great hike to mirror lake but of you are going to go that far take the Tom dick and Harry trail all the way to the top and get views of five peaks at the same time( hood, Jefferson, Rainer, St Helen's, Adams) such an amazing view.

Absolutely beautiful hike to a stunning, cascading waterfall. probably best to AVOID WHEN RAINING you have to cross a river and The logs get very slippery....slipped and sprained my ankle...but,still worth it! Lol

I’ve done this hike a few times. The falls are beautiful and peaceful, perhaps the most spectacular on the mountain. Take your time enjoy a snack at the falls and snap a few photos on the bridge. Make the loop to see the rocky cliffs and walk along the stream. The only tricky part is crossing the Sandy River, but there are usually big logs and a couple of options for crossing.

Half the trail is closed right now (September 2018). Also a lot of selfie people out there :(
I offered to take pictures for them though!
Easy beautiful hike for the crew I was with though - husband, 4-year-old, 2-month old.

Went Labor Day weekend. If we didn’t arrive early we would’ve been out of a camping spot! Was a moderate trail to burnt lake, but with my pack on, felt like a long time to get there :)

I’d love to come back and do this hike on a clear day :) couldn’t see any views of Hood, but I’m sure it would’ve been stunning... a pretty easy hike no high elevation gain or steep inclines. It was nice

Mt Hood shrouded in clouds. Probably more impressive on a day with better views. Not too crowded for a Saturday. A portion of the trail is temporarily closed for repairs, but there is a fairly well worn alternative.

Accessible from the lower parking lot. Easy walk. Impressive tree.

This was incredible. Got there really early (about 6:30am) on Saturday. Literally no one else there for whole hike. The falls are beautiful and the rocks beard Ramona creek are stunning.

Easy hike, brief view of Mt Hood, nice areas to hang out by the water. Did this with our one year old and he loved walking around by the water.

It was easier than I expected, but I absolutely loved the hike! I'd love to come back and do it again. The view of Mt. Hood was breathtaking.

Great trail with a beautiful waterfall. Oregon at its best.

My husband and I hiked this over Labor Day weekend, and while it was a bit busy, we loved it. Definitely want to come back soon!

arrived at the trail head early afternoon and the parking lot was full so waited till there was less cars and then got on the trail. saw a few groups at the start but was quiet the rest of the way. the walk is enjoyable and the falls are sweet! definitely do this counter clockwise.

Nice view but worth climbing up to the top.

on Trillium Lake Loop Trail

The view was amazing all around! There are a lot of ducks and a beaver damn, but we didn’t see much other wildlife. There are lots of geocaches around the trail, but unfortunately a part of the loop was closed for maintenance.

This is one of my favorite hikes ever. Go up to the summit to watch the sunset and you will never be disappionted!! It's beautiful at all times of day however. My family likes to camp by the lake so we don't have to hike all the way down the the parking lot in the dark.

If you want to experience something unforgettable just come and experience the haystack for yourself.

If you're lucky enough to get a good picture of a puffin on your walk please share it.

Great parking and restaurants in the area so bring the entire family.

Nice hike... the view from the top is amazing

Spoiler alert: not so much a mountain like you might traditionally expect it to be: more like a large pile of rocks encircled by gorgeous trees wrapped in fog, especially if you get to the top in the AM. Visibility at the end can depend on this fog as well. If nothing else this is a nice challenge to add into your Mirror Lake Trail since you can access this trailhead from that loop around the lake. I highly recommend giving it a shot while you’re there for a nice workout and some scrambling at the very end to get that heart rate up!

Not a particularly challenging hike; however, I will say if you can get to the lake early perhaps around 9:00 AM at the latest and catch the fog hanging out around the trees, it is truly magical. Oh and if you want while you’re here, you should really take the Tom Dick and Harry Mountain trail for a little more challenging hike (although not too much!).

First half of the trail (to the falls) is alright, seemed really long, way longer than the trip back. Some good scenery, but again, second half is way more scenic. The crossing of the Sandy is a little cumbersome with a dog. Our 75 pound pit mix had some trouble, but eventually made it (both times, you have to cross twice) but it took some coaxing and some help on my husband and I’s part. If you have a bigger dog be warned, it might take some work to get your pup across.

By far my favorite hike up here. Easy terrain and fun walk around the lake before heading back down. And easy to get to by any car

Great hike, good trail but very popular and congested. Go early or later in the afternoon when folks are heading back for dinner. Beautiful views of Mirror Lake with Mt. Hood in background. 3hr trek

I parked at the big rest area on Hwy 26 and hiked down to the lake. While the payoff view of Hood across Trillium Lake was breathtaking, most of the hike down was a drag. Wandering through packed campgrounds, kids and dogs running around everywhere.

This trail was easy to find, quite easy to hike, and you can even swim at the lake. There are some nice views of Hood, but I would recommend hiking other trails in the area if you're looking for more of an authentic Hood hike.

nice hike, liked the falls and the views of the Hood. would have given 5 stars. if there was a better place to cross the Sandy.

While this area tends to be crowded, it wasn’t when we went there. It was a cold cloudy day, though.

The trail takes you along the lake through beautiful plants and forest. It is an easy and relaxing stroll. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see Mt Hood due to cloud cover.

At the time of our hike, the area was relatively trash free. About 1/4 of the trail was closed due to maintenance, so we couldn’t hike the entire loop. We’ll definitely come back to paddle or picnic.

Late morning hike. Had to cut it short because I needed to get back to PDX. Very pretty, very clearly marked. Interesting topography and soil. Much more arid and sandy than any other hike I've been on in Oregon. Worth the drive. Tuesday is a very quiet day on the trail.

Incredible views on a very sunny day. A little breeze kept me cool throughout the hike. First time here, and it is a very special place! Fairly quiet on a Tuesday morning. Nice time to come here.
