Visit it in winter should be much more beautiful than other seasons as there are snow everywhere, not just around the cave.

Great hike, beautiful falls. Well marked

Such stunning views this time of the year, I was "wowing" the entire time. The recent snow makes everything look even more beautiful. Went at 7:30 am today. Didn't find any other hikers even after I was about to leave.

stunning and well maintained trail. more of a walk than a hike, but the ice caves and waterfall are gorgeous!

Nice easy walk to two beautiful waterfalls. If you catch it right the sun makes a rainbow just by the falls. Went on 3rd December and trail was a little icy and slippy so be careful. Was very quite as well only us along the trail.

as of 5 dec the road is still open. this a very pretty and easy hike. the frost is making it a bit slick but nothing to worry about. national forest pass is required or a national park pass as well.

Absolutely beautiful!

We hiked to Blue Pool on 11-26-2018. The trail is well maintained but there are rocks that you have to climb over so be aware that it’s not a flat path the whole way. IMO there could be a few more markers for the viewing outlooks....easy to walk right by when you don’t know to look for them. My watch said we did 4.3 miles, from the parking lot to Blue Pool and back but it’s mostly flat and was no problem for my kids (ages 11 & 10).

The view is the best part once you get to the falls

I didn't get to record my hike, make sure you download the map before you leave home. Really easy hike, bring layers.
went 11/30 - rainy and at times muddy.
we only went up to the ice cave, did not go into the cave. beautiful views all around.
bathrooms at ice caves TH are closed.

Great mile hike in. Ice caves were enormous! Can’t wait to check it out in the summer.

Went this last Sunday, it was raining and I came out muddy and wet but all worth it! I drive 2 wheel Hondai Tucson and took the road down as far as I felt comfortable then walked. Felt good about my stopping point. The last mile of the road is larger rocks and comfortable in a higher clearance Subaru but I didn’t want to chance it. The Hike is great once you get to the trail head. Stayed Left, very steep but ropes right where you needed them. Loved walking along the river, glad I had boots, lots of rocks to get they but the Waterfall is mind blowing!

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Trail was snow covered but easy to maneuver on. Cave was absolutely stunning. Got to see a small avalanche happen while there.

Road to the trail is kinda hectic. alot of pot holes and big sharp rocks. asides from that I made it down to the gate in my honda crv. If u make it all the way to the end of the road the hike goes from 5.3 down to like 1 1/2 miles from the gate. stay to the left when u hike down the trail. STAY TO THE LEFT! if u don't want to climb down a cliff.

Too many people to enjoy anything. Few had any trail etiquette or adequate shoes for the conditions. This made the hike unsafe, with folks blocking the trail or slipping and sliding into us. We couldn't get off the trail fast enough.

Made for a great snow hike. Nice easy 2 miles.

I live this hike. The caves are beautiful

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Short 2mi. round trip hike. The bridges are a little slick during the Winter months. Beautiful hike and the cave is breathtaking! A child friendly hike.

I’m an avid hiker and frequently complete 14-20 mile hikes with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain. This trail was poorly marked and there was not a map at the trailhead (just a poison oak warning sign). After hiking about a half mile the trail comes to a fork. The left was blocked off with rocks so we went right and there was an extremely steep, loose scree slope. I would not recommend attempting the scree without hiking boots. As this was an unplanned stop/hike and I was wearing an old pair of running shoes so I turned around. Back at the fork there were people coming off the left (blocked off) part of the trail. I started to head down that trail and could see people standing on Mitchell Point through the trees. However the trail was extremely over grown and was washed out in some places. That coupled with all of the poison oak made me decide to turn around. I would not recommend this hike. The views from the trailhead were just as good and there are better trails in the area. Now that I see the all trails map, the left trail appears to be the correct path.

Our gps said there was a road closure but that was false. Got there with no issues. At some point the cave has collapsed a large portion. see pics. There is also a huge crack on the left side of cave. Also a crack in the upper center piece of the cave. Hiking baby did not go inside the cave. I went in and walked towards the back and there is an amazing waterfall in the back of the cave. After leaving the cave went further down the trail and if you stand next to the small opening you can feel a draft like a fan. Pretty neat. Further down there is another waterfall.

The term trail is a questionable at points, but the view is definitely worth the rocky trek.

Difficult road to travers to the actual trail head unless you have an all wheel drive vehicle. We walked the road to the TH and the trail itself is not long but steep and appearing not formerly maintained. The hike is sleek with rock and covered in fallen leaves making it difficult to traverse in many areas. The pay off is well worth the jaunt with a beautiful falls. The drive to this falls is also splendid.

Great place to hike! Restrooms available. Lots of water scenes, waterfalls, and forrest to explore. Flat and easy marked trails. Dog friendly as well.

Amazing views. Idk about that 2.2 miles though. The loop took us awhile and we move at a decent pace.

An amazing all around hike! Small walk right up to the base of the falls, or a small moderate 2.0 mile loop if you’re interested in hiking the whole trail. On the trail you’ll see a second waterfall and some other beautiful sights! Hiked it on 11/7/2018, and the fall colors were really popping. Loved every bit of it!

Easy trail. The ice caves are very cool. If you go inside of them there is a waterfall at the end. Because the caves are melting the ice drips from the roof, so prepare to get wet. Bring a flashlight.

Super easy hike to the really cool caves!

steep trek after the warning sign, but the views are well worth it.
