Awesome trail run. Nice scenic views.

This hike was a really fun one, good workout with the elevation gain. I wasn't bothered by the big parking lot at the top--some people can't hike it, let 'em live. I'm just glad I'm able to hike up to the top, and if you can as well, then I recommend this one!!

Lovely nature hike around the mountain. Climb is fairly steep. Overlook has a drive to the top which many people take instead of earning it. Pretty nice view. Limited parking around trailhead.

This is a nice trail with some decent views. It’s good for a day hike if you live nearby. Lots of people, though and not enough parking for the amount of people. Trails are well marked- you definitely won’t get lost.

The gates were closed today from the heavy rains as stated on the signs to preserve the trail and save the horses from injury. With permission, I parked at the lower end near one of the gates and hiked up towards the mountain. Trail was muddy and slick. Will come back when we dry out!

Hiked this trail, the Canal Trail, and some of the Corridor Trail and logged 8.8 miles. The trails were very slick with the Yadkin River Smud (Sand-Mud mixture) from the resent and past heavy rains. Nice area. The Bean Shoals, Canal Wall Ruins, and the River were nice to see.

Today the trails were very smuddy (Sand-Mud mixture... I made that up) from recent heavy rains. I still enjoyed my hike, I never saw another soul on this and the other trails I adventured down.

this was a great all day hike with family!

Not a bad trail. Really wish there was a bridge or crossing for the river. We only ran into one other group while hiking this part of the trail. Good addition to hiking some of the other pilot mountain trails.
We camped south of the river so hoped to start at pilot mountain and hike back to camp. No crossing the river so had to cut it short. Would hike it again for sure.

This is a fun and easy 13 mile romp through the woods, especially in the colder months. Not too many people which makes it even more fun. I will come back to this one again and again. Bring an extra pair of socks! This is the only trail that I’ve managed to get both feet wet. You have to cross a few streams

This is always a fun romp through the woods. I enjoy to run this one most of the time, but it’s good exercise either way.

Love this easy trail for running and to get away from people :)

Loved seeing the bald eagles nest! Went back with binoculars and saw a baby in the nest. So neat. The turtles sunning in the Yadkin was neat. Easy to do.

An easy hike through the woods.

I ran this trail earlier today. It's pretty strenuous but not too bad. The most difficult part is near the summit where for about 2/10s of a mile you are on uneven terrain and/or wooden cross tie stairs. You are rewarded for your effort with stunning views of the valley below.

Definitely some sweat but didn’t think it was hard if you’re moderately in shape

An easy trail. It crosses a railroad and parallels the Yadkin River for some distance.

A nice basic woodsy trail. You'll have some views of the Yadkin River at times.

Basic woodsy hike. Fairly easy without crowds.

Two of the best trails in the park. Great views and challenging to some degree. Rewarding hike! Those steps are a bit of a workout!

A somewhat lengthy woodsy hike. Less hiked than many of the other trails. Nice and quiet.

A nice walk in the woods. A neat old wagon is still on one side of the trail from years ago.

A lengthy hike on foot if you hike it down and back. Many manure piles from the many horses litter the trail so you'll need to dodge those. A wide and easy trail through the woods.

This is a neat trail. There are signs with information posted on them throughout the trail. The information describes the plant life you'll encounter as well as some of the wildlife you could encounter. The possibility of seeing bald eagles along the river section is exciting. I'll likely come back during nesting season to try and see and photograph the eagles. Horne Creek was larger and prettier than I had expected at one of the crossings.

Great Trail! 600+ steps going up and great view at the lookout point. Steady and patience is needed going down. Well worth it!

This is a great trail to explore. My sons and I have walked it several times before.

the park is great but needs to have more detailed maps.

Went today with the dog. Got there around 8am and parking was a breeze, but it started filling up by the time I was getting back around 11am (Sunday). Parked at the start/end and did Grindstone->Ledge Spring trail (right at the fork)->Jomeokee around pinnacle rock and back down the way I came.
It was pretty active with several groups climbing near the top, so it was cool to walk by them while they were doing their thing. There's a parking lot at the top, but I didn't pass it taking this route, so I don't know about the amenities there.

HARD but really great! Lots of interesting things to explore. There were tons of ladybugs in the cracks of the rocks at the very top, it was really something special to see. We went in November, but it wasn't too cold for hiking during the day. Would definitely recommend.
