Trail is easy to get to... no 4WD needed.. and well maintained.

My 1st time there. Took my dogs and did about 5 miles. Beautiful options and lots of trails, i’ll definitely go back and figure out the trail system better because we went a bit off course on accident and that always makes me nervous!

Trillium use to be something of beauty.
Although the view will always be there..
The lake sticks&full of endless dead fish.
There's plenty of trash laying all about.
Disrespectful.
Besides being so heavy in traffic-any of the multiple lakes with less crowds will suit better!

My wife and I hike this almost daily. There are many trials and a road that circles around.the mid point of the hill. There are great views of the rogue valley and the surrounding areas.

Great hike and view of the Rogue Valley/Medford area. Make sure to find the small path to rocky ledge area when you get to the top for the view. Great sunset views and even if you get locked in, there’s a number to call so rangers let you out lol

Crazy rock formations abound. Easy hike.

Sun notch is a beautiful, easy, rewarding loop that offers a break from the crowds at the rim. I recommend this spot as a refuge for someone who is prone to vertigo and experiencing fear of heights, which can be intense elsewhere in crater. just gorgeous views of the lake and phantom ship.

Veda and Mirror are preferable to Trillium Lake. Crowds are awful. Trail is in utter disrepair. Signage sucks. It was overcast, therefore views of Mount Hood were non-existent.

To call this a hike would be a bit of an exaggeration. Went on a Sunday in August and it was so packed it took us about 10 minutes to find a parking spot. Entire lake was full of people on floaties and kayaks and paddle boards, all of the beaches were loaded with people... Just not the place to be if you're looking for a peaceful hike. That being said, if being at a busy beach is your scene, it was a beautiful beach with an incredible view of Mt. Hood, but it wasn't my thing.

So the directions take you to Riverside Camp ground which is fine and we started there, but there is a sign just before it’s a small wood sign on a tree and there is a parking lot so if your directions say 1 mile left start looking for the sign. Was a great hike for newbies definitely going back and did not see a waterfall

Nice, quick hike that offers amazing views of both the entire lake and Wizard Island.

This trail was tough! It’s pretty much straight up the entire way. Beautiful trail, my dog loved it

Short and easy hike to great views of the phantom ship. This hike has ranger led hikes in the afternoon and is wheelchair accessible. Pretty smooth gravel path with lots of “pull over” spots and a few benches. I agree that is should be rated easy instead of moderate.

Earlier posts and the USFS website are not accurate! The trail is open, clear and in great shape. Not a single tree was across the path. The Blanket Fire did a lot of damage in the area, including right around the springs, but, overall, the area is still beautiful. The area nearest the river escaped much damage, probably due to the moisture, and the rest of the area is a fascinating blend of healthy, blighted and burnt forest. Yellow Monkey Flower and Fire Weed were both in b full bloom along the river and on all the logs in the river. Hummingbirds were everywhere, and a lot of Dippers were in the water. And to top if all off, seeing such a famous and mighty river start almost immediately after coming out of the hillside was both humbling and impactful. The hike is fairly short, fairly easy and well worth the trip to get there.

1.5 hrs (1 hr up and 30 mins down) with 11 and 15 yr olds. Great views of the lake. Crowded but 4 stars due to smoke from wild fires. We got the views and we could see all the way across but not the deep blue color! Keep an eye on the crater webcam if you are not staying at the lodge. Dry and steep going up and starts at 7k ft so take water. And have lunch at the lodge after, while you wait for your table have a drink in a rocking chair on the patio overlooking the lake.

Love this hike, gives great views of the basin, crater lake, wizard island & phantom ship. It is short but it is all uphill. I went to watch the sunset on Garfield & I passed only two people who were headed down while I was going up

Super easy hike, and beautiful there, but not sure if it’s worth the drive

awesome hike, best to do in the early am. we started at 630, no one was on the trail. far busier after 8.

Did this trail early this morning (8/3) with spectacular weather and minimal crowds until the descent. I had the peak to myself for upwards of 45 minutes. I must stress the extreme crowds toward early afternoon-mid day. The hike is entirely uphill until you reach the peak, but nothing a moderately in shape person couldn’t do. Go early and enjoy!

It is a well maintained path with some great views of Ashland and surroundings. I recommend starting at the trailhead off Park Street. We started at the top trailhead and had uphill return.

Great views of the pinnacles! Not to be missed!

Nice short hike with great views of the Lake as well as Wizard Island. Some snow left but the top of the hike is accessible. High traffic.

Short and sweet. Well maintained, fairly easy uphill trail. Lookout is locked up and in rough shape but it's definitely worth the quick trip.

Great for new hikers with kids.

Great hike. Not too busy with amazing views at the top

Fun loop but much of the boardwalk is in disrepair. We went around cautiously and enjoyed the wildflowers.

Short hike but amazing view :)

Easy trail. Not necessary to go far for the best views. We went to the park boundary and saw the old stone structure that used to display the parks name. I assume this was once an access point to the park.

This was a pretty hike. You can get the best view of Phantom Ship from here.
