I have hiked this trail 3 times now and love it. it's fun to do in the snow or in the summer.

This is one of the best trails. The elevation change is nice. Moderate is accurate even with snow and ice on the trails. Hiking poles were helpful. The trail is very well marked. The views are spectacular regardless of weather. The fog rolling in & out gave a wonderful changing view.

good day hike. remember to pack enough clothes with elevation change from bottom to the top the temperature and weather can change pretty quickly.

Great trail... it has some woods and some beautiful views! Quite a bit of damage from a recent tornado!!

This is a trail that I think anyone can enjoy. I would highly suggest going in the cooler months due to the fact that the trail length can start to get to you if you aren't in the best shape. Overall the nature that will be surrounding you is some of the best in Georgia and I would highly recommend this trail to anyone seeking a good fun workout.

Hiked on New Year's Day. A little muddy but overall in good condition. Falls were flowing beautifully. A great short hike.

Easy to access trail ending with a beautiful waterfall with lots of areas to hammock and enjoy the upper and lower falls. Usually fairly crowded given the easy access but lots of lesser traveled spur trails to access from all sides of the trail. Sandy pines to rhododendron - beautiful!

Great day to do the hike, especially since the state park was closed so not may tourists around. Total mileage was 12.2.

great hike and beautiful features. Was more difficult than expected but worth it.

Great trail for kids and dogs. Mostly woodland, not a lot of scenic points or overlooks but it was a nice 3 mile hike. Only a few points were really muddy (even though we’ve had record setting rains recently). It would be perfect for a trail run.

Greats views, good markers. Absolutely beautiful after a few days of rain the water falls were in full force. Enjoyed this trail in early December.

Great trail good for families and dogs

Hiked this trail today from the bottom to the top. Absolutely one of my favorites ever. The stream and waterfalls were rushing because it has basically rained daily for a month. Highly recommend parking at the bottom and hiking up first. Enjoyed a nice lunch at Artzy Cafe after the hike.

We completed this trail on Jan 1 with our pup on a leash and it is a really lovely and flat 3 mile hike. Very peaceful, right along the river weaving through the woods, and back around to the dam at Rock Island! Great mid day hike for all skill levels!

Awesome trail!!

What an awesome place. Trails are very well marked
Many options maps are posted all along the trails you can change you plan on the fly. Nice place to mountain bike

Lots of trails to choose from. Super pretty! Had a lovely time!!!

Beautiful area! Waterfalls were spectacular after the recent rains!

Excellent trail with views pretty much the whole way. Well marked. Very windy at the top but that's to be expected so bring a windbreaker of some type.

This trail was absolutely beautiful!!! It’s really easy until you get to the stone steps to go down to the falls. It is totally worth it to see this gorgeous waterfall. The trek back up the stone steps is even more challenging! We were lucky and someone had left a walking stick so we grabbed it. Definitely came in handy for the stairs. The entire hike you can see water and it never stopped being gorgeous.

It is a pretty scary drive up the mountain to get there, but I promise it’s all worth it to see the beautiful falls!

Beautiful day. Great views. Recommend micro-spikes for winter ascents. Ice covered sections of the trail near the top. I also have to question that 10.4 mile out and back rating. It's more like 13 to 14 miles. Definitely on the difficult side but well worth the effort.

Love it & our dog too

One of my favorite places to go hiking, there’s so many places to stop for views and photos on the way to the trails. The trails are fun to hike and not too difficult, there are many different trails so there are plenty of reasons to revisit, not to mention the waterfall on the Benton Falls trail. There is also a swimming area with a beach, a picnic area, camping, etc.

One of the best trail I have ever been to. Christmas know made it even better. Highly recommend!!

Hands down my favorite trail. It is worth it to take at different times throughout the year.

Great trail!! The steps at the end are tough but well worth it.

nice little trail with a pleasant reward at the falls

Such a great hike during the off season. Lots of wonderful wildlife sounds and fresh air. You’ll love it! Not too strenuous. I’ve climbed much more difficult...It’s a great day hike. Enjoy!

I love this area! This trail is perfect for those who haven't hiked in a while. Waterfalls, views, swinging bridges. Apparently there was a tornado in early November and the trail suffered a lot of damage. It's clear now but one should use caution. There are broken branches and whole trees leaning and hanging overhead. We heard a loud crack and watched a large limb come crashing down right in front of us. They've also had rain which has left some parts of the trail submerged. Not too deep but plan on getting wet feet. The rain has also increased the flow at the falls, it's pretty spectacular. Right below the falls is a good place to take a break, we stopped for lunch and enjoyed the view. Rattlesnake Point is breathtaking. Talk about a vista! I expect in the spring and summer it comes by it's name honestly. I'm looking forward to exploring other parts of Savage Gulf State Natural Area.

very nice climb, though view is boring.
