road. Then the last quarter is a flat trail through the woods. Easy. Nice fall colors right now. The overlook is amazing!!! Just breathtaking. You can hear the rushing water of the river down below.

A beautiful trail, the waterfalls and "tubs" are fantastic. The overall nearly 2 mi. hike was fairly simple though there were a few spots where the trail was crossed by running water which made it a bit tricky. Nothing a good pair of boots couldn't overcome though. I also had my 4 & 6 yr old boys with me so that made it a bit more challenging. None the less it was an easy trek and the boys and I had a blast, especially my little guy he was so gung ho and never wavered, taking point the whole time. So far we have returned once since then and I am heading there now, just waiting in the drive thru for coffee!!!! Safe trekking!
P.S. bring your walking stick it'll come in handy.

Get there early because it is a narrow trail that gets very crowded

Nice easy hike. 2 waterfalls about a quarter mile opposite each other from the parking area. Walk along the Lehigh Gorge River for a very.leisurely walk. Grandkids loved playing at the bottom of Buttermilk Falls. Gets busy on weekends with bikers coming down from White Haven during the summer. We go about once a month even during the winter and see something different evrrytime.

very nice hike. easy for all ages

My wife and I love walking here, you can make it as easy or moderate as you want. Just hike near the creek if you want a nice easy walk, or do the whole loop for a bigger hike. Hiking down the tubs area can get moderate or difficult for some.

Our car was broken into once, so be aware not to leave things in sight.

Very cool topography at the boulder field.

heavily packed on weekends.

This is one of my favorite hikes that I’ve ever done!! It’s amazing to see so many waterfalls in one day! Each big & beautiful! Easy trail. Don’t miss the little red lizards!

Loved the canyon Vista and the rock garden made us kids again.

This is one of my favorite hikes! It is very crowded during the summer because people swim at the base of the falls, but the trails are never overpacked. The rocks can get very slippery so you need to wear shoes with good traction. The views are incredible every step of the way!

This was such an amazing hike that I came back 2 days later and hiked the loop again. A must see for everyone.

kinda was worth the view but went after the rain and trail to the view very muddy wet.

Lots of water falls and natural TUBS formed from the erosion of water and gravel... trail is very steep in parts... if you don’t walk well only part of the trail will be doable... but still worth seeing.... hey.... it’s FREE!

Great hike! By top the prettiest waterfalls I’ve seen in the area. I would definitely do it again. The trail is wet and slippery with many steps so wear hiking boots but worth every step. Do the hike after some rain so much better.

There may not be a single better trail in Pennsylvania.

Wear good footwear, waterproof and good traction on wet and slippery stone. Even if it is a dry day the spray from the waterfalls, and the smaller streams that feed the main one will make the stone wet. Most of the steps are simply cut into the stone. Far more sturdy than wood and mud, but can be slippery.

Most of the hike is in a valley, keep this in mind when picking a start time, the sun will "set" early.

Wind from the valley will make it seem much colder that it is in the surrounding area.

Great trail with great views. Whole family enjoyed the hike.

Nice short (3 mile) hike. Half of it is on gravel road. The wooded part is picturesque, but part of it had turned into a stream from flooding when we were there. The trail runs through state game lands, so if it is hunting season you might consider wearing bright colors. The vista overlook is great.

I tagged road biking AND mountain biking because my buddy and I had different equipment. We were both on recumbent bikes. He had a Bachetta Ti-Aero with 23C 650 Gatorskins road tires and I had a Bachetta Giro 26 & 20” with 1.5” Kenda Kwest tires.

We rode from the Black Diamond Trailhead to Jim Thorpe.

The first 10 miles were great. Good crushed limestone base, wide and slightly downhill. The next 3 miles were a little bit rougher with some single track, muddy, slippery sections. But both of us managed just fine.

The last 10 miles again were wide and easy riding. Scenery was great, couple of small towns along the way, though we didn’t stop.

great trail for a good work out. not too strenuous and fairly easy for those in little athletic shape. view at the middle and end are well worth the hike. I'd give yourself a good 2-3 hrs to give yourself time for breaks and just taking in the scenery

Super muddy and lots of standing water on Saturday afternoon! Not crowded, really easy (but long) walk, beautiful landscape and greenery.
