Olympic Peninsula 2018 Map

We started out early in the morning, had the whole trail to ourselves until the very end when a young couple caught up with us. Love the effort made to make the trail manageable with steps at the end. Have a bad knee but the trail was manageable and enjoyable especially in the beginning it was an easy stroll.

I would call this more of a leisure walk, not a hike. Very good for small kids and older outdoor enthusiasts. Saw a couple small deer walk out into the meadow, obviously not afraid of people that were on the trail. Paved trail the whole way, but a nice walk. Nice views!!

Great short hike when visiting Lake Crescent, my family has been coming here for more than 40 years. The old growth is awesome and the falls are quite pretty. Great for kids but keep them close after crossing Barnes Creek. There are several log bridges with simple handrails and steep drop offs near the falls. Saw a child rush across log bridge, slip and fall into ravine below. Banged up with bloody nose but not seriously hurt.

you drive right up to the views so it's not really a hike but it is stunningly gorgeous. we we're lucky enough to experience a clear day, being able to see all the way to the Canadian Rockies. apparently it's typical to not even be able to see the water!

Feels like cheating driving up to the top, but the views are amazing. Real easy trails up here. Gorgeous views all around. Got very lucky with visibility and were able to see all the way to the Canadian Rockies!

Amazing to see some snow blocking part of the trail in July (although easy enough to walk over with care) on this lovely short hike. Great views from Sunrise point and the deer and marmots were in abundance too. Hurricane Ridge road has some major roadworks leading to a one way stretch with a pilot truck that causes delays - but we noticed that by arriving late in the day (4pm) and leaving around 7pm, the road was fully open on the way down making return faster. Wildflowers currently seem best on the slops a bit lower down, so maybe a few weeks from peak higher up.

Amazing trail. Giant trees along the route but very easy hike. A couple nice viewpoints of the waterfall.

The trail kind of keeps going into a well established but sketchy trail to a set of upper falls. Be very careful if you do that section though as it gets a bit slippy and really close to the edge. Not an official part of the trail.

We did this short paved walk (along with Hurricane Ridge trail - it’s basically the same trail) at 7 pm and it was BEAutiful! Deer are everywhere and they’re not afraid of humans at all. The lighting was fantastic for pictures and the landscape was unbeatable for almost no effort. If you have a quick half hour to waste, do it up here.

There’s still a couple of yards on the Cirque rim trail that are closed due to snow, but there are other paths diverting from that one that it doesn’t make much of a difference.

It would be a great short hike but it’s still closed off due to snow. Don’t waste time walking around like we did, drive up to the Hurricane Ridge trail head.

Easy quick hike from the lodge asst lake Crescent

Super easy hike, great view of the falls.

easy hike with a nice little incline at top for a great view of the falls

Went up last week and it was beautiful seeing everything covered in snow and ice. The steps were pretty icy but good hiking boots will help keep you off your backside.

It’s all about the views on this one!

We were hoping to do more in the area but in the end ran out of time. This short trail is just perfect for such an occasion - it takes very little time and the views in all directions are just stunning. Not much of a hike, but as short walks go, it's great. Also the deer and marmots seem used to humans, so you can watch them from fairly close up.

Easy climb, and tons too see. The waterfall is great.

Breathtakingly beautiful area... we were there in mid-May and there was a lot of snow on the peaks and in the visitor center area.

Small fall and easy hiking

Very pleasant and easy hike to a beautiful waterfall.

Beautiful views and wildflowers as well as some deer.

Great little hike, nice and easy, I took my 9 yr old. There is a bit of a climb up to be able to get to the viewing point of the falls, and it's a little steep going down. Would most likely be a bit challenging for someone with with achey bones. All in all it was a beautiful trail for us who at the time of going were newbies to hiking.

Loved all the mountain goats!

Worth the time, since you drove up there, it's the least you can do at the top, otherwise there really is not much other to get out of the car for other than to snap a few shots looking SW at the mountains. Stretch you legs out before your return trip to Port Angeles
