Over 2 miles Map

Several paths to take form long to short easy to moderate. Wildlife....birds, deer......snakes near the water. One of the paths cuts through a neighborhood. That’s kind of cool.

Nice hike with limited views. Road in kinda sucked.

This was a very cool spot to visit. There is 175 wooden steps to the top of the falls which are the biggest in the state of Georgia. There will be plenty of people enjoying the falls so if you want to be away from people this isn't the spot. You won't forget some of the views and sights and is a must if you're visiting the state of Georgia.

Nice state park. 5$ entry. Very Family friendly and easy to access, hence it's pretty popular. Don't let that stop you from going. Good views. Caught a ranger giving a talk about Owls at the lodge. 15$ buffet, to stuff yourself after hiking. Great view from lodge.

Great hike with great views. Trail was a little hard to see in places but well worth it!

Nice super easy hike!

Love this place, easy trail and an amazing view if you make it all the way to the top!

Spent Saturday afternoon in early March on the trail with my Golden Retriever. Nice view of the river through out. Less traffic gets little challenging in the 2nd half. Overall a fantastic way to spend your afternoon

Went to ATKO today. Took the stairs to the top of the falls, which I highly recommend. It’s tough but take your time and it’s not THAT bad. Well work the views. Visit the lodge while you’re up there. Took the East Ridge trail back to the visitors center. Great weather today!!

Such a great area, everything you would need for all ages. Because of this it is extremely busy, I recommend getting there as early as you can to avoid the crowds and kids. $5 parking with lots of available spots. Great for a quick workout or a full day of hiking and picnicking. My personal favorite, if you've already experienced the waterfall before, is taking the East Ridge Trail up the mountain and taking the stairs back down. Definitely broke a sweat and was ready for a break when I got to the top.

Definitely beautiful views if you have good visibility that day. Free parking with lots of available spots. Lots of room when you get to the top. Not a hard trail at all, I would classify this as easy instead of moderate. This would be a great running trail.

Beautiful views and massive waterfall

I recommend you go early, this is a very popular area. The parking was full by 10am.

Beautiful falls. Lots of stairs that can be wet. Close to parking which makes it nice but also means many people.

Beautiful views and waterfall. It’s easier if you hike to the top and come down the stairs but it’s more difficult to enjoy the waterfall that way. Your backs to it most of the time. Well worth the trip!

This trail is very nice and the falls are breathtaking. I recommend starting at the bottom of the falls and ending at the top. Some of the views from the top are great. This trail is awesome and I recommend it for all ages and this trail is defiantly for beginners. Plan to stay for around one or two hours. This trail is great and I would definitely go back.

Great views of Atlanta and surrounding area at the summit. Snack and drinks at the summit as well. Bring the family for a fun time.

Not difficult at all. We had a hiker for whom this was her first hike ever. She found this to be easy

Great view close to town

The Indian Seats Trail is 3.2 miles and has nice views with food incline. I usually hike the three Hilltop, Mountainside, Ridgeline Trail Loop which is another 5 miles. Both together would make it a little over 8 miles. If your really trying to put in miles you can hike both loops twice and maybe on the second go around you can do it the other way for a different look. That would be almost 16.5 miles in that case.

I hate how dogs aren’t allowed here, that’s the only thing I don’t like, because I take my dogs hiking everywhere! Other than that, it’s very beautiful, and not a very long hike either.

Can’t wait to come back and do this Trail in the spring. Lovely views of the river, nice woods, moderately challenging terrain. Lovely

My wife and I did this trail a few weeks ago. The trail is nice, moderately strenuous, and well maintained. We did hit a couple of spots where some markers would have been helpful; markers are lacking here. The view from the top is great, worth the effort! No dogs allowed.

moderate hike with good views and friendly people

Enjoyed the falls, easily accessible via the boardwalk trail. Did the whole loop / Interpretive Trail—Lower elevation wandered through lush rhododendrons, ferns and other evergreens. The trail does go through a lot of clear cut area but there are some mountain views before descending back to the river. I mapped 3.5 miles from parking area and back.
*Follow the paved trail, under the bridge, continue along the boardwalk until the end. The falls are just beyond.

Great hike. Took us an 1 hr. and 45 min. with a stop at the top. Slow going on the one side of the trail because of a lot of mud. Hiking shoes needed a bit of hosing off!

My 3 year old and I had a great time on the falls trail! He made it down ALL of the steps with no problems, then he zoomed his way back up, almost faster than I could! This definitely isn’t his first trail experience, however I really don’t think this one would be too difficult for most physically active kids. All the way down to the bottom and then back up took all of an hour and a half. It was beautiful and we had a great time!!

Awesome trail, even in winter with temps below freezing! Beautiful views! Falls are THE BEST!
