Great for kids.

Overall easy trail with some great views. easy terrain just horrible trail rash, so if you dont want your vehicle to get scratched dont use this trail. Also I tried taking 2N45 to exit to the 138 and had to turn back, I know it turns into a black diamond rd after the fork with the 2N59 but I had to turn back because it was overgrown with brush and tree branches it looks like that part of it is not used anymore. So make sure that you take the 2N59 when you get to the fork. I started at palm st and ended at the 138 just south of the lake.

Do not leave anything in your car. My car was broken into there. Someone busted out my back window. Pretty scary, especially since this is a busy trail and people always coming and going, and your car is parked among so many other cars, with many people around.

Hiked this trail for the first time this morning and it was great. Parking was a little thin by 8:30am on a Sunday but not completely full. Beautiful scenery and plenty of birdwatching to be done throughout this hike, especially near the trailhead. The trail was in good shape most of the way. It became a little more sketchy after the turn toward the summit (away from Claremont Wilderness Park). The sun kept us plenty warm, even in mid-November! Enjoy!

Great hike. Tough hills all the way up. Great views. BUT...the bridge at the bottom is washed out. We were easily able to go below, but be warned. See photos.

Went night riding in my 98 zj. No fun offshoots. Trail options to finish south of silverwood lake

Love it!

Not too difficult, but it is all rocks so make sure you wear good shoes!

It’s a hard trail, that is pretty much ascending the whole way up. It goes from very steep to not as steep, but it can be intense from time to time. I took a separate rout that’s a bit longer but apparently isn’t quite as steep as the original route up to the saddle. Still, it was a great hike that took about 4 hours with intermittent stopping for air and pictures. It also had minimal traffic, which was really nice!

Great trail! I park at Oak Glen road lot, walk through the regional park, and I start my hike there. It's towards the back. If you take this route, it will also take you to Zanja peak. I find this route to be much more challenging for me. It's about 5.13 total miles from parking lot and back. It takes me about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.

our first time here going up was a great cardio workout make sure and pack a light long sleeve for sunny or windy days.

Loved it

Dislike. No shade. Lots of graffiti and trash.

Easy. Nice. But easy to get lost too. We somehow turned it into a 15 miler....in the dark.

Nice trail

Saw a few squirrels. Many people fishing. Be sure to pay the parking fee of $10. Good walk

This hike is pretty easy compared to its rating. I did it at night, while recovering from a cold. Going uphill sick wasn’t a joy, but the views are worth it! Most of the trail is well maintained with little rock issues. Once you get to the last half a mile it becomes lose, but still walkable. If you are looking to work on your cardio or sweat out a cold, this is a good hike. I didn’t see “shortcuts,” but from the map, they look similar to the path. The part that would make this rated hard would be the uphill motion, but it’s not difficult. It just pumps your heart. This is good practice for anyone looking to strengthen their heart.

My first time going there. made it all the way to the top. Worth the walk, great view.

Love this trail! It’s so beautiful, lots of scenery. My 5 year old son hiked it and he loved every second!

Very nice. Not that difficult.

It’s unfortunate that it was so graffitied up, but it’s a nice little treasure you wouldn’t guess to be there. We saw a pack of rams on the way in which an experience in itself.

great hike

Zanja is NOT as difficult as they say for sure. Beautiful views of Yucaipa, especially at sunset.
Need a really good flashlight if coming down in the dark because it’s easy to lose the trail.

loved it! simple yet beautiful!

Really nice hike! Had a great time. Please watch out for snakes. We found two on our trail.

Arrived at 0630 on a Saturday and gate was closed. Who's in charge around here?
