Good hike with nice shade and a few views of the Ohio river. Nice breeze and shade for a midday hike! Variety of terrain is nice.

This was such a nice and peaceful trail. Everything was so well cared for and well marked. It made for a nice day.

Rocky but good

Such a great place. So different from many places you will go to trail walk. Lots of great overlooks with beautiful views. I consider this more easy than moderate. All the trails are gravel and very well marked.

Very nice, groomed trail for more of a walk, than an actual hike. Nice scenery, enjoyable stroll, but definitely NOT a moderate hike. I really enjoyed the rim of the quarry. Hats off to DePauw for maintaining this land for recreational and educational use.

it's pretty, not too bad of a trail

This was a great trail despite some areas in need of maintenance. We completed the full 10 miles in approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes. Like many others have said, the trail is well marked, provides great views, and is in the shade the majority of the time. Exposed roots and fallen branches are concerning if trail running. The point of the trail for us was to get some mileage and climbs in before a trip to Arizona, and this trail provided that for us. Will definitely come back.

Despite my rating, the trail is very well kept, wide, well-marked, and has beautiful views. I would definitely rate this trail easy rather than moderate. I rated the trail 3 stars, because I don't consider it hiking at all. It is merely a nice stroll through a nature preserve.

Very nice trail! A great workout for our family of 5, (13 yo, 10 yo, 8 yo). All sweating and ready to take the shortcut loop on trail 2, which after a mixup on where we were supposed to start ended up being 3.5 miles. Wish we could’ve seen with full creeks but nothing trickling during our visit.

This metro park, and specifically this trail, is a gem for the Gem city. It has some great vantage points and many different ecosystems to observe and explore. I saw a wild turkey while on this trail, as well as many rabbits and toads.

The orange trail has many connection points with other trails so that you can customize your experience each time you visit. I backpacked to one of the designated campsites by way of this trail and a few connecting trails. Overall it seemed very well maintained and regularly travelled through compared to some other sections of the park, which were laced with spider webs and partially overgrown.

This trail tends to get muddy, so I would recommend gaiters or something to prevent the mud and moisture from getting to your socks.

Gorgeous views. We actually hiked at Hemlock on a rainy day, and it was a lot of fun.

closer to 10 miles and that was longer than I thought!! Nice trail that were well marked. Mostly shady with some open meadows. Around mile 8 were some odd cold air pockets which were refreshing and unexpected! My son and I had a lot of fun and are glad we can say we made it!

Beautiful views along the way. Waterfall was a lighter flow than what I was expecting. But still very peaceful, not a crowded trail.

Fun trail and some great views of the lake. Moderate to difficult, trail well marked, lots of light to medium elevation changes and wood plank bridges throughout the trail. Most of the trail has tree cover. A bit deceiving as there is a lot of winding particularly on the back half of the trail. Trail could use a bit of maintenance, some areas have more vegetation on trail...a few trees were down, but only a couple spots where you have to walk through or around. Hit several spider webs but no ticks. A few hikers out, couple trail runners and several on horseback. Ladies at front gate we’re very helpful by sharing the type of traffic on trail. Good to know what to expect in advance. Peaceful yet challenging ride and plan to ride again soon. 100 min ride with several water breaks. Good cardio workout and you will definitely feel the burn in your legs. My son has hiked and backpacked the trail several times, good training for section hikes. Whether you ride or hike, take plenty of water. I have also camped and fished at the park. Well kept and very clean. Good luck, have fun and be safe.

I hiked this trail June 30th 2018. You are in the shade 95% of the time. There are a few open grassy spots along the way, the longest stretch being on the back side of the dam. Well marked. Definitely narrow. I only met 4 riders along the way. Often times the only way to give right of way for them is to be in the brush. I picked up my first ever poison ivy rash. I had no issues with ticks. I completed it in 4.5hrs.

Bummed. Hiked from cherry lake; followed the markers, then along the creek bed, as there was nowhere else to follow, then dead ended into private property. Followed that to a road, obviously not the trail & had to turn back. Checked with my hiking buddy to see if we missed another branch of the trail. Had not missed any other routes, marked or otherwise. Disappointing to say the least, wish these trails were marked appropriately and/or maps were available at trailhead.

Trail is very easy. Intersects with a lot of other trails in and around Delphi Indiana. Also runs through the Canal Park which features an interactive Museum about the Wabash and Erie Canal.

This is a nice hiking trail its a pretty easy hike my wife and i hike it a lot. Love that you can pick from 3 miles if you take the shortcut to around 9 miles if you do trail #2 and #3 so you can get the links of hiking trail that is right for you.

Just did the out and back along the valley trail after having completed the perimeter loop. Wide, gravel tail suitable for most anyone.

beautiful place to get away from it all.

The trails are pretty but definitely need better markings. Especially where trail 2 comes out near the trailside shelter. On the map it looks like it runs parallel to that shelter and the swings further north. There’s a trail marker slightly hidden there that sends you down a creek bed which I’m pretty sure isn’t the actual trail. Then, when 3 and 2 split off there are markers but if you take the trail 2 loop you are in your own for markers until you get to the intersection of the trail leading to campground A. It needs more markers since there are a few side trails that cause you to question which way to go. Trail 3, which was pretty much a straight line and the easiest to follow, had the most markers.

I did use one of the shelter restrooms and it was clean and well stocked. The gate attendant was very friendly.

I took my dog down on Wednesday of last week. We parked at Cherry Lake and went clockwise. The trail is poorly marked in a couple spots. At the end, we ended up at the park headquarters but were able to get back to our car. Total mileage was 10.85. I loved Bryant Creek Lake. We stopped and had a snack there & enjoyed the view. We only came across 4 people all day. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful and scenic route that offers alot of challenges if you are trail running. It will be a part of my regular routine training for knob stone trail.

Nice trail. Moderate difficulty but nothing ridiculous. Easy to follow. I was never confused about which way to go unlike many trails around Indiana. I would pack a sandwich and or snacks. I did the 10.5 miles in 5:10 with a stop to make lunch. There are lots of trees down that you can navigate around. Didnt see a single tick.

It reminds me of the Shoen creek trail and Lawrence creek trail in Ft Ben Harrison State Park except 10miles.

As other reviewers have pointed out, there are only two lakes. Generally well marked, we got lost at a couple spots and ended up on service roads, but were able to get back on track pretty quickly. Bryant lake is quite wonderful!

Great trail, decent amount of elevation change. Nice views and fun terrain. Would categorize it as a moderate trail run for sure, it's not easy. Not much traffic so that was very nice, certainly a hidden gem. Quite a few downed trees in the trail but was warned about that at the front gate.

Been going here for years and it's still one of my favorite places to go in the Southern Indiana Area! Very nice and peaceful place to go and get away from people for a day or two!

An excellent trail for those adventurers seeking a bit of a challenge with excellent scenery.

Beautiful & just the right length to take my mom on her first hike. Most beautiful after a rainfall so one can see the waterfall in action.

Great trail. Especially the quarry trail
