Great hike

Very diverse trail with all types of terrain. At times it can be tough to navigate. It took us around 6 hours to complete with a few stops along the way. We backpacked in and set up camp along the creek side. Beautiful park!

Great trail for day hike or overnight backpacking trip.

The falls are great once you get there. The hike there is kinda lame and the creek crossings become monotonous.

Very fun trail, very secluded for the majority of the trail. Not well maintained however so you have to go off trail sometimes, not a trail for beginners.

I would recommend this hike. This trail is not marked, so we did have a little trouble finding it. The start of the trail is right at the bridge by the canoe launch area. You cross the creek several times and you have to go over multiple fallen trees. The falls are like a hidden treasure & the hike there is pretty cool too.

Loved it. Easy hike, we had to cross the creek about 5 times so plan for possible wet shoes if it’s rained in the last day or two, which is what we lucked into. This is a hidden gem! Didn’t pass anyone on this one, totally off the radar. Been to the Gorge 4 times now and just found this trail. One of our favorites in the area. Make time for this one if there’s been any rain.

Nice hike!

I live close to the trail head and it’s my absolute favorite.

Incredible hike, incredible setting! It is a bit demanding — certainly not a trail for novice hikers, but it is the definition of natural beauty. Highly recommend!

Fun has a mix of challenges and entertaining for all.

Fun hike with lots of armadillos & spider webs! Trail has a few areas where it’s hard to follow. The park seemed deserted. We only saw a handful of people around the park and met only one group on the trail.

Nice hike in the Leatherwood area. The overlook is just 3 miles from the trailhead. Also worth noting that the start is across the bridge down the stair case. Overlook was a nice view of the Bsf River valley

Great hike. I will definitely do this trail again. However, it is confusing at the beginning. But once your in about 1/2 mile it’s very easy to follow the trail.

Nice trail but found it difficult to follow at times due to confusing branching of trails. Luckily, with this app was able to get back on track. Traveled counterclockwise and took a shortcut back via the metal latter to the overlook when I couldn't locate the rest of the trail.

It was amazing trail with the part we saw but we got to ice castle falls part going north, and got completely lost couldn’t find any trails or where markers. Super sad we didn’t get to finish. Any body have any wisdom please let us know .

Trails were not maintained very well. It would have been super easy to get loat, trails are marked by blue dots on trees.

Love this trail. Although there are places that are somewhat overgrown and full of chiggers, the trail overall it's great. Not to difficult in my opinion, but had some good parts that were challenging. Have been twice in the last 3 weeks.

This trail is absolutely amazing and beautiful. The overlook is stunning and it makes the climb totally worth it. However, make sure to be extremely careful and to look out for potentially dangerous animals. My friends and I camped overnight in a campsite near the main overlook and we spotted a mountain lion that hissed and growled at us on the way back to the campsite from the overlook. The next morning we saw 2 Black bear cubs and their mom as well as a few snakes.

Awesome hike. Saw two little bears about a half mile into the trail. There are so many amazing sights along the trail and the terrain keeps changing. You’ll cross streams, crawl through little caves and scramble over boulders. There’s so much to see we spent six hours out there. Bring a lot of drinks and you can’t put on enough bug spray.

Hiking was very difficult but well worth the trip. The hike was definitely more than 5 miles according to the fit bit it was 7.17 pack plenty of water and snacks.

Bear Waller Gap Trail is one of my favorites. It is a challenging trail in places. I usually do a full length both ways. I suggest starting at Defeated creek entrance if you plan on a round trip. if you only want to do one way or are a beginner, I would suggest starting at the overlook and having a ride to return you to your vehicle.

If there hasn't been a lot of rainfall lately, the falls won't be much of a falls. In that case, it's more about the journey than the destination. There are a lot of fallen trees to go over/under, and since it is an unofficial trail it feels a bit more like you are just exploring in the woods. We hiked on a Saturday after camping nearby. We saw about a dozen other people on the trail as we went. I will probably come back sometime when there is more water flow.

Me and my friends had a lot of fun hiking this trail! I highly recommend going off the beaten path when you see the opportunity for a good view. However, be very vigilant in keeping an eye on the trail markers, it will take sharp turns and leave you lost if you aren’t careful. I wouldn’t recommend taking young children on this trail because parts of it are difficult and very steep.

Hiked Angel Falls Overlook and the Grand Gap Loop over two days. There is a perfect camping spot where Angel Falls Overlook Trail intersects with the Grand Gap Loop Trail. It is behind the sign at the top of the hill. There is no water on the trail after the small rock shelf that you hike which has a cable attached. Make sure you fill up your water there. We used a mini sawyer filter. Camp site is about .5 mile past the ladder and rock shell cable are. Stumbled on a black bear twice while hiking this trail so beware. Beautiful views at the two overlooks to the right of the intersection mentioned previously. All in all a great hike!

Pretty straight forward. Has 2 paths that run almost parallel and cross each other at times, so even while on the creek just look left or right and pick a path or hike it's entirety as a "loop". The waterfall isn't that great but I'm sure it has better days.

Did this trail this past Sunday morning. Easy to find once I got parked in the parking area by the bridge. No trail markers but was able to locate with no problem. I was worried the falls would not be running because the stream was dry. It was running but not much. Beautiful area to hike back to.

I found this hike pretty easy! Trail was pretty well marked and we did it counterclockwise. Very beautiful rock formations. The middle section has some rock scrambling but not much. It was fun to go thru the caves and rock tunnels. My husband ended up spraining his ankle mid way thru, so we had a very slow final 2.5 miles... but even with that we finished in less than 4 hours. Probably could have finished in 3 hours. The first 1 1/2 miles and last 2 miles are fairly “flat” and easy trail.
