Went all the way there and saw the parking lot with about 30 cars, stopped and turned right around. Not my kind of hiking I prefer only a couple people on the trail not a crowded zoo. Tuned around and hiked henline mountain trail instead. Much better

Nice area but was already kind of busy. I can only imagine how it is in summer...

Hiked on 03/28/18. Started at Fish Creek trailhead. Went to Pup Creek Falls. Fell into Pup Creek while making the crossing because those last two rocks were slippery! Gotta be more careful there for sure next time. Went to Indian Henry trailhead, then did the return trip, stopping again at PC Falls to add as many miles as I could to the trip. Total 16.3 miles for the day.

The only reason I gave it four stars was due to getting to the trail head. If you love to rough up your vehicle then by all means travel the last 5 miles up there early spring with pot holes the size of a car. BUT! Totally worth it. The pools and streams where beautiful and still recommend the hike

Great hike! Went last year, and plan on going again soon. Good hike to take kids, we even took one of those big wheeled child stroller’s. Much is a road. Ppl in the town are pretty friendly and it’s interesting to see how their energy set up runs.

Must pay to park; no prepaid park passes can be used. Make sure to pay at Fish Creek even if you park one car at Indian Henry. Trail is narrow and steep in some places but maintained well. Made passing others challenging in most areas especialyl with dogs. One large creek crossing with no bridge was extremely difficult in March. Trail is adjacent to the Hwy, some powelines, and you can hear the buzz from the electrical plant. Parking was full, we had to step through large amounts of garbage to get to the restroom.

The water here is the prettiest blue to turquoise.

Fantastic hike, gorgeous in every way, waterfalls, lush greenery, flowers, mushrooms, moss, all that's missing are the little fairies :) Took us about 5-6 hrs, just what we needed.

Couldn’t get my sportwagen through the snow today unfortunately but looks like a beautiful area! Going to try again in a month or so

does anyone know someone to contact for a reopen date of this trail?

Miss this place

Such a great hike! So many beautiful pools to stop at. Also a good place to go backpacking. I’ve been twice and plan on going again later this spring.

Always a beautiful hike! One of our favorites

This is my favorite trail!

is it closed?when will be open?

We only visited the lower part of this trail because we were on our way to Multnomah falls and made a quick pit stop. The waterfall is strong and powerful and if it's windy you'll definitely get some mist on you. It's a very nice area to stop and look at scenery and to hike if you're aiming for this hike. There's a huge pond at the bottom of the waterfall that you can walk down to but don't expect to not get wet!

Trail is good. Some ice around where the cliffs/water run off is. Trail could also use some weedwacking around the powerline areas.

This is one of my favorite hikes! I typically cross the first bridge to take the trail on the opposite side of the creek then come back through Jawbone Flatts and on the road. It’s a pretty easy hike :)

This place is amazing! So much to see and do! Crystal clear water. Multiple falls and the pools. Wow!

As many people mention, this hike is on a gravel road. To be honest, I would rate it easy until you go to the pools. If you choose to take the path from the pools back down to the bridge it is hard! Lots of rocks and water on the trail (late fall) plus if you go this route it is closer to 8 or 8.5 miles than 6.5 miles. I usually hike in goretex runners. My feet were sore from all the scrambling.

Long but steady hike. Nothing too steep on this hike but it is all uphill. Take your time on this fairytale trail :)

Beautiful views and nicely designed trails make this one of my favorite trail runs of this year. I did this counter clockwise which I recommend because the initial climb features tight switchbacks which I personally prefer to ascend. Careful on the descent as you get to Multnomah Falls as foot traffic is heavy there

Giving it a 4 because the waterfalls and pools, cool old equipment. vehicles and town are truly amazing!! I didn't like the slow gravely road to the trail head and I wouldn't classify it as a hike. More of a long walk on a gravel road until you hit the town and hike to the pools.
If you haven't been you should check it out though, with the exception of the weekends being extremely congested...Summer and early fall are best time to go!

My new “favorite” place

I wish I could give this 5 stars. The falls and the gorge are absolutely breathtaking. However, it is way too crowded. What makes you think everyone wants to listen to the rap music playing out of your portable speaker? It reverberates throughout the entire gorge. Did I also mention the stench of cigarette and weed smoke?

Bottom line:

If you want to party and socialize, come here during the warmer months.
If you want to actually enjoy this place properly, I suggest coming here during winter.

Great easy hike! About half is more of a paved path.

Lots of people in the summer or weekends year round. A little rain usually scares them off
