Beautiful, and scenic.
Love taking my dog here.

Very beautiful. LOTS of people.

Best time of year to visit is in the winter! Hike in on the snow and get great views of Mount Hood.

It’s a kid friendly hiking trail.

The trail is nice. It’s a good scenic trail with lots of cool places to stop and take pictures. The only bad thing is it’s a popular trail. Once you get to the top, you’ll be fighting for places to stop and take a break or pictures. We went on a Saturday morning and we were at the top with about 50 other people who had the same idea as we did today. The parking lot fills fast and people started parking on the street before the parking lot. So, we’ll definitely go back on a Wednesday morning or something so it won’t be so crowded.

Amazing

Great hike for all age groups. If you’re not a beginner, I’d recommend trail running as well. Breathtaking views from the cliff. You can continue further if you wish as the trail continues further. Took us 3 hours from car to car including breaks. Would highly recommend for sunrise.

That was lovely!

Steep for kids, but amazing views and great lookout at the top. Mountain stream just over halfway up.

Nice hike and views on a clear day! Amazing two guys built this in 3 yrs. The hired technical guy was buried in the little cemetery east of the rock, left on hot springs rd for the rest of the story.

Nice easy stroll. Beautiful scenery. We were short on time as it was getting dark but you could easily make this trail longer by following other trails or connecting.

I've always found the hike a little boring up until the viewpoint. There are a lot of switchbacks and not a lot to see until the end. However, the view is definitely worth it! Be careful at the top!

Perfect beginners hike (I’m soooo out of shape and it was just enough to get my heart rate up), good for all age groups, GORGEOUS views and deliciously mystical in the rain. If you’re lucky (like we were) you might even see a herd of Roosevelt Elk on your drive in.

Went this morning (Saturday 10/27). Glad we got there early (~8:15) not too many people on the trail yet, but they were steadily streaming in as we left. We took ~2.5 hours with breaks at the view points. The lake isn’t really there at the moment, so the views weren’t as great, but still nice mountain shots. We thought the first big viewpoint was just as good or better than the one at the top (this may change when the lake is actually there).

Eh. Can't get near the waterfall but it's fun to see.

Definitely a touristy destination. We parked at the bottom and walked to the top as suggested, very nice.

I'd suggest going to any of the other waterfalls in the area.

This is extremely packed with tourists, and the top of the trail is closed due to fire damage.

Enjoyed

There’s a lot of switchbacks and is a little overcrowded. Otherwise, it’s a great trail!

I think it’s a little difficult lol. But I also hear it’s really easy. I’ve gone a couple times and the view is definitely worth it. Very dangerous at the top as I know many have slipped and fell at the top view..

Overcrowded. Nice view though...

Popular trail for all ages! Bring your camera and expect crowds/tourist.

Nice view at the top. Well maintained trail that is easy to walk.

Beautiful but busy. Trail is has some good spots, but more of a stroll for family.

Beautiful, easy walk with fall colors and blue skies. We took our time and just enjoyed the wildlife and friendly doggies and of course, great pictures too.

pretty much a walk in nature. beautiful trees that drape down and lots of ferns.

The view of Mt. Hood over the lake is amazing. We parked near the boat ramp so we were able to get the view and pictures right away. Then we were able to hop on the trail loop there and went around the whole lake. Mostly shaded and surrounded by woods with the lake always close by except when we came across a closure and went around a mostly unmarked trail. Was a little confusing but by keeping the lake in sight and listening for other hikers it was easy to find our way back onto the main trail. About 1.5hrs at a leisurely pace.

Highly trafficked place, many varieties of people... I went twice at night and once in the day. Seeing it in the light was so disgusting that I will never go back (and I am not a germaphobe). It is a beautiful place but it is ruined by the amount of people that flock to it. Road to hot springs is very pot holy, high clearance vehicle recommended but not needed.

@mathew Bostick- how do you know they’re not locals? You’d have to go everyday to that tourist attraction to decide wether or not they’re tourist. Are you from that trail? Born and raised on that trail?
