I love Hawk Mountain. nice views, variety of difficulty, good photographing opportunities.

Nice day hike if you are local. Nota challenging hike, but enough to get the blood flowing.

One of the prettiest sections of the entire trail from Pitts. to DC. Has highest point on trail and very long tunnel.

this was such an awesome hike.
will DEFINITELY be going there again!

Get hike! Did Both Pinnacle and Pulpit Rock! Great combo!

Awesome hike. Regardless which direction you take it, you will begin by going uphill early on then walking the ridge for a few miles before going back downhill again to the reservoir road.

Solid steady hike with a good scramble at the end but we wished we could’ve brought our dog!

Very technical rocky start to the climb. But gorgeous and because it’s a technical climb it is not crowded

I love this trail. Great views. Some steep parts. Can get a little crowded on peak days. Highly recommend.

Would rate a 5 for the hike but many views were of a highway. Still really enjoyable hike and not crowded like I thought it might be for a Sunday during a holiday week.

we did this one today for xmas. with our 15mo old. certain trails are very rocky. its all beautiful. steepish terrain. ♡ wouldn't recommend bringing a young child better for older ones.

Great time to spend outdoors, amazing views, going counter clockwise is the way to go if you want the whole adventure experience.

Great views on both sides of the gas line clearing. The area between the gas line clearing toward Duncannon was much rockier than expected, but keeps it interesting (more like the northern PA stretches of AT). Also some nice stream crossings at the beginning of the trail before the descent up the larger mountain.

The view from Hawk Rock is great. Had actually only done the hike down this part of trail but enjoyed the numerous rock steps/stairs. Looped back up the un-blazed trail which includes unobstructed view of Duncannon.

Me and my friends walked this trail a cold Sunday morning. Since it had snowed, it was hard to walk at our usual pace. It was very muddy and so many puddles. Aside that, it was a beautiful hike! Well worth our 2hr. drive. Would definitely do it again but in the summer. The views were stunning!

Love this hike!

Great day hike with the ladies. Very empty on a December Sunday

Easy hike with good incline and a beautiful view. Small dog friendly

Great section of the AT. Nice view in 2 directions 2.5 miles in. Yellow wildflowers in the clearing in July. It's steep but not constant.

Sept 2018- We left at 11:15 AM. Took us a little over 4 hours. Very pretty overlook.

nice views , good incline. did counter clockwise ... I did both minsi and tammany back to back for " mind the gap"
.. pretty muddy/slushy

I did this trial this this past weekend on 10th of 11-10-2018 but went down the other was the part away from the bridge went to peters mountain shelter n back it’s the mordant part of the trail it was a great hike

hiked this on 11/4 with a friend. loved it. many people on the trail and lots of dogs. made it fun. had lunch and hot coffee from my thermos at the Pinnacle rock. views beautiful. saw a bald Eagle!!!

It was a lot of fun to get out and start exploring some of the more impressive trail systems in PA!!!! 11/10/2018

Beautiful view from the rock!

Just did this with my daughter today. Had a ton of fun on this course! Very rocky between Pulpit and Pinnacle so a little slow going at times, but the views are worth it. Definitely need waterproof hiking boots too, as the return leg was quite muddy in spots. The spring on the last leg was flowing really well, so we stopped there to fill up.

A great little day hike. Take a lunch and sit at the pinnacle to enjoy views of hawks hunting over the valley

Skyline section is so much fun! I highly suggest doing this counterclockwise.

This was a really enjoyable trail. You can certainly hear the road noise from the highway but I was able to tune that out. I would suggest going early (if you want to avoid people). On our way back down, the parking lot was very very full! We will be back!
