trail was awesome. blaze can be seen but didn't know how to stay on the correct trail. there were no "go this way for this trail" a mix of blue orange and red trail blazes. took the blue trail up the steep mountain. wasn't sure if we were still on the correct trail, so after three hours, turned around. took us one hour to get off the mountain.

other than that it was a nice, never traveled trail.

wire bridge was awesome!

Next part of the trail done. This section was from 501 to Seglock Road. We got to see Cannon Hill. Saw a man on a horse, other hikers and joggers as well. Pretty decent hike. Spring vegetation all over the place!

Great hike with a very rewarding view. Allocate 2-3 hours if you plan on spending time at the overlook. A little muddy in the spring, so wear good boots.

Took the challenge trail, and stopped at several points along the way up to catch my breath, but the view at Flat Rock is spectacular and well worth the effort! Took my dog with me, he's nearly 4 mos and he loved it too! Highly recommended by people and pets :)

Quick and easy afternoon hike.

Nice little trail, the whole King's Gap area is good but not for a hiker looking for something more adventurous. More geared toward kids.

I loved the manicured wide trails and the peace and quiet of this place. It is quiet and there were only sounds from neighboring properties where people were shooting around. Strange. The park is beautiful and the trails are partly very challenging. It was a cold grey day when I was there and worked up a good sweat. The inclines are very good! It also has a lot of connections from one trail to another if you want to lengthen or shorten your hike. I saw ONE other person while there and that made my day!! The only not nice part is the high tension wires along a part of the trails. They detract a lot from the natural beauty of the place. Otherwise very worthwhile!!

A challenging but amazing trail. I haven't been here in a few years and they have updated it to include a choice in difficulty as you head up the mountain. Views are phenomenal.

Difficult hike in the beginning, had to rest a few times up the initial steep incline. The vista at the top was beautiful. We had lunch at the top and enjoyed the view before continuing on to Tuscarora trail, then Lehman trail, Warner trail to Cider path and then walking down the road past the lake to get to the parking lot. I highly recommended this trail!

Came here on a slightly rainy and foggy day. First time in the trail. We did two miles between routes 501 and 322, past Eagle Rock. The trail was very well marked but pretty rocky at times. Small waterfalls along the way.

Very disappointed. At least half of this loop trail was on access roads. The mountain ascent with snow and ice was strenuous but I made it. Was expecting more of a challenge.

Nice mostly paved trek. A small area goes into high grass with a narrow path. It’s optional but be aware of ticks if you choose to take this route. I opted out because it was very muddy and I didn’t have bug spray with me. Be sure to venture to the top of the PA monument to get a great view of the battlefield.

One of the best vistas I have seen in PA. Deffinitly a hike to check out. Nice and vigorous up hill as well.

Hard uphill but amazing view at the end makes up for it

This has become one of my favorite hikes after doing it! The stream crossing is tricky to find but awesome when you do find it! If you have a dog joining you for the hike, he/she must be okay with water as they must swim across the creek! Trail is poorly marked in some areas and about 10 trees cover the path on part of the trail as well, but that was fun! I only had to use the AllTrails GPS a couple times. Very steep and rocky and just absolutely gorgeous! Cannot wait to do this trail again!!

Nice hike on a cool December day.

This is really just a creek. Floated it. Had to get out at some spots.

I like this trail. There isn’t anything dramatic about it, but it has fun surprises along the way. Eagle Rock is a cool look out on a clear day, the small waterfalls are a pretty surprise, along with the great rock formations and informal petting zoo behind the Pretzel Hut. I think it’s appropriate for hiking, dogs, trail running, and kids.

Amazing view of The Cumberland Valley on a clear day. Around mid June there is a large section of blooming mountain laurel mid way on the hike. It’s like walking through a pink cloud.

Trail was in good condition. It has some long strenuous stretches but well worth the view in the end. I will not do this trail in the summer as I hate snakes. But November is awesome.

Beautiful view at the top!

Hiked this today. Absolutely beautiful Vista. Well marked trails.

Rewarding view!

Definitely a good workout for a gorgeous view at the end.

"Easy" probably a better description. No steep climbs, no bouldering. Most trails are wide, soft, well-maintained, and well-shaded.

Highly recommend picking up a printed map at the trailhead, and noting which blazes to follow on which sections of the hike, the trail network is complex.

The section beyond Blue Mt. Parkway is unmarked, overgrown, and skirts private property. Highly recommend long pants for this area, as it is highly overgrown.

Only 4 of 5 stars due to poor signage in a few spots, but other than that a great hike today. A few spots, I thought, were on the harder side of moderate. Didn't see many animals, but it was 87 degrees so perhaps they were staying in the shade.

Great Hike. Bring lots of water because you are hiking up the whole way. I would say this is a moderate trail. I'm glad we didn't bring our toddler. It would have been difficult with her on our backs or walking. The view was breath taking ❤

A grand view awaits you after a rough and Ricky uphill climb.

Awesome stream crossing, but hard to find my first time there. I ended up wading through the water instead because I didn't know where the wire bridge was located. Easy to get lost without a GPS but a very much untouched and pristine hike. No spectacular view at the top, but the rock scramble and exciting scenery along the way make it well worth the journey. I do wish the trailhead was better marked.

Awsome moderate hike
