Nice easy trail (little muddy in spots). Appreciated the suspension bridge and the waterfall.

Holy cow! What a beautiful hike. The suspension bridge was amazing! Falls were absolutely stunning!

Why not spend the night?
We went up in late September and no one was around by the time the sun when down. There are some awesome camp site along the Exposed Ridge area, about 1/2 mile away from the Falls, right next to Ramona Creek.
This is an easy hike, nice areas to camp, and only 75 mins from Portland. Great for a quick, late summer get away.

Disappointing. The trail is definitely not for the very young, the very old, or anyone with mobility issues. The trails are very steep and not well maintained. It looks like there was cinder/gravel on the trails at one point but in many (most) places that surface has been ground into the dirt and what is on top is really slimy mud. In one steep place we saw before we gave up and turned back there were 3 foot skid marks. Also the "steps" near the upper parking area are not at all what the county park shows on the website. These were made of stones, apparently quite a while ago. The "steps" have broken up and resettled into a very uneven course. In places the next step is more than knee high. At the lower parking lot, there is indeed a waterfall, but there is so much brush in the way that it is not at all visible. We walked downstream a ways to see if there was a point at which it could be viewed and did not find any place where the waterfall was visible. It is really too bad they didn't locate the bridge that crosses the creek 20 feet below the falls instead of 20 feet above the falls. You can see where the water goes over, but no view of the falls proper. The area itself is quite nice. Perhaps the county can find some money for needed maintenance.

Did the trail with 4 adults & 5 young kids. So fun. About an hour to there and and hour back. Beautiful perfect family outing. $5 day use parking fee. Don’t be fooled by long country road, this is a heavily used trail. Might want to come early so you can find parking.

The water here is the prettiest blue to turquoise.

This place is nice it's a cute small simple trail that's family friendly we found it randomly while looking for another trail we couldn't find in the area so that was strange lol.

The water fall was really pretty and the view from the suspension bridge But this place gets SUPER crowded after a certain time so try to go as EARLY as possible because it just gets annoying when the crowd piles up.

Do it!

Nice trail system for picnicking and waterfall hikes. Well maintained county park with restrooms and wooden stairs and viewing platforms . Family friendly

My first hike. I’m not in great shape and found this trail to be relatively easy. Beautiful, peaceful, and perfect weather. Wasn’t busy on the Monday afternoon we went.

great hike. best to go early before everyone shows up

We went on this hike yesterday without checking the weather conditions. It was very snowy on the trail and got deeper as we went. What we could make of the trail was quite narrow, and at times it felt like we were walking along the edge of a cliff (side of the mountain). I used some of the deeper snow to help steady my footing (some reaching to my knees), but I still ended up slipping and falling far too many times to count. At least the snow is soft padding. The trail takes you through some rocky areas with snow run-off that are pleasant to look at. Like others said, the trail longer than noted, at least 5 miles round trip according to my phone. The final stretch to the top is very steep and I sort of had to climb in the snowy dirt and have my boyfriend push me up to the top. Once we got there, the view of the lake was beautiful. Walking back was slick, and unfortunately it started getting dark. There were narrow snow trenches we had to carefully walk through. I like to believe the hike would’ve been more enjoyable without the cold and snow. We did feel accomplished once we completed it though. I would recommend getting an early start and keeping snacks and warm clothing with you.

Couldn’t get my sportwagen through the snow today unfortunately but looks like a beautiful area! Going to try again in a month or so

First, AllTrails gave us the wrong directions! You don’t turn left on rd 1820, keep going straight and turn left on 1825 and follow the signs.
Other than that great day of hiking. We didn’t make it back to the falls though, pretty dangerous river crossing so we didn’t risk it, definitely going back in the summer.
The road to the trail head isn’t plowed either so be prepared to add an extra 4-6 miles round trip depending on how far back your vehicle can make it.

The directions on this app are incorrect, take 1825 not 1820 and follow the signs to the trail head. Too much snow to hike the whole thing right now (even in snow shoes or spikes.) Still beautiful! Can’t wait to go back in the summer and see all the falls.

Great hike with some beautiful water falls. Picnic tables, bathroom, and grills at the trailhead

Was a fun little hike, some snow on the trail still but made for a pretty day!

easy trail, beautiful scenery, the suspension bridge and waterfall combo is cool as shit.

Enjoyed this simple hike to a lovely bridge overlooking the waterfall. I loved the green forest trail along the way as well. As a photographer, I got some great shots. Was wet and muddy but beautiful. Will be back.

Beautiful hike! I would recommend even on a rainy day. The wooden stairs had a layer of ice from the snow this past week so we took it slow going down.

Amazing trail

Beautiful! Love the waterfalls! Definitely recommend!

All up hill but it's an excellent hike! You can walk behind the fall and keep going up to the top!! Great little hike!

I did this hike on July 20th of last year. The weather was perfect, and the hike was gorgeous. There were so many wildflowers on the way up to the falls, and Umbrella Falls itself was very impressive. It was also fun to hike up above the falls and to see the base of the Mt Hood Meadows ski resort. I would say this was a pretty easy hike. I was not in great shape and did not feel like this hike was very hard.

Beautiful falls and good hike. But it is not an easy hike, as the ratings say. I would say moderate to strenuous.

Absolutely beautiful!!!!!

Love this hike. About 6 inches of snow throughout the trail. Great spot!

This hike has two fantastic waterfalls. Went on a snowy day. Had no trouble, but it was muddy. Easy hike with a great payoff!
