We hiked during the week and there was light traffic on the way up but on the way down there was increasingly more traffic. The hike is gorgeous and Lake 22 is picture perfect! This was our first hike in WA and it didn’t disappoint.

Long drive to the top on a sketchy gravel road but worth the drive. The hike is gorgeous and no wildlife spotted along the way. The waterfall is majestic and pictures don’t do it justice. After the waterfalls, continue the trail to see gorgeous mountains and a meadow. Light traffic on trail on the way back down.

Great blackberry patch in front of the trail head! A nice easy afternoon hike with nice water views. Sad to see how people have destroyed the area by making their own trails :(

So me, my gf, and a fellow couple we met off of IG, did this as a night hike. Legit the perfect night hike to do if you have never night hiked before. I say that because the trail is short 2.5 miles up, and is extremely wide and well maintained. We started at 4:45 Am and were to the top by 5:45 Am with about two stops for water. Just in time for sunrise, which is why we night hiked it in the first place. Be carful, the trail gets a little rocky towards the end, but other than that pretty safe. I was there yesterday and it is still very hazy and Smokey from the wild fires, but I appreciated the different perspective. Over all a great hike and would recommend to any hikers or beginner hikers. The views of the lake and every greens our our this world, and I’m saying that on a hazy day. So could you imagine a clear day ? I’ll deff be back.

Great views of the waterfall!

Went on Sunday 8/19. Got there at 3pm and found parking! Hike started with lots of people and then there were less and less until we were only by ourselves. We got a nice view of rainier on the way up but it got too smoky after so the mountain faded away but still amazing sights to take in. Make sure you bring water, sunscreen, snacks, candies and camera with portable charger and lots of space for pictures! It gets a little breezy at the top but never had the need to put another layer on. Took the golden gate trail back down crossing through meadows of green and flowers and a stream. What a sight! Would definitely recommend this hike and will visit again if I’m ever around the Seattle area

Five start rating for the views, but if you don't like being in crowds then this is not the hike for you. Hiking clockwise can be more strenuous than counter clockwise which has a more gentle assent. The wildflowers are beautiful at this time with many opportunity's for picture taking, just remember though to stay on the designated trails.

Did the loop counterclockwise. Took us just under 5 1/2 hours. This hike was hard in my opinion. Glad we went counterclockwise because it was BEAUTIFUL on the way up and more dusty and exposed on the way down, plus we were so tired we could not have properly enjoyed the beautiful scenery. I think it would be fun to go back counterclockwise again and go to the top then turn around and go back down and go to Lake Ann. No bugs, beautiful and well maintained trail and trailhead! Not sure the mileage is accurate here... we showed closer to 8 miles.

We did both loops with our kids, stopping along the way to read the signs and learn more about the rainforest. Such a beautiful environment. The boardwalks are fantastic...many steps but very doable for active families.

The trail is very well maintained, lots of benches and break spots if ya need it! Did this hike early on a Monday and almost had the trail to myself! It was lovely!

Not too tough, not too easy. Many different glances at Rainier: Even though you get about as close as you can, as you move away it's presence grows even larger and larger. She lures you in and then as you walk away begs you to return.

Magnificent views with great cliffs and beautiful river beds. Lots of places to stop and reflect and watch the rock climbers the path is relatively easy with wide and narrow areas, but not at all scary. Worth at least a half day outing.

Definitely not for sissies or if you out of shape like me. My 19 year old Army son didn’t break a sweat. Totally worth it. Too bad it was smoky to see all the beauty!

ditto everyone's comments on how great it was. the negative was finding the path down to the pool. its not a trail but more a goat path along the back rim of the pool. when you arrive, go to the back side of the pool by veering right off the trail. you'll get to a semi flat spot just left, above the falls. from there climb the rocks along the edge and you'll go over the top and back down where you go straight down to the water. not as hard as it sounds but not easy to find.

Hands down the greatest hike I’ve ever done. The first day we went to do it (June 29) it was completely fog and snow covered which was super haunting and spooky. We heard an avalanche on the upper mountain, wish we got to actually see it. The next week we went back and a huge portion of the snow was gone near the bottom, and the views were INSANE. Absolutely amazing, expect to cry when you see the mountain and the view from panorama point.

Not a summit trip, due to being beat up by a Rainier climb the day before, but still an amazing place to explore. There isn't anywhere else on the planet quite like St. Helens.

The water was absolutely amazing and cold! The views were good too. We went to the lookout point of snow lake first, then snow lake, which took about 1.5 hours. The hike down took about 1 hour. Swimming in snow lake was really nice, not crowded at all, would recommend, great life experience to swim in an alpine lake.

Hiked this on 18th Aug. Beautiful hike. Fun glissading
down. 2nd time to camp muir.

A really beautiful day hike! Its definitely smoky at the moment but not enough to deter us. The trail was shady most of the way which was great. Plenty of gorgeous views!

If you want the classic Instagram photo with Mount Rainier, this is the place to go. There are many rocks to take pictures off of along the way and great views. When we went, there was smoke from the BC wildfires so we didn’t get a good view of Mount Si and Mount Hood. The total hike took about 2 hours, but with photo shoots along the way, we took about 4 hours in total.

Amazing!!! Sadly, the smoke was bad.

Beautiful hike, smokey today from all the fires. Hikes up around 4:30am and were only accompanied by another couple and photographer for a wedding shoot. Lovely sunrise spot, the mist and clouds looked so beautiful rolling in through the mountains and evergreens. Lots of people hiking up on our way back down around 9a.m. On a Monday. Definitely a spot to get to early. Took us about an hour, hour and a half up.

Perfect hike with family to get feel for great NW.

So did this hike with co-workers. The app says it's an easy hike. it is not! More like moderate is how I would describe it. Over a gravel road and up and down spots. But that being said it is beautiful!!! All the little trails you can go off to see the waterfalls and the most beautiful pools of water ever!! Jawbone Flats is so cool!!! Here's the moderate part of the hike.... the 1.3 mls from Jawbone is a very narrow rocky and better watch out for the tree roots trail. But I am telling you the end results is totally worth it!! I would do it again!!!

Beautiful hike great trail.

$5 permit needed for parking. No issues finding parking at 4pm. Such a fun hike given variety of nature such as little creeks or a fallen tree blocking the path. Best of all is the reward of a beautiful lake at the top!

Definitely a rewarding hike. I loved it.. by far my favorite place.

Spectular views, mostly well accessible. Bit crowded at the beginning but the further up you get, there will be less people. It gets strenuous at times, but there are enough places to catch your breath and take in the scenery. Parking is difficult if you don’t start early. Bring enough water and snacks.
