What a great hike! Definitely do the slot canyon, and if you want to avoid any crowds go early morning weekdays. There was practically no one there.

Love this trail and a great payoff at the end!

This is a heavily advertised, short hike right off of Hwy 89, so you are going to have lots of company. It's a short hike to some interesting stuff. You can wander around quite a bit in various directions, which I am sure is an ecological disaster, but that ship has sailed, so to speak. The hoodoos at Wahweap are more interesting, but you have to walk 4.5 miles to get to those, so this is a lot more accessible.

Second time to hike this trail. Love seeing and visiting with people from all over the U.S. and other countries. Took more time to enjoy the views and survey the slot for the best light. Moral of this story is slow down and enjoy!

Fun fast hike with a beautiful view and a neat little ladder ❤️

Super beautiful geology!
Be aware, hiking on a hot summer day is overwhelming, due to all the bright quartz sand, you can literally feel like you’re being cooked in the oven.
Bring water and shelter tree to tree from the sun.
just making sure you hike this in cooler weather, or plan for the extreme heat and sun.
The formations are definitely were this hike I have done it several times.

Great easy hike. A couple of places to shuffle up some rocks, but nothing my pregnant wife (2nd trimester at the time) couldn’t manage. Beautiful rock formations along the way, and fantastic views at the top. Watch out for snakes in the warm months.

Beautiful scenery and pretty easy to navigate. Highly recommended.
You will not be disappointed.

The trail was heavily trafficked on a September weekend, but the more difficult section called 'the slot' was worth fighting the crowds. Very cool formations and a nice climb to the top view point. Please wear good shoes if you go, and be aware of letting slow or fast groups pass or pull over as needed.

The views and surrounding areas of the toadstools was well worth the hike.

Loved this trail!

Absolutely beautiful. Fun climbs, stunning views. Nothing short of amazing. We went on a somewhat rainy day with a little hesitation. This trail is not to be missed.

Amazing hike through the slot canyons and a great view at the top. The canyon can be narrow at times so you have to watch your footing on the way down to avoid possibly twisting an ankle. Was hard not to take a lot of photos!

Fantastic hike!

Absolutely incredible trail. We had to wait a little while at the entrance as they limit the number of people on the trail. During the drive in we saw a tarantula making it's way across the road. The trail starts off easy and gradually becomes more narrow. It was very crowded, even on a Friday morning. You'll have to stop often to let people pass. The formations are amazing, as well as the trees that grow in the canyon. The rocks against the blue sky is breathtaking. Towards the end of the Slot Canyon Trail, the climb becomes tougher, there is some scrambling and actual climbing. The 360° view on top is absolutely incredible and worth the climb. Bring water, there is no shade and since it is so dry, you will need it. I highly recommend this trail!

So scenic!!! I advise sturdy hiking boots though. Saw an injury and too many people hiking in shoes that could easily cause a fall or ankle twist.

Slot Canyon trail was excellent. I went early (arrived around 0845) and was glad I did. 35 degrees when I started and 74 degrees by the time I finished. Some parts of the slot canyon really only allow for one way traffic so I’m glad I really only had to deal with the heavier foot traffic on my way down. A bit steep near the top, but the views are worth it! Bring hand sanitizer in case there isn’t anymore left in the bathroom at the trailhead.

The toadstool hoodoos are unreal. If you travel along highway 89 and pass by the place with an hour to spare, try to go to see this nature wonder. I went there in early PM in mid October. It was not hot, rather it was a bit cold.

Holy crap this hike was awesome! The lottery system keeps crowds down to 20 people per day, which you really appreciate when you arrive.

Great, easy trail, steep at the end but not for long. Took two hours total to go up to the peak, relax for a bit, then make our way down and around the cave loop. Only issue is the narrow trail through the slot canyon slows you down when you meet traffic.

It’s amazing to see the rock natural formations shaped like tents. Make sure to stop by the visitor center. We did not get to complete the whole hike as it was raining and the water was gushing through the canyon. Will surely be back to complete the hike.

Awesome, more "secret" hike in canyonlands.
It's a steep climb in and out, but the views are awesome! The kiva is currently roped off, but you can get close to it. It's a bummer someone ruined the experience for the rest of us by vandalizing it.

Be sure to read the brochures in the guestbook box about archeological site protection. Respecting the trails and sites are key to being able to enjoy these hikes for years to come!

Great hike with great views. Get there early or go on a less busy week. Long lines to get into the park. We waited about an hour to get in. Once you are in the foot traffic wasn’t too bad as the rangers limit the amount of people allowed in the park at one time. Took us about 3 hours to hike both trails, stopping for photos and to take in the views. Defiantly planning on returning during a less busy week.

me and a buddy did this trail and the views are Absolutely beautiful. the kiva itself is still roped off but the views are well worth the hike. we were the only 2 on the trail and at the end it became hard to see the next carine but if you look hard enough you won't have a issue.

This hike is definitely in my top 5 hikes in the US. Like others have posted, there are parts that reminded me of Zion. The hike is relatively short (3 miles). It took us an hour in and an hour out. The short detour to the Cave is nice, and a lot less crowded. It won't take you much longer to do both, as the Cave trail circles back around and ends up right at the parking lot. Go early!!! We we arrived right at 9:00 am. and were able to get right in. By the time we left, shortly after 11, cars were backed way up at the gate--probably a 2 hour wait in your car, as they limit traffic on the trails. The slot canyons were filling up with people, making it difficult to navigate our way down. I cannot imagine what they would have been like hours later. Also, if you have never experienced a slot canyon, don't forget to look up! Everyone always seems to forget that. Take the time to look up and back going through the slots. You will be glad you did!

I'm not sure why this is rated difficult. Fairly easy hike that was a little difficult to find. There are a few spots you do some light bouldering.

Do not follow goggle maps.
