Fun trail, not particularly strenuous. Almost exclusively paved or gravel and has a stunning view of LA. We liked that there were numerous branch off options to adjust the length of the trail to make it either shorter or longer!
Watch out for bikers on the little hills they come flying by, otherwise great hike
Great challenge! Part of this trail is a mountain bike track so watch out for bikers if you’re on foot
Really enjoyable, pretty crowded with people, dogs, and bikes, and a great view of LA!
left this morning looking for Tiger Tail Trail, but got lost in hills looking for trailhead. ended up following crowd to this convenient neighborhood hike. lots of people and bikes, but plenty of space. good workout and pretty views of the ocean.
Fun trail with lots of great views. Everyone we encountered was friendly.
Very nice! If you’re looking at google maps, you’ll park at the Kenter Trailhead. I went on Sunday morning around 9am and parking was kind of crowded but definitely doable. There was way more parking when I left around noon. There were a decent amount of people on this trail but the trail is wide enough that I didn’t feel too close to anyone at any point. There is one narrow portion of the trail (used by bikers mostly) that you can avoid by staying right at the fork near the whoops trailhead (uphill). I got some great views of nature, the city, and of houses I’ll never afford...
Sporadic hike, not totally clear of path. Great mountain/ canyon views. Some steep challenging parts.
Very pretty views! The only downside is make sure to follow the map because there’s a couple different off trails. The swing is to the left of the fire road
The Trail can be a bit confusing, but it’s a good hike! The weather felt great after the rain on Saturday. Also, to find the swing you have fo go off the marked trail, towards the big tree that’s on an offshoot of the main trail. This will make sense when you see it!
Beautiful views, wide road, a cool bike with ramps (we were hiking but it looks very professional) Beautiful sunset
Great hike.
Good quick workout, a little shade, lots of dogs!
Easy, good views, busy in the late mornings
The loop down was steep and rocky would have gone down the same way we came up. Otherwise nice and isolated. Pretty views of LA on one side, ocean on the other.
The map on this hike shows 3 mini loops on the trail that intersect depending on which way you go. So if you are hesitant about the steepness just follow the parallel route. They all meet back up. Great views of downtown, Santa Monica and the ocean. Will definitely come back. I didn’t know there was a swing!
Easy to moderate trail. With good views
It is a good hike, the trail was hard to read but got to the swinging bench somehow! Very refreshing hike!
Beautiful views and slow steady incline. Wide trails make for good distancing. Although seemingly straightforward based on the map, there are many offshoot trails throughout which can make it confusing if you’re trying to follow a specific path. It’s seems like they all end of reconnecting at some point though, so you’ll be fine whichever one you take. I checked the map multiple times while hiking which helped steer me in my intended direction most of the time. On my recording, the tiny zig zags mid trail near the cluster of photos are from when I was rocking on the swinging bench, a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the views and the quiet :) Enjoy! Note, street parking only. I had no problem finding a spot (mid morning).
Widest and highest view of LA IMO
Beautiful though it ended quicker than anticipated.
Nice morning except for one jerk dog owner with Cujo off-leash. Damn dog aggressively charged my dog (on-leash), and it almost got ugly. A few choice words were thrown their way!
Great for dogs
This trail has gorgeous views the entire route, and provided ample space to remain socially distanced from others with the trail staying wide thru it’s entirety. The climb itself was pretty steep with a few look outs to stop at, and did offer some respite near the top as the grade leveled out.
This trail offers great views, but the only downside is the electrical lines. Nonetheless, the sunrise was spectacular and we had the trail mostly to ourselves. By the end, however, more people, dogs, and bikes. I definitely wouldn’t do this later in the day!
