Good trail to hike with inclines that are challenging though not too long. Many rocks make foot placement awareness a must! Hike on!!!

I loved the view and the walk was great and met new people there and super friendly

Super afternoon day hike with my dog..
Trail are well marked, well maintained and the lake is beautiful in early spring.

Pretty walk. Lots of stairs for a good workout. The falls was beautiful

Trails were confusing at first. A few unmarked splits but all in all it’s a great little loop. Will be back out there again.

Great trail! Definitely take the red trail if you want to put in some work. Only passed a few people. Plenty of swimming spots for dogs.

Good for a quick trail run if you’re looking for a smooth surface, non technical, with some good ups and downs. No stream crossings. 4 mile loop makes for a nice run if you’re an out of town traveler, close to down town. Good trailhead with maps at various locations out on the trail.

We hiked both loops. Heading left/south/clockwise for both is definitely the more strenuous direction - much steeper climbs over shorter distances.

I had waited for a decent rain before hitting the trail, and it was definitely worth the wait - the falls were beautiful.

A wonderful hiking trail.Loved the overlook !!

Skip this trail if you want to go hiking in the woods. The only walking trails are really paved beside the river. Once you’re in the woods, it’s a constant barrage of mountain bikes speeding toward you and then getting upset if you don’t see them in time.

Good trail with lots of switchbacks, inclines and declines. If you are feeling brave, there’s a cave that goes back about 50 feet then opens up into a dead end located on the far side of the shore. Look for a rusted chain at the mouth. Being a hiking stick if you have bad knees. Also be on the lookout for snakes and other wildlife as I ran across one right off the trail and saw numerous deer tracks down by the banks.

easy hike to an awesome overlook.

That was a great hike, the red trail adds the exclamation point to the difficulty of it for sure. Didn't see anyone out or back except for the workers at the cell tower at the top.

stunning!!! the rock quarry is breathtaking. I would suggest going in the fall. the colors were fantastic when we hiked it a few years back.

I love this trail!! It is right off of 75 and the hike burns some calories going up to the summit. Nice summit but I would recommend going early especially if it is nice outside to avoid crowds.

This was a very cool spot to visit. There is 175 wooden steps to the top of the falls which are the biggest in the state of Georgia. There will be plenty of people enjoying the falls so if you want to be away from people this isn't the spot. You won't forget some of the views and sights and is a must if you're visiting the state of Georgia.

Nice state park. 5$ entry. Very Family friendly and easy to access, hence it's pretty popular. Don't let that stop you from going. Good views. Caught a ranger giving a talk about Owls at the lodge. 15$ buffet, to stuff yourself after hiking. Great view from lodge.

Great trail. Strenuous

West loop today and it was great. The view on the back side is incredible to walk. No traffic and pure tranquility.

Beautiful and challenging trail. Gorgeous views along the way, especially the dam. Easy to find, yet I never knew it was there! A hidden treasure.

The trail was semi wet from all the rain recently but still very navigable. I was passing through on a road trip and loved that this trail was right off the highway to stop for lunch. I would call this trail easy. The elevation gain was gradual. Very well marked!!! Great views, especially for being right next to the highway, I was more than pleased. Better hike than I could have anticipated and great views to sit and eat lunch!

great trail

great trail. Walked it yesterday. There is one spot where a freshwater stream has taken over the trail and you will have to go off the trail, but other besides that, it's a lot of uphill but not that hard. It's also a horse trail so watch out for horse poop.

Great hike in the winter when the leaves are off the trees and even better after a good rain when the water is up. The rock quarry is beautiful.

Nice and very scenic. Loved this park! Will be back soon!

Definitely a winter trail. Overgrowth would be tough in the summer. Not well-maintained

Great hike! As others say it’s more challenging than some other “moderate” hikes with a decent amount of incline and rocky paths. Most of the challenge is front loaded, assuming you choose to start straight up Pigeon Hill (clockwise on this map). Also worth noting the visitors center with restrooms is about 3.5 miles in. It is on the more crowded side, so if being alone on the trail is your thing, then this one isn’t for you.

Fabulous hike! Wished we had brought our ENOs! Quiet, well maintained. Loved the variety in vegetation during the hike!!! Head left for a more strenuous start or go right and you’re only 30 min from a beautiful little rock quarry pond. 4+ miles, fairly easy with a few little “up the hill” grunts from the older, out of shape folks. We definitely will be back!
