Fantastic hike with one amazing falls after another.

Exquisite and idyllic!

This was an easy hike with gorgeous waterfalls. It can get crowded, especially at the falls that are less than a mile from the trailhead, but the farther away from the trailhead I got the less people I saw.

One of my favorite hikes that I went to. Absolutely beautiful! The unpaved road definitely makes it hard to walk so hiking shoes are recommended (I used running shoes and almost slipped few times). However, the scenery is breathtaking!!!! I got to observe the nature in the most vivid ways— got to see the wildlife (bees, spiders, garden snakes, etc...).

Abiqua is a hard hike but it totally worths the time and energy !!! My friends and I felt accomplished !

FREAKING GORGEOUS!! Getting there can be tricky so definitely read the previous comments made by others. I got there and had such an amazing time thanks to the tips and comments I read on here. The unpaved road constituted half of the hike literally but once you’re at the trailhead, the hike itself is less than 2 mi. Steep hills but the ropes and fallen trees along the way made it a tad easier. The waterfall made it up for all of the hard work. A MUST SEEN! This is by far the hardest but it is also my favorite hike! Super peaceful and calm :) I’m definitely coming back

Hiked this trail on Sunday 9/9/18. Started about 2:00 pm and went counter clockwise. Clocked over 9 miles and 1400 feet of elevation gain. The falls are amazing, though a few were dry. Not as many people in the afternoon and going that direction. Make sure you have your Trail app on because some of the trail has no signage. Very well maintained hike with a push toward the end up switchback stairs. Will be back in spring when the water is higher!

Finding the trail head was a challenge. Spent about half an hour just trying to figure out where to start. Recommend having screen shots of directions as no cell service. My Subaru couldn’t make it all the way down so I hiked about 3 extra miles, GPS put me at about 5 round trip. It felt like a ton of work for the payoff but I’m giving 4 stars due to the lack of people (I went on a weekday).
Also, I wouldn’t recommend doing this with a dog unless they are very agile. I had to carry my 60lb pit bull up a steep hill because she was struggling.

I passed the entrance and got lost for about an hour, until a really good person showed me the right road. It is true that the further you go, the sketchy it get. I don’t think the road is meant for sedan car, so I will recommend to drive the road as far as you can and the condition of the road allows you. When you start to see the road full of very sharp rocks, park the car in one of the several spots along the road. Then walk from that point. You will find at the end a closed white gate, then turn back and find to your left one of the trailhead with a withe and black sign (see picture). Once you’re there, as you already read from other comments, in the Y section, take the left and you’ll get to the bottom with no complications. You will use the ropes to climb down, but it is really easy. Enjoy :).

This was a beautiful run to do, definitely stopped a few times to take in the sites, going counterclockwise around the loop, you get the gradual climb done first and then you have a gradual downhill and steep uphill to finish on.

beautiful hike, we ended up doing 10 miles by the time we got back to the car to make sure we saw everything we came to see.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!
Winter Falls and Double Falls are both dry at the moment, so unless there’s a bit of rain soon, probably not worth the trip - but even with the falls a bit drier, and having a lighter flow, I would highly recommend this. It’s not too difficult but it’s absolutely beautiful. It took me about 4 hours all up to do the loop, and I was taking my sweet time.
I did the loop counterclockwise (aka South Falls last) which I was happy with - except between South Falls and Lower South Falls there’s about 180 steps... that’s hard to get up after already clocking in a few miles haha. Barely saw anyone going that way for whatever reason - I barely saw anyone at all really. Early September, on a Thursday in the middle of the day... apparently a pretty quiet time for the trail ha!

much easier than we anticipated and the landslide field was easier to navigate than other reviewers suggested. we had our 10-month-old and he was super content, too! great hike to do in about 3.5-4 hours. we’ll definitely be back!

We did the 9.5 mile loop around all of the falls. We went clockwise, which was great to avoid the Labor Day crowds. But Strictly based on elevation, I think it would be easier to go counter clockwise. There were lots of fun areas for our kids to play in the river during the hike too. Overall the waterfalls were stunning and the trails were well maintained. They weren’t very well marked, so if you can keep the AllTrails app up, I would suggest you do so.

Make sure you follow signs for trailhead and not GPS. You’ll lose 4 miles if you don’t.

Beautiful ! So many waterfalls. Bring lots of water!

It’s a little on the tough side with boulder fields to scramble across and narrow over grown trails in sections.
The view at the top though, worth every step!

Spectacular views of the falls. If you only have a morning or an afternoon, I recommend parking in the South Day Access parking lot. Plenty of picnic tables, restrooms, and even a snack bar. For the hike, the Rim Trail up to the North Falls is very wonderful. Coming back to the parking lot, I opted for the Canyon Trail. Glad I did. I saw three more falls and each seemed to be better than the next.

This is one of the best atv and 4x4 dune areas in the United States. Several spots to camp and ride from your camp site. It is also a great place to hike with ovet 40 miles of trails that are off limits to atvs.

Your close to the beach, lakes, and awsome towns. One of my favorite places to go.

If you dont have ATVs rent from Steves atv. Good condition quads and rzr side by sides. The KOA is spotless and is a short ATV ride to the dunes

Crabbing here is also great. Crab right out of Charleston harbor. You can crab off the docks if you dont have a boat.

Fishing has been restricted but thats ok. No one needs more than two fish.

Whales are sighted all the time off Cape Arogo. Dont miss going there.

Overall just a real good place to visit. I am going on 45 years of visiting here at least once a year

“The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.” ~Alan Watts

I left a wonderful gift for you to find here. You'll know it was from me when you wake up tomorrow feeling magnificent almost as if something has awoken inside of you. Be prepared for the ride of your life! You're going to experience several days the most incredible love in your heart. You'll recognize the one you truly love in everyone you see. You'll be so intoxicated by the thought of that special someone that sleep and reality will blur together.

No matter what happens in your life enjoy the moment that is now! Today is tomorrows yesterday and you can never do it again. It is the reason why I'm forced to leave this kind gift for you to discover. I can no longer look back, it's time to move on, I can only hope for forgiveness because all paths lead you to where your heart wants you to be. J

Absolutely beautiful! A rain forest in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by agricultural fields, Silver Falls is a true gem. Even in mid summer all of the waterfalls are still flowing. They’re probably more spectacular in the spring and winter but it’s worth the trade-off of not having to deal with muddy trails. Late August the trails are dry and easy. Mid-week is pretty low traffic. We started at 8am and only saw one or two other parties for the first 6 miles.
The opportunity to walk behind the waterfalls is very unique and unbelievably gorgeous.

Highly recommend!!! If you’re even remotely in the area it’s a must.

The full loop was absolutely gorgeous!!! Make sure you arrive early, the entire lot was full on a week day. This is an easy hike the entire family will enjoy.

I can't imagine a more beautiful hike. Not so much of a workout at the pace we went, stopping so many times for photos and to enjoy the views, but worth every second. If you are at all considering this, do it. You'll be so glad you did. (But start out early, especially on the weekend--it will get crowded.)

on Trail of Ten Falls

Scenic views of waterfalls are plentiful on this hike. It didn't feel hard but one does need to be prepared for the distance. It was heavily trafficked on a midday Saturday – so don't expect a solitary experience – but that is to be expected. North Falls are worth the extra distance.

Trail is very steep in certain areas. Make sure to read previous reviews on how to get there and it is definitely worth it. We followed ROG's review and saved a ton of time.

Awesome hike and you get to see some really cool waterfalls. Love that you can walk behind some of them. I would grab a map at the start as there are some forks in the road. Cafe is a cool place to grab a beer when you finish.

Easy hike over beautifully maintained trail system. This park was created during depression days by the CCC and WPA programs. Cool history and awesome terrain. Fairly heavily traveled but no bikes or dogs. A real pleasure.

We knew going in that it would/could be a crowded trail, since we were going on a Sunday. My boyfriend and I arrived around 1 and finished the whole thing at 4:30. Not as crowded as expected. Great hiking weather. All around great time.

Easy to find and mostly well kept trail. Picking through the rock slide was difficult as the trail there wasn’t well marked. Beautiful view and not busy on a Sunday morning! Sure I’ll be hiking it again
