Great trail and there was hardly anyone on the trail, but then it is late August. I did go early in the morning and I was up at the picnic tables in about an hour. It was all uphill except a few places where it leveled out just for a few minutes. Very enjoyable and a good workout.

Not my easiest hike but super rewarding with some petty kick ass views.

Nice hike, not difficult and the oasis is cool but loses a star for the horse manure everywhere. And you have to move out of the way when horses need to pass, at times perching up on the edge of the trail. I think riders should be required to have the horse diapers on them so hikers don't have the poop obstacle course and they get to enjoy the stench instead of us... We renamed it Horsesh!t Canyon, ;)

We did this at sunrise to avoid the heat. Most of the early part of the trail gets shade from the canyon (at least early in the day). We climbed up to the high point of the trail and then back. The trail carries on to "South Lykken" but it did not worth the extra effort to get back to the car. (Intersection with the Skyline trail had me tempted. But 114F is not a day for that one). (And this is easy to find and starts right off the main road in Palm Springs).

Trail in amazing condition. Great views the entire way. One 10 yard section of slushy snow.

I started early today to beat the heat. I only encountered other hikers at the north and south extremes, from trail heads to first lookout points. Otherwise, I had it all to myself. Wonderful views over South Palm Springs with the sun coming up.

super easy trail, perfect weather. waterfalls are beautiful not much water going thru.

Great little up and back hike! Little dicey in my old Honda Accord coming up dirt road to trail head but made it. Going back soon!

Have done this trail many times over the years. Half way up is a plateau where we have a pet memorial tree. Have scattered ashes of three dogs that have done the hike. Beautiful hike. Also fun to hike back down to Humber Park as long as you have two cars. :-)

Nice, leisurely stroll with awesome views

Absolutely brutal trail; rocky, technical and very unforgiving with a massive amount of switchbacks. Must be vigilant about every step taken. Views were pretty awesome and vertical gain was a great workout, but I really don't ever need to do that trail again.

Great view of Palm Springs

Easy to find trailhead. Trail was clean and elevation was doable. Lots of rocks and boulders. Several hikers on this trail. Beautiful views of Palm Springs.

Great trail. It would be better if there was shade. Hike this trail very early in the summer months. I hiked the complete 4.1 miles. Trail was clean and elevation was a good workout. The trail took us behind Bob Hope’s home (he use to own it). That was really neat seeing it from the back and up close. The peak offered beautiful views of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. This is a good trail for kids and beginners as well. Highly recommended.

Very nice out and back trail. I also recommend that when you return to the parking lot to tack on the San Andreas loop.

This tail doesn't disappoint! Easy and incredibly scenic, the palm tree-lined path follows a natural spring Creek along side stunning canyon rocks. Pick a shady spot to have lunch or meditate. It's one of my favorite hikes in the world. The trail isn't paved, so may not accomdate waffles with special mobility needs. It's a great hike for kids, with lots of lizards and birds to watch, as well.

Hiked this in February and it was amazing! Covered in snow, and the weather was perfect. Definitely going back in the winter.

EVERYONE!!! Please take caution while parking at the trail head at the end of Ramon Rd. We were about to start hiking when we noticed another vehicle had its window smashed and had been broken into. (We notifiedPalm Springs PD)There was also evidence of broken glass 10 yards down where additional parking is. Be safe out there.

Sorry it wouldn’t let me write this without putting stars, just wanted to give the hiking community a heads up. I can’t truly rate this trail as I haven’t hiked it.

Easy trail, gorgeous greenery mixed with the feel of the desert.

Be aware of $9 per person entrance fee. Well worth it. The trail is part of Indian Canyons. It was a fun and interesting hike lots of beauty and interesting features. I'd definitely hike it again.

Another classic Palm Springs hike -- similar terrain to the South Lykken trail, but follows a secluded canyon up to the top of a mountain ridge rather than trails along the rim -- some striking views and scenery -- highly recommended.

Beautiful but on the easier side. I would not give this a moderate rating. The falls and pool at the end are beautiful.

the first mile is in the dry heat of Palm Springs. Once you get to the river, it is amazing! You cross the river several times and as much as I tried to keep my feet dry-they were wet. I ended up just saying f it and walking in the water instead-just ring out your socks. your clothes will be dry by the time you get back to your car.
