This trail is one of my favorite local spots.

Very easy hike. There’s a lot of shade so no matter what time of day you go it’s perfect. There were also a lot of butterflies everywhere you looked.
The heart rock was cute too :)

This was a beautiful trail! I did get lost getting there at first due to missing the sharp left turn to the road that gets you to the trail. We parked right in front of the camp sign but there’s two additional parking areas closer to the actual trail. My specialness went tru a closed gate and it was a nice and easy walk up with a paved trail (FYI). Unfortunately no water, but the rocks were cool to look at. We went back tru the actual trail which I LOVED due to the scenery but I had to take a few breaks since the air was thinner. I’d definitely recommend this trail!

This trail was awesome, very easy trail. We got there in the even. Enough time to hike the trail see the heart ❤️ rock and explore the trail surrounding. Dried out stream but still worth the drive.

Brought out full grocery sack of trash and a full backpack full of trash.
Please take your trash with you.
No water in falls, but overall good hike.

We loved this trail! Beautiful scenery and hill almost all the way up!

This was a great bike trail for my son, my wife, and myself. It is the perfect place for beginners to build endurance and pros to get a great workout. Also, there are playgrounds close by to the trails for the kids.

Good to hike early spring after some rain. Just down from Heart rock kids can slide on a rock into some cold water.

At 82 degrees, a little hot; but this is a fine trail with varied terrain and lovely views north to Palomar and east to Volcan Mt. The cattle have been “grandmothered” in so don’t be disturbed by them. We did it years ago in the spring, which is indeed better.

Went earlier today and it didn’t disappoint me except for the fact there wasn’t any water, but the hike and scenery was amazing. The kids loved it too. Definitely going back but when there’s water.

very nice ran into three bears.

Walked Heart rock trail on 7/21/18. Pretty shady. Pretty easy short trail to walk. You have to do a little climbing to see the heart rock. There was water running when we went in July. Unfortunately, there is some graffiti around the heart rock area. So sad.

love this trail, but currently closed due to wildfires.

great little trail, hike it all seasons to enjoy the changes this trail offers

Fairly uncrowded on the weekday. Nice and relaxing. Fresh air!!! It’s hard to find the beginning of the trail so I suggest not driving there on your own on the first time especially since GPS is spotty. It’s easy to miss the heart rock cuz you have to sort of look over a cliff to find it. Lol. Otherwise it’s a pretty cool site to see.

This is such a great hike for the family! My kids really enjoyed it and took in all the beautiful, lush landscape that surrounded us. We will definitely be back!

Fun easy trails. Good for family hikes with kids. Car wreck was an butt burner but the reward getting to top of the world was worth it. Pretty straightforward trails and a little too public.

This was a pleasantly surprising hike! It is great to get the family out and about into nature. There are plenty or rock formations, brooks, and tree roots for young ones to climb and explore. Most of the trail is paved but there are places you can go off the beaten path. Depending on the day you will have heavy traffic or light traffic. Either way, it's worth taking the family to see the heart in the rock. I do caution, some vandals did tag rocks with graffiti.

Good enough

A beautiful place to come with the children. They can lead the way and discover the beauty while respecting nature. Just be sure to bring $2 for the parking!

Nice shaded trail but steep to get to falls. Hard to find trails or where to park.

Nice short hike with some water to get your feet wet. Family friendly with lots of shaded areas to relax.

Nice and easy trail. My wife, me, & dog Bernie started at 7am and had the place to ourselves. We did the ridge first and took the canyon back. Not a super exciting trail but if you’re looking to get out into nature this is a good hike. Enjoy.

The trail was nice, and had a lot of shadows. But the entrance was hard to find. You have to go in front of the camp, then follow the pavement until you see a dirt road.

Lots of shade, nice breeze and beautiful. Trail is easy at first but steep towards end. A lot of people. . Not enough water for waterfall in July. Didn’t see the heart rock - don’t know if you have to climb down rocks to see it.

Easy trek with our dog. Some spots required a little extra footwork around trees where the sand was slippery, but neither kids nor adults were phased by this. The temp was perfect for the summertime- breezy and cool. To get to the trailhead, you’ll drive through a camp parking lot over a very shallow creek (at least when we were there) and make a couple windy turns before reaching an open space for several cars to park. The trail is covered in shade with lots of wildflowers and a little stream below the path. You can actually get to the heart in the picture if you climb down from the trail and climb up the rocks.

nice view took my 3 year old he loved it.

Lots of people and groups, kids, somewhat scenic trail. The closet parking area is indicated. We went a bit farther than the main tourist attraction, but wasn't worth it. Scrambling on rocks, cliffs somewhat fun.

Great hike with an awesome waterfall to play around or near. Fun little "pool" area at the base of the falls to cool down in. Our dog loved it too. If u do bring your dog go early because of the heat....and plenty of water for you and your pooch. Hike back wasn't too bad, the last .5 mile back was probably the hardest. Only saw one snake..

Easy, fun, family trail
