beautiful hike! Not strenuous at all, with lots of great scenery. took my husband and I about 3hrs round trip as we stopped ap many time to get amazing photos. highly recommend microspikes if you're going this time of year (december), especially as you get closer to the falls and at the falls if you want to get a closer look.
only reason I'm not giving a 5 out 5 is because there were several people with dogs not on leashes. Please be courteous of other hikers (especially those who actually have their dogs on leashes). I love dogs but dont love being jumped on when I'm trying to enjoy my hike.

I did this hike just after it rained in the first week of December. When I got up to 6000’ or so there was about 6” of snow and roughly a foot at the summit!!

Couldn’t have picked a better time to hammer out this hike! Highly recommended!!

I was able to get to the summit in 3hrs and 45mins.

Round trip was 7.5hrs total including some breaks and 20mins at the summit.

This hike was everything everybody said it would be, and more. Perfect weather and trail conditions.

Loved coming here! so beautiful! a trip with remembering for a long time! it was a bit chilly when I went there, but I had a warm jacket on, so that took care of it.... make sure to bundle up when going on a cold day. it was packed, but we found some parking! so picturesque! a must go. it's practically nothing to go up to the bridge, but still wear good shoes. Have fun!

Scariest hike ever. I'm talking about the cable portion, it is steep as hell and even steeper than photos when you see it in person. But it is do-able you just have to focus on moving to the next wooden board. The wooden boards I believe are spaced out 10 feet from each other from the bottom of the dome to the top. It took us about an hour just to get to the top because there was traffic lots of people going up and down simultaneously. We had to take turns for those coming down and those going up. To get to the top without traffic should only take maybe 10-15 mins to give perspective on what traffic does. Also the traffic IMO makes it more scary because you have to hold onto the cables even longer.

I'd recommend using gloves with a latex coating to help with the cables as it gives your hands much more grip and you'll avoid blistering your hands like many other people.

I'd recommend doing it if you want to face your fears. Just take it one wooden board at a time until you reach the top and you'll be fine. Lots of people did it and have done it.

Would I do it again? Probably not lol just because it was scary as shit. BUT DO IT ONCE AT LEAST :D

Beautiful sights, challenging hike and uplifting experience!

Nice easy walk and a beautiful waterfall! Was pretty busy there even on a weekday in late November. Definitely recommend going early to miss the crowds

Great views! Unfortunatly for us, we have to avoid last sector by icy.
For me one of the best perspectives.

Was easy and fun hike. It’s pretty muddy right now when you get to the overlook from the top of the falls. My dog loved this hike and the switch backs tired him out.

Beautiful view from the top! Well worth the effort. My then 7 year old was a little nervous about the narrow top portion of the hike, but she toughed it out and wasn’t scared once we were at the wide and mostly flat top of the peak.

We hiked AL on Dec. 1st. 2018. We could not have asked for better weather. The condition of the tral was excellent. I would recommend checking the forecast, have good hiking shoes or boots and bring plenty of water and protein. Bars/bananas etc. The view from the top and also along the way is phenomenal. Cheers.

Lovely hike. Went up on dec 2nd. Spikes highly recommended for the final 3rd to the falls.

Breath taking both figuratively and literally.

Great fun and short. Getting down was a hoot.

the trail is open to the top of the falls. fire damage evident, lots of new growth on the forrest floor.

Absolutely beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. We explored the area to the left of the end of trail sign. This hike was worth the scrambling.

Loved this hike. A must at sunset.

Hiked this trail on Monday 11/26/18, the trail re-opened Friday 11/23/18 after the recent fires last year. This trail is not 9.4miles long, but close to 13 miles round trip with a portion of the devils rest trail being unmaintained. Trail workers did a beautiful job restoring this trail. Beautiful views of the gorge at Angel's rest, if you dare brave the blow you over wind. Saw coopey and upper coopey falls in the beginning and fairy falls in the middle. Forrests are gorgeous with some really dark ones on devils rest trail after the summit end. Nice parking area with no bathroom right off the old highway looks kinda small in the dark. I arrived just before 6am in the winter when it was still dark. There is no fee here. I saw over 30 people and 5 dogs (of course non of them were on a leash) hiking most of them after 9 or 10am and on my descent. The closest bathrooms for this area are at bridal veil falls. If you are wanting to hike this trail it is super helpful to have a pre recorded map as the devils rest trail is half unmaintained.

Short but challenging technical hike with a few rock scramble areas. Views are worth the climb!

I absolutely love this trail!! The only problem with this trail that I have encountered, is that many folks don't leash their dogs. This makes it challenging for a dog on a leash. If one dog is on leash and the other isn't, this can create big issues between the two..Please leash your pup's, even if they are super sweet.

Amazing hike did this back in September and forgot to put a review, but this hike is beautiful! We left early in the morning at 2am and it was perfect going up in the dark with headlamps and enjoying seeing things from a different perspective rather than going later like 7am so heading down you see everything that you didn’t going up so it makes the hike better since it’s pretty much a 10hr hike. Going up early at 2am and not knowing much farther you have to go was just great, but to just keep moving and the hike went by quick because by the time daylight started to show we were at the base of sub dome. Heading down was quick n easy, but by 10am traffic rolls in and makes it difficult.

Leave early for the hike to make the cables with little to no traffic. Make it before 8am cause up top people start to roll in and head down the cables with traffic is a pain to wait for people to pass n continue to descend.

The hike in general starts pretty easy for those that hike normally. The hike gets tough when you hit the foot high steps n they continue to get higher n higher, but that’s why you start early n you don’t see how much farther you have to go. Sub dome is just the same a bunch of foot high steps, but aren’t to bad if you go early and rest at the steps. Cables were surprisingly easy both up and down. Down is easiest, but going up isn’t bad if you have RUBBER GLOVES. Crazy beautiful site seeing going up cables and top. Used my GoPro and the videos are awesome.

Pack some good food and 4L of water. I managed to make it with 3L and have some left over, but it’s probably because we left early in morning.

Go prepared (food&water), go early, proper gear (boots&gloves, don’t forget permit, and enjoy the views going down.

It was icy on some parts of the trail, but nothing that required micro spikes. They will probably be needed within the next couple weeks. You will need spikes if you want to go behind the falls though.

What can I say, basically nothing beats this for a day hike.

Great easy-moderate trail. If you want to make it to the top, watch out for a bouldering part that could be tricky!

Too many people to enjoy anything. Few had any trail etiquette or adequate shoes for the conditions. This made the hike unsafe, with folks blocking the trail or slipping and sliding into us. We couldn't get off the trail fast enough.

Very crowded, but not the hike's fault. Lovely and just enough of a challenge for an early morning workout.

Awesome experience!!! I loved everything about this hike!!

Amazing rewarding hike to angels landing, with the 360 views at the top making the uphill struggle worth it. Is strenuous with Steep incline to the top with lots of switchbacks and with the final kilometre having chains to help up to the top of angels landing along a steep ridge. Definitely not for those scared of heights. Took us about 2 hours to get to the top but took plenty of rest stops along the way and about an 1.5 down. To get to trailhead there is shuttle bus service as the road is for shuttle bus only but buses come every few minutes and run until after sunset. The trail was very busy even in mid November.

Very challenging rock scramble up...up..up! Loved it.

Really beautiful hike. Moderate in terms of the physical effort. Hard if you’re scared of heights.
