Parks to visit Map

Tried to find this trail from the south, we’re little creek crosses the first road north of the lake, but I couldn’t find anything

I came to do some Geocaching in the preserve. Once you got off the short access trail from the trailhead by the ballfields, the trails were nice and wide and well maintained. Most trails were numbered but I did not have a map to help me know one trail from another. The elevation change in the area was quite unique for Florida. I later discovered that this area used to be phosphate mines which helped explain the topography. Mostly under tree cover except the north area along the railroad tracks. I did about 10 miles in the park and found it quite enjoyable on a mild October day.

Great easy trails with plenary of scenery!! Beautiful blue river teaming with wildlife! I take my kids here all the time, make sure you stay on the trail as the poison ivy was pretty thick. Also pack the bug spray to keep the mosquitoes and sand fleas away and always check yourself for ticks! The play ground, pool, canoe rentals and general store at the center of the park makes for a fun destination for the kids.

Trail is wide and varies from sand, pavement, and grass with a few potential muddy spots. There was little canopy along the trail. Trail markers were red but there are two places with blue arrows painted on the ground. Follow the blue ground arrows to stay on the red trail.

lots of shade covering most of trail, good direction using the app, decent amount of trail markers, clear path, only ran into other trail goers every 10-15 min, saw a few deer, luckily did not see any gators though I'm sure they're in there, trails could easily flood so don't go right after any heavy rainstorms

Well marked and maintained trails. Multiple trails to choose from based on your experience. The green trails are easy enough for any beginner, and the blue and black trails are fun and challenging.

Bridge is out for repair. Only a small portion is open.

The view was amazing and I saw 3 deer.

Rode 10 miles north beginning at Green Pond road. Nice ride except a few rain showers.

This is a very nice trail. I did both the Hickory Creek Trail and the Palmetto Pines Trail. 3 stars represents a good ranking. 5 stars are reserved for Grand Canyon trails.

Great trail. I enjoyed it greatly.

Surprised to find this little gem in Florida. Can be technical at times. Loved the rides.

This is a very nice trail that was washed out in a few places but overall not in bad shape. It is hard to follow at times but this app was a big help. We are going to use it a lot to train for the Appy Trail in the fall. Break in shoes and get packs adjusted kind of stuff. Wear long pants and long sleeves and put on the bug spray so you can really enjoy it.

Trail was flooded so I went along the paved areas. In 5 minutes I saw a baby gator, a huge owl and a wild sow with 3 piglets! What everyone says about wildlife in the other reviews is true, but I feel bad giving 5 stars to a flooded trail. Definitely going back on my next business trip to the area, so I hope I have a more complete review to write at that time. Don't hike often in Florida, but this seems a candidate for the elevated boardwalks I've seen on other trails.

It was fun...until we got lost. The maps aren’t worth a crap and somehow we ended up on the horse trail. Plenty of bugs to go around. I was miserable by the time we got back but BOY did we get a work out. Very adventurous and a good place to unwind in nature if you’re good at navigating with crappy maps.

I have been going to this trail for 10 years and it still ranks as my favorite! The trails are truly primitive and you have to pay attention to both your feet and your head! Some amazing lookout points and rarely another person on the trail makes it a trail runners paradise - I start running from the parking lot and get an even 5 miles of loop on my Garmin.

Great trail! It is marked hard, probably due to the amount of water you might end up hiking through, if it's the summer. In parts of the trail, water will easily reach close to your knees. Very beautiful trail.

Fabulous! A trip through different ecosystems- each one a true treasure. And if you don’t want to cross Morris Bridge Road, I suggest you sign up with AllTrails so you can get detailed maps and info on the numerous small trails accessible off of the Main Trail loop.

Best mountain biking you can find in FL. Variety of single tracks for any skill levels all the way to double Black trails.

I love it !!!

Just got back from this trail. Both loops are flooded, but nothing more than ankle deep. The mosquitoes are horrendous. My nine year old was almost carried away by them. We fully sprayed ourselves down before getting on the trail and they laughed at us.
Well maintained trail, $6.00 at the gate, easy parking if you go early. Nice walking by a river. Take a weight belt so the mosquitoes can’t carry you away!
