we hiked this Trail on Monday November 12th Veterans Day Holiday. it was a moderate Trail. it is a little bit Rocky in spots being dry out we didn't have any problem with slipping. it was a perfect time of the year to go no poison oak no bugs and a smaller amount of people hiking. would recommend is Trail to everybody

It's well worth the trip. The road was not as bad as previously stated. I took my Subaru Legacy up and it made it just fine. I suggest taking hwy. 199 to Selma then a left after Rays market, follow the GPS from there. It is a climb but there are Amazing views the whole time! You can even see Mt. Mclaughlin at the top. A bit windy and lots of shattered glass up there too. We only seen two other hikers that day. So peaceful!

I hiked this Trail on October 7th after a summer filled with smoke that finally left the view was breathtaking. the hike up the hill was not easy it is very Steep in places. it took me 3 hours to get to the top because I had to stop numerous times to rest. one of the best hikes I have done to date.

This was a very nice hike, will definitely do it again! For future hikes here I’ll make sure to bring bug spray. The gnats were HORRIBLE! I’m sure the beginning of Fall when the leaves start changing colors it would be gorgeous. Agree on there not really being “waterfalls”, and more like rapids. It’s a pretty designated trail, however, about two-thirds of the trail is made up of rock. Probably wouldn’t recommend hiking it when it’s raining, would be very slippery. There is poison oak everywhere, so for the ones that aren’t sure what it looks like, I would look it up beforehand. Also, there is absolutely no cellphone service, so I downloaded the trail beforehand, but like I said before it’s a very established trail. It’s shaded mostly throughout so that’s a plus! I consider it a dog-friendly trail if they’re trained well enough to not pull you while walking. Wouldn’t bring little children, unless they’re used to hiking because the trail in narrower and steep.

Loved this hike! Great view the entire time! Busier in the afternoon. The falls are actually rapids but still very beautiful.

Great trail for a solid hike with the dogs! Few good swimming holes about 2 miles in!

I can’t rate the trail-just the navigation to the trailhead, I linked to maps from all trails & ended up on a remote poorly maintained road. I was in an SUV & rode through deep ruts & over dead tree limbs but after 3 mi on this road I encountered a deep washout that I knew was impassable so had to reverse out until I was able to turn around. So, if you want to try this trail, see if there is a safer way in. I gave up & found an easy trail down the road a few miles..
maybe this is why there were no current reviews?

was any amazing hike. hiked this trail all the time as a kid. took my 5 year old son and he had a blast! only down side is we heard cars were getting broke into and gas tanks getting siphoned, luckily none of the cars parked were messed up however we chose to have someone drop us off and take the car with them. other than that this is a perfect hike for families, just watch the narrow spots!

I love this hike. Two trails to pick from. The one on the parking lot side is great in the spring time full of flowers, but in summer the one on the other side of the road is best it is mostly in the shade.

Just like everyone has said it’s definitely a strenuous hike since your climbing the entire time. Plenty of places to take a break in the shade.

Glass still all over the summit but I did take some back down with me.

Intended on hiking this early today, when parking I saw two cars with windows smashed in, decided against it just as a heads up to everyone. I was very excited to do the hike but didn’t want to deal with that.

Went in early October, beautiful scenery with mossy trees and trickling mini waterfalls. Lots of poison oak popping up so just and avoid it. Trail pretty narrow the whole way with steep drop offs to river so had to hold the 2 year old almost the entire trail. 8 year old loved it though and had no problems.

Love the hike. It was beautiful this time of year and the weather was perfect. Watch out because it’s super rocky and if you trip and fall you could go off the edge as the path is super narrow. I tripped and fell on my way back to my car. I’m a fairly new hiker so it was likely me and not the trail though.

Did both sides of the river. Beautiful hike.

Loved this hike! The scenery is beautiful. And there are some smaller trails off the main trail to get to the beaches by the water. I’ll definitely be back to hike this trail again.

Great trail! Great hike! Great views!

Love this hike! watch out for poison oak!

It's a great hike, but certainly not for anyone who brings a big dog. The trail is very narrow and extremely rocky at certain points. I would also caution against bringing young, inexperienced children on this trail.

Go to the other side of the river and hike whiskey creek. It’s way better.

Loved this trail. I hadn’t hiked in a while, so I had to take a lot of breaks on the way up, but it was worth it. The sign at the trailhead says 3.5 miles to the peak, so it’s 7 miles round trip. It was really foggy on the way up, but started breaking up at the top and we had a great view above the clouds. I will definitely do this again.

The views from the top are amazing. This is a strenuous hike so bring lots of water.

New favorite hike near Grants Pass. Easy to find, lots of views. A must do :)

Beautiful. Rocky paths with random waterfalls crossing the trail. Shaded the entire way. The falls are more of a drop in the river and less fall but a nice spot to have a snack and sit down. Hike is between easy and moderate. If your kids are hikers and know how to be safe, this trail is fine but if they’re they type of kids that don’t understand potential dangers, I would say skip this trail. There are a couple of drop offs but enough room to be safe as long as you’re paying attention. I wasn’t scared at all but I could see where some people could be.

Uphill all the way

This is nice, but not what I was expecting. You hike to a rapid in the river, not “falls”. Lots of rocks with no trail at times. Still better than being indoors. Hiked this in December.

Nice little walk along the river...but I would NOT recommend going out of your way to see.

Tried to summit on 3/11, made it to the false summit before getting into snow shin deep. We decided that was far enough and enjoyed the gorgeous view. No snow in the parking area, only after the first few big switchbacks.

This trail was gorgeous! the views of the river were great and we even saw a river otter!

however, from the trail head to the falls and back was 4.9 miles and not kid friendly.

great hike with awesome views! Just lots of rocks and steep drop offs..leave the kids behind for this one!
