Surprised to find this little gem in Florida. Can be technical at times. Loved the rides.

This is a very nice trail that was washed out in a few places but overall not in bad shape. It is hard to follow at times but this app was a big help. We are going to use it a lot to train for the Appy Trail in the fall. Break in shoes and get packs adjusted kind of stuff. Wear long pants and long sleeves and put on the bug spray so you can really enjoy it.

Trail was flooded so I went along the paved areas. In 5 minutes I saw a baby gator, a huge owl and a wild sow with 3 piglets! What everyone says about wildlife in the other reviews is true, but I feel bad giving 5 stars to a flooded trail. Definitely going back on my next business trip to the area, so I hope I have a more complete review to write at that time. Don't hike often in Florida, but this seems a candidate for the elevated boardwalks I've seen on other trails.

It was fun...until we got lost. The maps aren’t worth a crap and somehow we ended up on the horse trail. Plenty of bugs to go around. I was miserable by the time we got back but BOY did we get a work out. Very adventurous and a good place to unwind in nature if you’re good at navigating with crappy maps.

Flat with no shade the whole way. Get's pretty hot in the summer- bring lots of water. Doe this a number of times with family (kids as young as 5, but that was difficult for them). Great views of the everglades- especially from the fire tower. There is a restroom at both ends of this out and back trail.

Winter is the best time to go due to less bugs and lower heat. Path is a narrow asphalt one-lane road with primarily cyclists. Caution: there is a tram that shuttles people from the parking lot at the visitors' station to the fire tower- they get the right-of-way. Not really an issue until dusk- when the alligators come onto the trail to warm up and you have to go to the side for the tram to pass ;)

I have been going to this trail for 10 years and it still ranks as my favorite! The trails are truly primitive and you have to pay attention to both your feet and your head! Some amazing lookout points and rarely another person on the trail makes it a trail runners paradise - I start running from the parking lot and get an even 5 miles of loop on my Garmin.

Great trail! It is marked hard, probably due to the amount of water you might end up hiking through, if it's the summer. In parts of the trail, water will easily reach close to your knees. Very beautiful trail.

Fabulous! A trip through different ecosystems- each one a true treasure. And if you don’t want to cross Morris Bridge Road, I suggest you sign up with AllTrails so you can get detailed maps and info on the numerous small trails accessible off of the Main Trail loop.

Best mountain biking you can find in FL. Variety of single tracks for any skill levels all the way to double Black trails.

I love it !!!

Just got back from this trail. Both loops are flooded, but nothing more than ankle deep. The mosquitoes are horrendous. My nine year old was almost carried away by them. We fully sprayed ourselves down before getting on the trail and they laughed at us.
Well maintained trail, $6.00 at the gate, easy parking if you go early. Nice walking by a river. Take a weight belt so the mosquitoes can’t carry you away!

great place to hike and bike. one of my favorite places to go.

Awesome trails! Just gotta make sure e you stay on trail. Watch for the colored tees to make sure you’re on trail and you’ll be fine!!! One of my favs for sure!

fun but don't go on these trails when it's in the 90'

My Saturday run
Plenty of canopy cover

Great 15 mile loop for exercise and seeing gators up close during the cooler months. They rent bikes for $9 an hour. If you get there before 2 pm there is no wait for a bike. State park that gives you 7 day entrance with one time payment. Park on the side of the street to save time and money!

We had a fun time on the trail. There were plenty of alligators right next to the trail. Be careful with the kids. The watch tower was great. It was impressive seeing hundreds of birds all nesting in the same area. Entrance was a little steep $25 per car but it's good for a whole week.

Decent. I would recommend at least to go one time. It’s a good escape, keep in mind the trail takes around 2 hours to complete so be prepared. Bugs are usually around August-September.

Worst experience ever. Tree after tree across the trails mosquitoes so bad they covered you in seconds. There was a guy with a prostitute in the parking lot having fun. Just a good park gone bad.

beautiful, and lots and lots of wildlife + plenty of gators.

My favorite mtn bike trail around, especially because you can find yourself doing a series of trails, and choose to either start and finish each at the trailhead, or do one loooong trail hike.

I like the trailhead w new restrooms, covered picnic tables and bike wash. This allows me to take a break and relax a bit before tackling the next trail.

trail designed w every mtn biker out there in mind.

You will find everything here. I usually start my ride here to get the blood flowing.

Packed the sedan w 3 mtn bike’s (son, neighbor’s son and myself) and headed to Carter Rd trails in Lakeland FL. Can’t say I enjoyed the torture but it was a welcomed change.

Unexpectedly hard blue trails, and lots of mud - this could be good or bad, depending on personal taste. Felt like I was 15 again.

Not a terrible trail, there are points where you can get lost but it’s easy to get back on track. Your going to be walking through a lot of marsh and plains when on the trail but you soon enter a forest which is by far the best point on the trail. Terrain was not hard at all however I did get my feet wet from walking in unavoidable marsh water. Overall good trail but nothing that’s going to blow you away.

Cool trail... but beware of horseflies during summer months.
