I would recommend this Trail to anyone interested in escaping into the Woods and getting a daily dose of that camping experience. Skip the gym, hit Rope Mill.

Great rails-to-trails bike path. You should know what you are getting when you go. Well kept, good condition, variable scenery.

This is a beautiful trail. Very clean and not crowded.

Awesome hike. The first half of the trail isn’t too strenuous. However, there are parts on the second half that do get tough. It’s hard rating lived up to its name. The view at the top is absolutely worth it. My only complaint was that the trail was not marked well, so use this app to help guide you

The bike ride is worth the look for it. It is not well marked to find at trail head. The path is newly paved, wraps around and under and over roads, gets hilly with little shade. I did glimpes a bear in field were pheasants flew up. Its best to ride in fall and winter.

Great hike. I’d call it easy but I feel a little more seasoned. Great view with all the leaves missing. Sunny day.

I will start off by saying maybe this issue was because of the government shut down and having no forest rangers. However, this trail was being used by squirrel hunters and there were people hunting right off the parking lot for the trail head. WE COULD SEE THEM SHOOTING FROM THE TRAIL HEAD! Needless to say this was a 3 hour round trip wasted because we didn’t feel safe hiking with so many (obviously irresponsible) people shooting that close to the trail.

My wife and I hike this trail on a regular basis with our two Golden Retrievers. We all love it!
There are always friendly people on the trail, and we often run into through-hikers of the Appalachian Trail
The views are fantastic!

Love this trail! Great for a short hike in the woods, going to the right from the trail head marker (Homestead Trail sign) puts the lake on your right for about half the hike, the second half is then back in the woods.

Awesome hike beautiful scenery, would do it again

Awesome trail!

Great trail I was slightly concerned when we started out because it is on a road but after about a quarter-mile or so you turn and go into a real hiking trail and it is beautiful after that.

Such a fun, easy to moderate hike! The summit is well worth it, even in the fog!!! We had two dogs and made it easily. Went on a chilly Sunday and it was practically empty!

Take the western loop clockwise to avoid hiking down rocks!

Misty, foggy and cold. No views, just a nice easy walk in the woods.

Good hard hike with the best views I have ever seen besides the grand canyon and I'm afraid of heights so couldn't get to close to the edge. Will for sure do it again! So pretty!

Always enjoy this one. Gravel trail the whole way up. Beautiful views from the top. Hammock and swings to relax on and enjoy the mountains! Don’t forget to stop over at the old mill before hopping back in the car. Took our pup and she really enjoyed it ! 4 stars bc of gravel. Wish they would have left it dirt.

I love this trail! Very organic! There were several trees to crawl under & step over, but it added to the hike in my opinion. Very wet from all of the rain & little sunlight. My GPS says we did 5 miles, however, the trail map at the trailhead says it’s 4.1 miles. We took the West loop to the quary loop, then the East loop back. It’s beautiful!

On top as I type.... trail in good shape, and lives up to it’s difficult rating (but I’m not use to hiking). Would definitely recommend

Nice trail system that connects to Coopers Furnace Trail to the south. You can do some different loops and get in some decent mileage and elevation gain. There are also some side trails here and there that are fun to explore.

A nice bonus is that the sign says that the Pine Mountain trails are open until 10:00 PM. So could do some night hiking there as well if was predisposed. It could be a nice full moon hike or starlight hike.

This is one of my favorite trails to do soon after it rains. The sound of the river towards the beginning of the hike, paired with the altitude gained is a wonderful experience.

This is an excellent trail if you are looking to get in shape. My dog an I run it on a regular basis and I'm glad that such a wonderful trail is so close to my house.

This is a really great trail for weekend walking. We started taking my dog here when she was just a little puppy and I had to carry her for about a third of it. Now that she is over a year old she loves it and has no problem!

great hike beautiful view

Great views at the top! Hikes a good challenge as well, but definitely doable!

Great hike on a wet and foggy morning. If you are hiking during the wet season, use caution. It gets slick on the rocks!
