Great walk. Challenging in parts due to snow. Amazing views of surrounding areas
Walking clockwise, pleasant woods & river to start, steady climb up to the Blackstone Edge, and steady descent back down via the lake. Parts were pretty wet in January, but overall easy/moderate.
We went off track a little due to farmer not allowing through yard at dirt pit but added to the adventure Looks like recording stopped at high force High force closed at visitor entrance but a very good walk all round
Very wet under foot and bogs in a lot of areas but nice brisk walk.
Gorgeous walk, highly recommend! The drive there also makes it worth while.
snow day !!!
A bit difficult to follow the path. Probably because of the weather.
When arrive when using the app to get to the location you can park right next to the lake you need to walk little to a farm and pay for parking pop ya money in a box take a ticket etc was £3 all day make sure you have some coins on you the walk was hard going in the snow (see pictures) with ice under snow and pockets of water filled ditches covers with snow and the wind was wild at some points but all good fun lol walking time was 5hrs 16mine totally including stopping for tea and food picture etc 6hrs 15mins
Nice steady walk, gets a bit boggy in parts. Looked beautiful in the snow
Really good
fantastic
Me and my friend absolutely loved it .. just getting into walking, this was so good seemed high, we even had the pleasure of sun snow and mud too
Lovely walking, but not for your young family as there is very steep ground where a slip will end in a long fall into the gully. Much easier these days than it used to be as there's a lot of work been done on the path.
An easy 5ish miles! We just did out and back to the falls (as well as gibson cave) to avoid the sheep mentioned in other reviews. Apart from one very short set of steep steps its a super easy and nice hike. The ‘donation’ to get to the bottom of high force is a very loose sense of the word - it is a ticket - and is now £2pp. Still, worth it to sit and enjoy the falls. You can go to the top for free (just dont cross the wooden bridge and continue straight)
Great little route quite boggy in areas but easy pathways to get through
Great walk. Easy route to follow. The packhorse trail is fairly boggy when wet, but still manageable. Our spaniel loved it. If there's a downside it's the start and finish by the M62.
Beautiful trail! If your bringing a dog make sure you pack a long lead or an extendable one because they need to be on lead for about 50% of it. Still worth the walk though!
Lovely walk and it takes 30 mins to get to the top from the White Pub car park.
lovely trail, however, when I went today, both low and high force were kind of closed off as there was a filming crew there. Gibson's cave was magical though and stunning with the autumnal colours.
