Took me 2 hr and 15 minutes in total to finish the loop.

Love it! Will come back and climb the rock!

One of sedona's best hikes, but be sure to leave plenty of time.

there are really three parts to the hike to know and plan around. The first big climb up to the bench, part 2 to the summit trails, and part three which is typically a quick 10 min to the Sedona lookout, or another 30-40 min to the north lookout.

if you really want to explore the best parts of the hike, plan lots of extra time!

Great hike with great views. Hiked out to both overlooks. Got pretty warm on the way down

Nice hike, great views. Loop is not clearing marked

There are nice views along the trail and at the end, where you'll find the petroglyphs. The petroglyphs aren't subtle, either, so you'll have no problem finding them. :)
I wouldn't recommend hiking this trail if you don't have proper hiking or trail shoes. You do need the grip here and there.
There is a nice sized parking lot, too, so unless you're hiking this in peak season on a weekend, you'll find a spot.
If you go during monsoon season, be mindful of a flash flood risk. At the end, where you'll find the petroglyphs are pools and a waterfall. Don't get caught in there if it's raining. The rocks would be too slippery to confidently be safe.

This is now one of my favorite trails. You get a little bit of every type of forest with every 500ft or so of elevation change, and the views are breathtaking. Well worth the effort to reach the top.

We went early morning in July, I mean 6 a.m.. the beginning of the tail is in direct sun light. once you get to larger rocks, it's more shaded as the sun hasn't come over the ridge yet. BEAUTIFUL. lovely views. we only went half way (per the trail on the map here)

Nice trail, some rocky parts. Beautiful views.

Good hike with kids. As with all AZ hikes, bring water! There were bees at the summit when I was there so watch out. The "caves" aren't really caves. But its fun anyway.

Great family hike. Interesting petroglyphs.

Did this hike with my son who isn't as enthusiastic about hiking in 110 heat as I am. We chose this hike for the moderate elevation gain and distance. The views are ok and the trail is well marked. The highlight are the hieroglyphics at the end. As many of the other reviewers have said, the bees in the pool below make hanging out by the hieroglyphs problematic.

Fun trail! Not a moderate hike in my opinion, more on that easier side. There is a gate entry fee of $7.

Great trail for off-roading. High clearance not required, but helpful. The views are beautiful and worth the trip. Use caution to stay on the "Easy" trail, if that is your personal limit. A wrong turn and you're on the "Hard" 4x4 trail to Devil's Staircase. Ask me how I know!

nice, go after a rain, hundreds of petroglyphs

Great scenery! Enjoyed the trail around Bell Rock and walking through trees, up pathways and seeing all sides of the rock formation. Highly recommend paying attention to the trail markers to ensure you follow the loop and don’t end up on the wrong side of the fence. Definitely worth the stroll!

fun, cant wait to take my friends here

Challenging hike but well worth it for the views of not only Sedona but the surrounding areas. Difficult to run due to rocky terrain but I suppose it is a mountain after all. Lots of folks looked pretty miserable on the trail- not a lot of shade. Parking sucks but upside is there is less traffic on the trail.

This is a a favorite for hiking in Sedona. Easy to follow the trail.

Took all the kids and had little whining. Fantastic views of Twin Sisters and the Madonna and Child. Chicken Point was a bit crowded with Ponk Jeeps but still worth the views of Village of Oak Creek and Submarine Rock. We couldn’t find the loop part of the hike so we just went back the way we came.

Amazing early morning hike. Quiet and cool. The colors as the sun was rising against the hills was stunning.

If only Tesla made a jeep version this trail would be 5 stars. We thought we got out early enough (7:30) to avoid the heavy tour jeep traffic, but heard and encountered several on our hike up and back. Still a great scenic hike that young kids could do with little difficulty. I wouldn't consider this as easy as Fay Canyon (which is only a slight incline), but I don't recall having to stop to rest. Just stopped to take in the views.

My wife and I did this hike / exploring and had a great time, a lot to see and a good place to take some fun and great photos, recommend it to everyone,

A nice out and back. Good variety of desert plant life at the beginning of the hike and the petroglyphs at the end are pretty cool. However at the petroglyphs at the top where the "waterfall" would be was just a wet pit infested with bees and wasps that made enjoying the glyphs difficult. It was 94 and I used about 1.5L of water and took about an hour and a half.

Loved this trail. Took us about 2.5 hours. Quiet, serene, and relatively flat. Highly recommend for all ages!

If you like rock scrambling, continue on past the wind cave! Very fun but definitely some climbing

After it rains, the waterfall is worth seeing.
