Definitely a chill hike, play in the mud on the way up and wash it off in the falls as you swim in some amazing pools!

Great trail. Great pool below falls with some good jumping into water from 10-50 ft elevations for daring. Muddy. This is not a trail for flip flops or tennis shoes, should really use hiking shoes....Dozens of blown out flip flops on trail. A nice 3 hr - 4 hr round trip with time at falls and pool. Very muddy ... not too buggy but you will get bit by a few mosquitos.

They say it's only 0.5 miles up and 0.5 down... The hike up is on a paved path but it is STEEP. Maybe it's because we had just hiked 8 miles for Charlie's Bunion.. The views we're worth it, though. Make sure you bring a light jacket. On top of the observation towers, it's 20 degrees cooler. If there's fog, just wait 5-10 minutes and it'll move! Panoramic photos are a must!

Definitely a must see if you're in the area! 4 miles up and 4 miles down. The first 2 miles are mostly up hill but don't get discouraged! It is definitely worth the hike. When you eventually get to the "Charlie's Bunion" sign, most people take a left toward the "Bunion". I recommended taking a right to stay on the AT. There is a small trail as soon as you form to the right on the left hand side.. Take that straight up to the trail less traveled for an even BETTER view of the Smokies! This is the highest point t possible to view the Bunion. Make sure you bring plenty of water and snacks!

Gorgeous waterfall/ pond to swim in. Muddy hike that was a little tough to follow at times. Shady. Not child friendly.

Great trail. Took my 7 yr and we had the Bunion to ourselves for 40 amazing minutes today. Trail is absolutely moderate, not hard but not easy. First2 miles is uphill but then levels out to a nice high forest. The length should not be a deterrent if you bring enough food and water. Great views but the Bunion is small. Could be dangerous when crowded.

It is just a path up to a viewing point. Not a hiking trail at all. Crowded at the viewing point also, unable to snap a picture without others in the way.

The view was amazing! However, the hike was paved (which in my opinion takes away from nature) and it was highly populated and a steep climb with 3 littles!

Very well kept trail. Challenging but doable!

My friends and I did this hike last Sunday (8/12) and were somewhat disappointed with the closures on the trail. Also, the entirety of this hike runs alongside North Rim Drive, which really takes away from the majesty of hiking in the wilderness.

We started this trek around 3 pm and arrived back at our car around 5 pm. Instead of starting at the Upper Falls, like the trail map suggests, we actually began at the Brink of the Lower Falls Trail. This ended up being the highlight of our day, as the views looking back into The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone were absolutely breathtaking!

After making the trek back up to the road, we continued onward to Lookout Point and Grand View. We would have liked to reach Inspiration Point but were met with a closure sign upon arriving at the trailhead, which really put a damper on the day.

We did end up driving along the South Rim Drive to Artist Point, which was a pleasant consolation, even though Inspiration Point provided a higher vantage point and an entire view of the canyon, which we missed out on.

If you’re looking to escape the masses on the road, this is not the trail for you.

A lot of trees covered some of the great views but the ones we found were spectacular. A great hike into a temperate rainforest.

stunning views, but it's not really a trail. it's a paved walk around the edge of the canyon hence why I have only rated it three stars.

Prepare to walk through water more thanks once to get to the beautiful water fall. So worth it.

Easy hike, tons of places to take the kids to play in the water. Awesome waterfall. Definitely a must see!

Bring a towel and a swim suit the pool at the base of the falls was very fun to play in! A really fun trail that is a little challenging especially closer to the falls. This trail offers stunning views of not only a large waterfall but a view of the surrounding valley at different places alone the route. I went in early August and it was very crowded but there was plenty of room to pass large groups and also plenty of places to rest going up/coming down.

A good hike. Only opens on Fridays to Sundays. Mostly unpaved, with rain it could be a bit muddy. My 5 year old did it. It took a bit time to hike up, but coming down was a breeze.

Fantastic hike, amazing views

This hike is easy to moderate there are some steeper switchbacks but it’s not that hard and it’s in the shade. It’s pretty dry up until the last 2-3 miles then it gets more green the higher you go up and it’s very pretty. The view of the lake is amazing. I didn’t swim in it because I fear of dead bodies and sharks in all water lol. If you have a dog bring them because they will love swimming in the water there was two waterfalls and areas of water going on the trail so if your dog is thirsty that is a plus. Rocky in some areas and the tree roots are coming up in some of the trail so watch your step. Did see beat skat that everyone was talking about but saw no bears at all

Not a hike at all, paved pathway around Sloans. Beautiful nonetheless! Normally pretty busy.

Great little mostly paved trail. Killer views near the top. Watch for bears, though.

Don’t get me wrong, the views from the observatory are breathtaking and definitely deserve 5/5. But there were hundreds of people there and felt like an amusement park and not the great outdoors. That’s probably me being an outdoor snob, to be fair, but if you’re a fan of nature and pure hiking I’d do this one later.

Totally too easy of a “hike” but very beautiful with the river and falls!

A moderately easy trail with an awesome waterfall and swimming hole at the end.

Great hike! The trail is black top and is very easy. We hiked on a Sunday early afternoon and it was very crowded. The falls are beautiful but there were at least 75-100 people there. We continued past the falls. The black top ended and so did the crowds. On the way back we saw a very young black bear cub. Beautiful day and views.

Didn't have 10 dollars for a day pass so I didn't get to experience nature.

Easy

Okay hike. Completely paved, which can be nice but also less exciting. There were tons of people there when we went but understandably so: the falls were gorgeous! There is even a little path to talk to get a lower vantage point of the falls.

Worth every step!
