A very fun, but short, rock scramble, and the trail is a great hike.
The rock scramble was extra fun with snow on the ground (be careful!), water from melting snow was running (stay dry!) and made for some beautiful scenery.

hiked this on 11/4 with a friend. loved it. many people on the trail and lots of dogs. made it fun. had lunch and hot coffee from my thermos at the Pinnacle rock. views beautiful. saw a bald Eagle!!!

We took our scout and webelo pack camping in the Tuscarora State forest about 40 minutes from this trail. We had a mix of 12-16 year old scouts and a few 10-11 year old cubs with varying degrees of hiking experience and fitness levels. I’m 47 and in decent shape, and I was able to do the steps, then hike another mile or so once we got to the top.

The views are fantastic, and the hike is somewhat hard, but definitely worth it. I would recommend a hiking or trekking stick for the descent, and a solid pair of hiking shoes/boots with thick sides as there are a lot of loose, sharp rocks that will beat up your feet. Also recommend a camera and lots of water. Great trail with an interesting history.

It was a lot of fun to get out and start exploring some of the more impressive trail systems in PA!!!! 11/10/2018

Love this trail. Hiked twice — once in the spring and once in the middle of summer. Would like to try again in the fall. Can be very crowded, but the falls are breathtaking and worth it. Good idea to bring bug spray on this hike during the summer.

The falls are beautiful and a must see if near the area, trail is easy enough to follow and this hike can be done in under 30 mins. Not so good, lots of college aged kids screaming, blocking the trail and drinking beer. Pretty sure this is a common occurrence as the falls smelled heavily like beer, its unfortunate people cant respect the environment.

Trail was in relatively good shape, and the vistas were stellar. Some sections are pretty steep, so be advised.

Great trail, but steep going down. The rocks with the wet leaves this time year, November made the hiking a little more complicated.

Wet rocks and leaves made it a little sketchy. But worth it! A lot of recent rain had the tiny creek roaring! Beautiful !

Definitely one of the best hikes I've ever done. Falls were amazing and scrambling up the rocks was a lot of fun.

Just did this with my daughter today. Had a ton of fun on this course! Very rocky between Pulpit and Pinnacle so a little slow going at times, but the views are worth it. Definitely need waterproof hiking boots too, as the return leg was quite muddy in spots. The spring on the last leg was flowing really well, so we stopped there to fill up.

Ricketts Glen is by far the best trail I’ve ever been to. All of the waterfalls are amazing , a must see for everyone.. Get your camera ready this place is breathtaking. I recommend good shoes and a walking stick!

A great little day hike. Take a lunch and sit at the pinnacle to enjoy views of hawks hunting over the valley

AMAZING wish I lived closer. The falls are beautiful. Scrambling is a little tough but I was able to do it with my dog on a lead. Highly recommend.

Skyline section is so much fun! I highly suggest doing this counterclockwise.

The way I hiked, this was an out and back trail, not a loop. Followed temporary signs for Flat Rock Trail and parked in the upper lot by the horse area. The spur trail from the parking area to the rattlesnake trail is marked with blue ribbon. No indication where the trail joins the yellow blazed Rattlesnake Trail. Several other hikers were confused at this junction. Follow the yellow blazed trail, it winds in a circle until you find a sign pointing towards Flat Rock Trail. Lots of people on the trail on a Sunday afternoon in November but it didn’t feel overcrowded. Beautiful view from the top.

Beautiful mountain, peaceful and subtle. The trail is marked by white markers on the trees. Lots of rocks and boulders. After walking 3 miles in, we turned back because we didn't see where there would be a loop or a scenic view. Views can be seen past the trees. by 4:45pm, the parking lot was packed with vehicles, I'm assuming to see the sunset? not sure. We entered past the gates bridge.

Really pretty fall hike. Also relatively uncrowded even though it was a beautiful Sunday. I did the north trail, followed the AT a little ways further, and then went back to the parking lot via the south trail. I definitely wouldn't rate this as a hard hike, but the initial part was a nice little climb.

Solid hike! I did this loop in about 3 hours, we took our time looking at the falls/outlooks. The waterfalls are quite steep and can be slippery, hiking shoes are best. I would not suggest going down on the falls side! Some parts of the trail are not well marked, so pay close attention once you get to the top of the falls.

This is obviously a great hike, though it can be crowded at times. Awesome falls just about the entire hike. It took us about 4 hours to do the loop on a less crowded day. It can be slippery so use caution. Must do hike and IMHO late October early November is the best time.

It's a fun trail. There are a ton of unmarked campsites between the start point listed and the New Tripoli Campsite which is off a side-trail after the power lines.

Perfect crisp November morning. I got the last spot in the small parking lot at 7:30, judging by the dew on the windshields most were there over night, evident by the several encampments on the way to the Edge. Didn't run into many orher hikers until about 10 on the way down.

I hiked the rail trail from both ends . A beautiful Fall day - lots of color - I could not do the loop because Bear Hole is closed for flood damage - this is a great hike for kids or if you want an easy hike . Saw deer, a snake, 6 wild turkey and all the people we ran into were very nice . This hike as a little of everything

Trail is beautiful! Falls vary in size but all are great. Just hiked today and leaves made for slippery rocks and trails but the scenery was perfect! Great fall hike for sure. I will definitely return. My German Shepherd who is almost 11 years old pretty much ran this whole trail which means I did as well. Also lots of detours into the water for fun! Great trail for dogs (if larger in size and in good shape) lots of well marked trails and plenty of spots to step aside to let people pass. Highly recommend this trail! Experience it because it's worth it!

very strenuous, but pleasant

Wow! Stunning yellows here right now. The falls are gorgeous, pictures don't do it justice. I'm so glad I took th loop clockwise like someone on this app suggested. It would have been much more difficult coming down on the falls side. I wouldn't suggest doing this in the rain as wet rock scrambling here could be dangerous. The overlook was awesome, don't miss this trail!
