Great hike, serene setting and landscape.

Great hike! It’s a long haul to the falls, but completely worth it!!

This was a beautiful and easy hike. Mostly flat hike with some moderate up hill areas. The river is easy to get across on the logs, but could be hard with pets or small children. There are a few beautiful views of Mount Hood, especially near the river you have to cross. Ramona Falls was even bigger than I expected, it’s definitely worth the hike! The area around Ramona Falls is roped off for vegetation regrowth, so please obey the signs and don’t pass over the rope.

Beautiful!!

I am not from this area. I along with several other cars pulled over and parked in front of the gate right off the highway and waited for the gate to open. I read online and it says that it works off sensors and opens as several cars leave. After seeing about 20 cars leave and it never opened I got frustrated and decided to try my luck by going up the highway and turning around and entering from the other side. There is no gate on the other side. You go straight in. Beautiful waterfall.

I did this hike October 21st and the waterfalls are amazing. It is VERY steep so I would recommend hiking sticks and proper footwear. Would definitely not take kids!

Road to the trailhead is very well maintained for a forest service road. There are a few pot holes but they’re more like speed bumps and easily avoided, my Honda Civic had no issues getting there if you’re worried. Trail to the base of the falls is easy and short, if you want more of a challenge hiking to the upper trail #152 has some steeper sections. Couldn’t really see the falls from the upper trail but found some cool camp spots with a view for backpacking.

Just a heads up. It's hunting season. Worth the $5 to buy an orange hunting vest so you don't get shot. Ran into a couple hunters who informed me of hunting season and let me borrow a vest. Better safe than sorry. Suspension bridge was awesome.

We couldn’t find the falls even with the GPS... confusing signage and lots of red herring bike trails

Very nice hike. Not very steep, except for the short trail that takes you up to the Falls Creek Trail #152. I went up to the base of the falls and then to the viewpoint above the falls and then completed the loop and my Alltrails app recorded 6.5 miles.

I went yesterday. It probably rained that morning or the day before because the trail was pretty muddy and slippery. I’m glad I had a group of people go before me they lead me in the right direction. -:) Thanks

It’s Steep! I’m glad I had my hiking poles with me.
Wear a good pair of hiking boots with a decent traction.
Really good leg burner.
Should be easier to hike in the snow with micospikes. Gorgeous spot!

I'm sure this would have been a lovely hike, however, make sure you don't bring dogs or young kids. I went on 11/3/18 and the river water was rushing badly enough that we couldn't figure out a safe way to cross with dogs. We went up and down the river as far as we could find but there wasn't any where with a log large enough for a big dog to cross comfortably. Perhaps if we had harnesses on the dogs and could have them walk across with some help with the leash? We ended up turning around after my friend's border collie tried leaping off the log a foot in. I did see two sets of families with two big dogs each and I wish I had asked them how they got across. Overall, I'm willing to take risks but I'd skip this until Summer if you've got a dog large enough that you can't carry them.

Absolutely worth the hike, arrived just after 8 am on a Sunday and had the trail to ourselves. Definitely not kid or big dog friendly unless they can cross the log in the river. Round trip took about 3 hours and that’s with stopping up by the falls to refuel & enjoy the view.

It was just as pretty, steep, and slick as everyone said! It had been raining pretty good the day before and we had a picturesque falls on the left. If you want the huge raging falls wait for spring snow melt and rain.

Day couldn’t have been much better (unless it was sunny, twenty degrees warmer, and no other people...). I’d be inclined to reconsider this as moderate, or at least at the lower end. It’s thoroughly enjoyable, and the loop to follow the stream downward, to me, is absolutely worth it.

Last time I did this was a year and a half ago during a heat streak. Both times of year offer something different and wonderful.

Great hike! We didn’t intend to do this one, but we were finished hiking Ape Caves and realized this was so close. The first two sections are pretty great...rather short...so totally doable. Parts were a little scary since it was so wet out. The bridge was quite frightening for someone who is afraid of heights. More than adequate amount of signage. I would recommend this hike when it is dry out. Gorgeous views. Did not attempt to hike the most difficult part, I read in forums that it’s quite dangerous when wet.

Relatively easy trail. Follows creek most of the way to the falls. Awesome little peekaboo of the falls from the trail before you get to the lower viewpoint.

This was a great beautiful and easy hike! We had planned on making the loop bigger and checking out the views of Bald Mt. too, but my my partner was getting sick and not up for 13 miles! I’d do this hike again in a heartbeat!!

I'd suggest going to any of the other waterfalls in the area.

This is extremely packed with tourists, and the top of the trail is closed due to fire damage.

the waterfall is a great spot to stop for a snack, the river crossing was easy once we figured out where it was. gorgeous views of mt hood!

Wonderful hike and an easy trail to navigate once you've found the trailhead. If you're hiking upstream the actual trailhead can be tricky to find if you don't have service or good directions. If you're unfamiliar with the area I strongly recommend getting familiar with directions because GPS commonly fails here.

Beautiful hike! Could be a bit challenging for those not wanting to walk on a log to cross a small stream but aside from that the hike was flawless. A must when visiting Mt. Hood.

I e only ever done the very short part of this hike where we loop back after the suspension bridge but this time we decided to go right and continue on. I looked at the map and I saw where we could stay in the Lava Canyon trail by keeping left at the bridge. Once we hit SCOTT trail we took a little break over looking the river. We decided to go down SCOTT trail u til it met up with the upper part of Lava Canyon trail. It is t marked but you can see the trail to the left. Also I knew it was only .3 of a mile. They really should put signage there. The upper trail is all up! Looks like an old Forrest access road overgrown. But we had to take a couple short breaks to rest. It’s over 3 miles up. I believe we climbed about 1204 feet. I could definitely say no dogs past the suspension bridge and this is definitely rated HARD in my book. Scary at times. I am glad I did it.

My brother & I hiked this trail and it was yet another GREAT and WORTHY hike for sure.
There are some pretty AWESOME views on the way to the ASTOUNDING looking waterfall and is also a very good hike because the journey back has different views and is a different cool trail because it's a loop hike.

P.S. There are some GNARLY potholes on the way to the parking spot but as long as your aware of how and where your driving even a compact car like mine is able to make it without damaging your vehicle.

One of my favorite waterfalls in the Gorge!

Beautiful hike and fairly easy. Ramona falls is gorgeous and a lot bigger that expected. Highly recommended.

This was by far my favorite hike of 2018. Challenging, beautiful, fun and plenty to see. Went of trail to get behind and underneath some waterfalls, but nothing too crazy!

Do not go. But of you do go, tell others not to go.

Very picturesque and mild hike. The elevation climb was gradual that it felt very easy. It was an overcast day so we kept a good pace. The river crossing was easy since the water was low. The falls were smaller than I imagined but still quite beautiful.
