Excellent hike! The roots and puddles were a bit difficult but all around an amazing hike!! So gorgeous!!!

Great hike! Quite peaceful area.

Pretty hike, not terribly strenuous. Strongly recommend pre-downloading trail map as there's no cell signal (AT&T anyways) and the 8 mile loop requires hiking trails that are different names, would've been very confusing without GPS. Multi-use area so be prepared for atv and target shooting noise, and mtb's and horses on the hiking trail.

This is a great trail on a clear day. The views at the top are really beautiful. There is loose rock at some points along the trail but overall it wasn’t too bad. Be careful going downhill. Took a little over 3 hrs to complete round trip.

Oh my the lovely jarring sounds of motor bikes and attendant stench of petrol wafting through the trees. Then add Oregon’s finest doomsday “preppers” shootin’ up the hills. Finally top it off with the pleasure of walking through multiple clear-cut forests. What a wretched slice of Tillamook for a Sunday afternoon.

Awesome hike to this Clatsop County high point. On a clear day you can see Mt. Rainer, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, Nehalem Bay, the PacificOcean and the mouth of the Columbia River.

The muddiest trail ever. Crazy tree roots. Pretty views. Great for kids and not hard.

Lovely hike! Definitely agree that the lake is more of a pond. A little muddy in parts and might be difficult in the rain.

Awesome short trails. The kids loved it. Great views.

Hiked on Oct 12: no pass required, usually well-marked trail but wise to bring navigation...cross lots of gravel roads, could hear gunshots, off road vehicles...no scenic views but the University Falls was beautiful. Fall foliage is bright yellows, mushrooms starting to poke out. Nice terrain with moderate up and down incline and decline.

Amazing hike. Amazing views. Love burning calories on this trail!!!

Great hike but still closed. Once you pass the sign you can go down the washed out trail to the beach. It is very muddy but a good adventure. Still great views on the open part as well.

Gorgeous hike with amazing views of the Columbia River, the coast line, and five major mountain peaks on a clear day. It's mostly forested and easy the first half and exposed, steep, and rocky the second half.

Be sure to take the .2-mile spur to Humbug for more gorgeous views. This hike is easy enough if you're fit, but don't let it fool you, because it can also be treachorous. I strongly recommend good hiking boots with tread and hiking poles. The second half is steep with loose rock and wire fencing embedded in the ground that can be slippery without proper footwear. Even though it's short, be sure to take your ten essentials and enough food and water in case you're stuck with an injury. It's easy enough for the strongest hikers to sprain or break an ankle.

Nice hike in the fall to see all the leaves changing colors. Waterfall was bigger than I expected. Just wished you could get closer.

Well worth the hike. Definitely not easy, but I’m no expert hiker and did fine.

nice nature walk. part of the trail is closed. view of waterfalls was great!

Well worth the trip - easy drive up. 90% uphill on the way up so a pretty easy way down! Super windy at the top but the views were some of the best I've ever seen. a few picnic tables spread through out to bring some snacks and rest up! Low traffic end of September

I feel so blessed to have been on the top of this mountain on a clear day. We saw Mt Ranier, Mt St Helen’s, Mt Adams, Mt Hood, and Mt Jefferson. We stayed at the summit exploring and taking pictures for a good hour and completed this hike in 3 hours including that time on top The chicken wire on the trail helps with footing. This is a must do hike. You see the ocean and the snow capped mountains

Great hike. Long but many different terrain

Great trail. If you want to beat the crowd show up by 8

Awesome hike!!! Little sketchy on parts with mesh fencing put down on the trail, but overall pretty well maintained. Great views at the top!!!

Challenging, quiet and beautiful! Our Apple Watch showed 8.8 miles when we finished.

Fun trail. Strong climb. Well identified and guarded. Sturdy boots recommended and poles for those not-so-sure footed. Saw all 5 mountains at the top with even some high altitude cloud cover. The last third feels like you are in Scotland or Wales scenery wise.

I never get tired of this trail, it changes with the seasons. The Vine Maple is turning red now and there are a few wildflowers still blooming.

For a half-day fun near Seaside/Portland area, definitely do this hike. I did it with my partner, middle September and there were maybe five couples and a few solo hikers we encountered.

To get to the parking, it is 7 miles of long and windy, but well paved roads.

The hike is beautiful with the hardest part being the incline at the end. It is slightly deceiving because you hike up one mountain to view people at the top of the real peak. But at the top it is an unbelieveable site with ocean view, the state of Washington, and the mountains of northeastern Oregon.

Wore sneakers with good traction, did not need full hiking gear.

Side note, there are picnic tables scattered throughout so could just be a fun picnic hike as well.

Nice hike. Some beautiful views. Half the trail is very well maintained, the rest is roots and puddles. Went hiking on a rainy September day.

Did this trail with my dog and really enjoyed it. Not super difficult. The first 0.9 mi is up and down and then into tree stumps. The rest of the trail wanders in and out of beautiful forest, and the waterfall was a nice break. I saw only three other people on the trail, and the waterfall was empty for a good 45 minutes. The only downside is that the proximity of shooters is a little unnerving. I listened to gunshots the first 5 miles of the trail. After that it quieted down, but there were a few times that it felt too close for comfort.
