Parks in the City Map

Great city trail in Portland’s acclaimed Forest Park. The lower trail follows a stream. The upper trail leads to a lovely view of the city and Mt. Hood beyond from the gardens of the elegant Pittock Mansion. Water bowl for doggies and the ticket office for the indoor tour of Pittock.

Easy hike with multiple options for trails. We did about a 2 mike loop.

Great trail, I wouldn't go as far to say it's "Moderate". It wasn't a difficult hike. nice scenery and once I got up to council crest for the first time, the views were great I soaked them up for a couple of hours before I decided to hike back down.

Pretty easy hike, great little stream. when you take the turn up to Pittock Mansion be prepared for the incline. I've hiked this trail two times now. The first time I wasn't in the best shape so it was a nice burn. The second time I was in better shape so it wasn't as bad, but I powered up it and was out of breath by the time I got to the top because I was hiking up pretty quickly.

Always a great park for a walk or hike. Parking can get scarce on busy warm weekend days.

Wide open area at the top with fabulous views of Helens, Hood and Cascade Range. Lots of forests around the base with smooth dirt trails. A very nice new entrance with parking lots, bathrooms, water fountains, benches, information and sculptures. Trails range from paved, to gravel to dirt. Horse trails too so watch out for piles! Busy on nice days but so many trails to chose from!

I thought this was a great hike! So fun for the puppers and I. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful.

Was a very nice hike. Well maintained trails.

Nice, easy walk with pretty forest views.

An amazing gem right in the heart of NE Portland.

Beautiful setting and easy to get to.

The trail itself was ok... nothing to right home about. The view from Council Crest was beautiful, but pretty crowded!

This convenient, but heavily used, trail in the West Hills near downtown Portland leads to the iconic Council Crest Peak. On a clear day there are great views not only of the city, but also Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens and Mt. Adams.

Great stroll in the forest, and located right in the city. There is a creek running through part of it and an old mossy stone building to check out.

If you only have time for one hike in PDX, do Upper Mcleay to Pittock mansion and pack a lunch for when you get to the top.

Easy and relaxing

This 19th century urban park in Portland, Oregon is very popular. It features a peak with nice views and several reservoirs for the city’s water supply. Lots of people and dogs on well used trails.

Fun cute little trail near the pond. Beautiful view. I went when it was snowing so if course it was muddy. I’d suggest going across the street to the rhododendron garden even if you have to pay the $5 admission in the spring time. It’s a gorgeous area.

Great trail in the middle of the metro area!

1st run in a couple years... defiantly a challenge little slick on the back but well worth it..

This hike is a great suburban treat! it's an series of easy well manicured trails maintained by the parks district. There are nice views, bathrooms, a playground, and information/meeting indoor area at the trail head. There are a handful of short connecting trails. No dogs here. It's a little disappointing, but understandable why they are not permitted. It's a nice place for a quick scenic jog with a gradual uphill return. Family friendly.

my sister and I had a great time hiking here. it was a little muddy but I think it had rained the night before. overall, it was beautiful.

meh. lots of dog poop on the ground, not many trees. crowded.

Beautiful scenery and amazing views of Mt. Hood and downtown Portland.

Dry and no mud today. Some cool birds in the swamp.

Beautiful. Peaceful. Easy directions and signs for all trail options throughout. Also extra cool labels on some trees. Excited to come back and try another trail option.

Lots of fun options to make your own route. 7 miles today.

Great hike for families
