My favorite waterfall in Oregon. it's truly magical. The only downfall is the hike being so short.

Omg! So utterly beautiful! Worth every step through the muddy trail!

Easy trail. Beautiful falls!!! It started dumping snow on the way out. Roads were still ok, but would suggest a car with 4WD or chains.

Warning: Follow directions in the “getting there” description in the AllTrails app. Google maps MAY send you toward an unmaintained and unpassable road in snow season. Unfortunately, that isn’t immediately clear until you’re a couple miles up it. Turning around at most places may not be safe, either. I ended up ditching my 4x4 and hiking THAT road about 5 miles up. Another group in an Explorer made it much farther up the road to about 2 miles from the trailhead using chains but they had to turn back due to snow. Eventually, the tire tracks pretty much disappear in the snow. You can see others tried and turned back. By the time I was nearing the trailhead on foot it was about an hour or so from dark, so I turned around. Looking at Google maps, it appears that the road you DON’T want to be on (at least in a vehicle once the snow hits) is Champion Creek Road.

However, if you want to tack about 12 miles round trip to this hike, this is a fun way to access it on foot. Just leave early and take snowshoes for the last few miles in winter. You would park at the Upper Trestle Creek Falls trailhead, then hike all the way up Champion Creek Road. There is a sign at the bottom saying it is not maintained. I kind of enjoyed it even though I didn’t make it to where I was headed.

Brought tire chains in Dec this time, but never used them. Still some snow on the road. we hiked with four year olds and a dog and it was great. it is an easy trail to the falls, but difficult to climb up to the falls, which is optional. Definitely recommended. Paired with spirit falls was a 5-6 hour round trip from eugene for us.

This is a very easy, beautiful hike with the opportunity to camp in a 3 walled shelter right next to a small picturesque lake

The trail is very easy, I think moderate may be a bit of a stretch. The whole family can come for sure.

I had to put my truck in 4-low to get up the last stretch of the road because of the snow. If your car can’t handle the snow, I would recommend finding a place that you can safely turn around, and hike up to the trail head. The trail is pretty short anyway

I have gone here a ton and there is always something new to explore. Hundreds of roads and mines to look around. If you want to really see some cool stuff, contact the miners museum in Cottage Grove to get a tour.

An absolute gem and worth the long drive to get there. If you are lucky there is a hidden wonder to be found....

This remains to be my favourite summit hike. The elevation is high, but no high enough for severe altitude sickness. Ridge at the top was my favourite part. Took me 3 hours up and 1h 45min on the way down. It was a beautiful clear day, wore a sweater and a tank top. Sweater only came in handy at the summit. Drank 2 litres of water and a gatorade bottle. Will come back one day.

Took my mom on this trail, first half mile was a climb but with lots of breaks she made it. The lake is amazingly clear and pristine. Great place to spend the day enjoying the area!
Trail is clearly marked and easy to follow.

We took on this hike as a family on a cloudy Sunday after it rained the night before. The trail is a really well worn trail although in a few places the vegetation is encroaching on the trail.

The fire a few years ago really took a toll on some of the area but it is starting to make a comeback. The lakes are just as beautiful as they've always been.

There is a shelter and a bathroom near the biggest lake. There used to be a second shelter but it burned in the fire.

If you'd love a great overview of the lakes then take the upper trail to the rock outcropping that overlooks both lakes. The view is amazing!

A good trip, trail is steep but fairly short and the views are nice. It was also fun to rummage in the tailings of the old mine in the ghost town down below.

Bring poles for the top section. It's a great trail that gets more fun as you progress. I recommend climbing fast as this one can be used as an excellent conditioning hike.

Absolutely beautiful! Had an amazing time. The fire damage, yet heartbreaking, is interesting in itself. We caught some Brown Trout of the the larger lake and they were beautiful! I recommend visiting!

A nice climb up to the summit. The snow is almost completely absent from the trail at this point.

Like the previous report mentioned, there are a bunch of mosquitos, so be prepared. We also saw the same tracks in the snow, didn't realize they were mountain lions though.

Great family hike. If you can climb over some rocks and loose gravel you can go straight to the base of the waterfall.

First day my daughter and I hiked in from the east trailhead. It was a nice hike and not as much burn damage as from the west trailhead. I then drove to & camped two nights at the west trailhead off of Little River Rd. Definitely would have been a 5 but there was so much burn damage from the fires last year it wasn’t as scenic as before the fire. Also there was smoke from fires in southern Oregon that made the views smoke-filled. The lakes are good for fishing & swimming in the summer. Beautiful spot. The forest will recover from the fires in a few years and all will be lush once again. No mosquitos mid August.

Logging road 5847 was closed so we had to take an alternate route after having already traveled up the road awhile. It was very time consuming and I felt there wasn’t enough signage. Short hike, nice trail to walk on. The water was a nice break. Will have to go during a different time of year because it looks nothing like some of the pictures posted.

Good hike. The .6 is pretty much straight up from the parking lot but you can get right under the falls if you want to! Cool place to see! Follow all of our adventures on Instagram @themicrotourists

Fun hike up and down along the Umpqua River to the finale with Lemolo Falls. I also wish I could have had more time to hike to the bottom of the falls instead of the viewpoint on the side. Still and amazing experience.

It's fun to find the 3rd tallest waterfall and then see the 2nd on hwy 58 (Salt Creek falls). Watson Falls is a short and relatively easy hike with a great end result.

Nice out and back hike. We were able to climb to the upper part of the falls and the kids enjoyed playing in the water. Really shaded area with some beautiful trees and pools.

Beautiful walk in from the trailhead beginning from the south. We walked along a gorgeous, tree-shaded path along the river the whole way. Light traffic, only passed maybe 3 other parties both ways. The trail recorded ends at a top-down view of the falls (wish we had known it was also accessible from the base).

Beautiful hike. Did this hike on 7/21 with my family including an 8 year old and a three year old. I carried the younger. We made it very close to the summit but after the window/keyhole it got pretty sketchy with the little one so we turned around about 200 yards after the window. Bring lots of water, there is no where to fill up. My dog had a tough time because of the heat. She is in excellent shape but with black fur she was constantly hot and looking for shade. In hindsight I would have let her sit that one out even though she hates watching us leave without her.
