Great trail. Nice views

Great alternative to the Grotto! I found the trail itself and the lookouts very similar to the Bruce Peninsula National Park, but with fewer people. I would definitely do this trail again.

Brought the dog and kids, lots of rocks and vines to climb and step over through the trail, the first lookout point you can climb down rocks to go swimming, clean clear water, very cold, and slippery rocks underneath.

Nice trail! They changed it a little bit and the trail now starts from the highway approximately 2km to the west of the original one.

Beautiful short hike ! Lots of guests swimming off the rocks, so if you're interested in that bring a bathing suit. I would also recommend running shoes so you don't slip off the rocks.

Fairly active path, met lots of people, is quite the climb but it super worth it. Extremely unique and a little challenging.

Hiked this trail August 5, 2018. Started out early, around 8:30 am and met several people coming back on the way up. The first 2 km are a walk in the park but it then it gets more challenging as you get into more up hill hiking over lots of tree roots. From here it moves into scrambling over rocks up to the top of a hill (just a warm up to the Crack). You then have a decent and back into an uphill hike over tree roots before getting to the Crack. The Crack is a steep uphill scramble over more rocks but there is always a place to get a good foothold. It took about 2 hours in total to get to the top.
The view at the top is awesome but it started to get crowded around 11 am making it difficult to get good shots with foreground interest that didn’t have people in it.
Started back around noon and were back at the car around 1:30. The last kilometre was difficult even though it was easy trail. (Probably due to the heat and humidity).
The trail is well marked but you need to look up to see the markers. We were glad we took 3 1/2 litres of water. We drank 3 litres.
It would be a great trail in the fall or a great place to catch an awesome sunrise or sunset for those with experience.
We would rate the trail difficult.

Started from Hilton Falls Conservation area. Took the Bruce Side Trail and then the main Bruce Trail up to the bridge. Ok hike, views from the bridge weren’t as nice as I was hoping, but it was still nice to check out a new spot.

Nice hike, nice views. Definitely doesn’t deserve the hard rating however.

loved this trail. Pretty scenic and fun with different terrain in different areas with multiple look outs. Would do this trail again

Not an easy trail for the passive hiker, elderly, or small children. Beautiful views of the Lake in the end. Really enjoyed this short hike.

This trail has become over crowded. In general the hike is great and the views are amazing but in my opinion too many people use this trail at the same time and it becomes unpleasant.

Nice short trail that is generally a loop with good variation and views. Can get very busy on summer weekends so beware that without a reservation you may not even get into the park!

Nice trail with some variation. Much of it is through the forest on a well worn path. Some ascent required along the escarpment. Great views from the edge of the escarpment. Lots of options for shortening or lengthening the route by either taking the inland forest path and/or adventure trail.

It’s a weekly staple hike during July and August for us. Great way to kick start a work out and maintain your fitness level!

Great trail with gorgeous views as a reward at the end. Did the hike with my Australian Shepherd, so it is a very dog friendly hike.

Challenging hike overall - lots of rocks to climb over and through with steep ascension close to the lookout. Absolutely amazing view at the top and worth the challenge. Saw families and dogs on the trail. You’ll need a partner to help your dog over the toughest points to avoid injury. Going down is tricky so make sure you take your time. A bucket list hike for any nature lover!

Challenging and rewarding. We did the hike with our two kids in backpacks. (3 years and 15 months). It was challenging at times but doable for sure. Saw lots of families and groups on the way there and back. Would recommend having one adult per child of hiking with kids. Going down was far more difficult than getting up. Views are paramount. Really great hike.

I would not rate this trail as “moderate” and Lake of The Woods as “hard.” This trail’s elevations reserve it for more serious hikers. You can bring older children that are accustom to hiking with proper footwear. The views are remarkable and the traffic is light.

Amazing hike with breathtaking views ...... takes about three hours there and back and as an hour to enjoy the views up top......

Was a great hike. As others have said the first part of the trail was very buggy and I got eaten alive, however the view from the top was stunning- a nice spot for lunch before heading back down.

Awesome! Make sure to bring good footwear and go on a day when the lake is calm to maximize your visit!

Good hike. Only the last part is scrambly. Good views from the top. It took me 2:40 hrs to complete the hike.

Hate to say it, the hike/trail and scenery was better than the pictographs. Still worth the trek down. Not an easy go to reach bottom. No taking granny down.
If your in health and good knees, your good to go.

great trail, did it during spring break, still tons of snow.. would definitely not suggest going in the winter. hard to climb

start from Hilton falls for this trail. beautiful views

went to go see this trail it doesn't exist anymore it's a quarry with no trespassing signs all over

Age 37 male, 135lbs. Did this with my 35-year-old gf. I found it really easy. If this is labelled 'hard', it kind of makes the 'hard' designation useless, since there are countless trails I've done that are much, much, much more challenging. It's still a nice little hike... simple walk on a path through the woods for the first half, then some nice going up rocks until one gets to the top. Nice views up there of the surrounding area. We went on a nice sunny weekday in mid-June, before school finished for the year. There were people certainly, but not too busy, starting at 11am. Didn't see any wildlife. Bugs were annoying and got some bites despite multiple OFF sprayings, but not horrible. If we had put on our nets and all that, we probably would not have been bitten at all.

Without question one of my favourite trails. Some fun scrambling rewarded with incredible views!

Awesome walk lots of fun..
