great place to hike ,very kid and pet friendly. every season is a great time to go!

great views

Beautiful hike to a gorgeous waterfall, but please come prepared and bring traction devices for your hiking boots. The trail is very icy and steep at parts. A lady had fallen and broken her leg today. I hope she’s OK!

Did this trail on 1/20. Not enough snow for snowshoeing, but you absolutely need crampons or shoes with fabulous traction on ice. There are several areas where you're walking at a steep incline on ice.

The scenery was beautiful.

gorgeous

I made it to the top today and it took all the will power I had. Didn’t get the sunny view but will try sometime in the summer again when I’m in much better shape! The views came out intermittently, and I was able snag a couple fun scenes.

Great hike that is challenging but short. It has some nice views and good climb.

If you have a dog, there are a fair amount of sharp rocks on the trail and there is also steel mesh. If your dog doesn't have tough enough paws its likely they will get cut, and there are sections where the steel has rusted.

Quick trail! The steps are harder than they look though! Gorgeous falls. I personally enjoyed Makestic falls better of the 2. Will definitely do again in the summer time!

It was a beautiful and relaxing hike! I highly recommend hitting the trail later in the morning, when the sun shines through the trees and the morning dew begins to burn off.

Went on a Cold Sunday morning hike. We took the Kopetski trail loop and came around the back side of jawbone flats. No worries you end up on the same trail you start on. We started our hike at 11 AM and got done at 2:15 PM. We only saw two other groups of hikers until we started to head back, then it was a bit more crowded, but no problem as it’s not nearly as bad as the summer time. Dress warm/layers as you are hiking in a canyon that gets very little sunlight and it’s cold until you warm up from hiking. We stopped for a small lunch at jawbone flats and had to layer back up before we got going again. Love this place. BRING CASH OR CHECK for parking. And if you can spare it, the town takes donations too, and once you see how pristine they help keep the town and trails you’ll want to donate. Great hike for all ages and skills but the Kopetski Loop is a little more rugged and step, would not recommend for little ones or people with old knees. Enjoy.

great family hike. can be muddy at times and slippery in some spots. still a great and beautiful hike.

Beautiful and scenic hike to do in the winter time; but the difficulty level goes from easy to moderate when there’s snow and ice.
A “must try” hike, when snow has fallen!
Micro spikes or something similar highly suggested!

easy hike with a wonderful ending!!!

Amazing view at top! Beautiful all the way up.

You absolutely need traction devices on your boots. We passed person who fell and possibly broke a arm. It's a ice trail over rocks and tree roots so I recommend two treking poles to help prevent tripping, snow shoes that don't have a aggressive track on the side won't get a good bite over rocks. There was a back up at the boulder field from unprepared hikers without traction devices. My wife used micro spikes by Kahtoola I used ice trekkers diamond grippers by yaktraks. If cost if a factor check and for kids check out Stabilgear brand of microspikes at P-rkrose hardware for $19.

This was a great trail! We rented crampons which are better than Microspikes per the recommendation of Mountain Shop. The rental price was 10. Some fellow hikers did not have equipment and were sliding or slipping. Happy hiking!

A perfect example of the beauty of Central Oregon.

One of the most beautiful hikes in Oregon. Jawbone Flats is an incredible site to see.

Not a fan of the road getting there, but the falls are amazing and totally worth it all.

Beautiful forestry and an amazing waterfall.

A few decent sites to see, but not really worth the admission fee.

Extremely basic park with no outstanding features.

Nice and easy walk. Nice and clean trail with a few falls. It's cool to be able to go behind the last one and just listen.

Did today with friends and kids. Great hike. Beautiful from the top!

pretty falls

My first Oregon trail to hike. Really pretty Hike with a gorgeous waterfall at the end. Hiked this trail in September. Perfect weather that day

This is a perfect hike for people who’d like to see Eugene. There are many points to stop and admire the scenery of what it means to be in Northwestern Oregon. I went December 27 and I was dressed in joggers and had a light jacket and windbreaker in the early afternoon and was comfortable. There are heaps of steps at the tail end of the hike but worth the view of all of Eugene and then some. Being raised in Eugene this is the first place I recommend if you plan on hiking anywhere in the Eugene area.

Beautiful, foggy day. Well maintained but not overly so.
