Hiked the trail to just over the 4 mile mark today. Beautiful and well maintained trail, with river views, forest views and surrounding mountain peak views. Light snow early on the trail, getting progressively deeper at higher elevation (above 3,400 feet). Mini crampons highly advised since traction gets slippery. Gaiters recommend if you don't have snow shoes and snow shoes also advised above 4,500 feet. Snow depth increasing at altitude to a foot and more.

This is a wonderful hike, with great scenery and little traffic in winter. We briefly passed 1 other person on the trail and didn’t encounter anyone else all day.

Be prepared to get wet if you go in the winter! The falls were incredible. It was a very easy hike and took us about an hour to get there, take in the falls and relax a bit, and get back to our car. Some tourists in running shoes and umbrellas managed it just fine, too!

An absolutely gorgeous beach with lots of driftwood, rock features and a pebble beach that grades into sand towards the water. Easy access and definitely worth the trip. I visited on December 24th and it was chilly and fairly busy around sunset but what a gorgeous sunset.

Graveled path for most of the way and beautiful forest.

Very easy trail that meanders along a river and a smaller stream. Last few hundred feet to the waterfall are very steep and require a climb up a few dozen stairs. However, the end experience is well worth the effort.

So pretty! Parking gets full pretty fast, people like to camp on the beach overnight (me, too!). Easy walk in. Stairs built in. Climbing the driftwood to the beach is the most difficult part, and I spotted a snake here (:
Cool tidepools along the beach with a little cave at the end if you walk the whole thing! Sleeping here you get an eerie noise of wind blowing through the keyholes of the rock formations in the water. Very cool. Windy. Bring fire supplies! Enjoy!

This was probably my favorite hike I've ever done! The forest was so whimsical. lots of foliage, mushrooms, waterfalls, and it's easy! don't forget to wear boots and bring an umbrella :)

Easy hike with great views. Go early - before 8am for least crowds, good light and a run.

Super fun trail run. Big beautiful old growth trees and well groomed pathways. Perfect family or relaxing trails. Make sure to take the detour to the Crescent Lake Lodge!

love this beach, it's about a 35 minute drive from Forks. Easy to locate, grate place to walk my dog. Best during low tide when you can walk out to the tide pools and checkout the starfish and other critters in the tide pools, beautiful scenic views. (the old logs that used to make access to the beach difficult have been cut down to make a path)

Not much of a hike, but amazing views! The sunsets can be amazing if it's not too overcast. Also - the stars are so bright! No light pollution.

So I rarely give 5 stars to anything. I loved this hike. Something interesting to see at pretty much every step with variety and beauty. Starts with nice forest and a beautiful river with multiple waterfalls. Then you break out to beautiful rugged views and rock fields in avalanche chutes. Meadows and old growth throughout. Wonderful views of Mt Baker along the way and the Olympics at the top. It is strenuous, and a constant climb. Per our garmins 5.6 miles each way to marmot pass. But so worth it. The day we went was beautiful and clear.

Beautiful spot as always..no rain today like 2 yrs ago.trail wet and muddy in a cou0ke of spots not too bad..beautiful pics!

Easy, pretty well maintained hiking trail. I went with my 60+ year old parents (who are relatively healthy but certainly not big adventurers) and they were okay. Overall an enjoyable experience

Incredibly simple trail down to a beautiful waterfall. A bit crowded due to the ease, but would still highly recommend because the waterfall it’s an atypical one.

Amazing scenery right around the corner from the lodge. Hiked (I guess you could call it that since it’s pretty easy relative to 2nd or 3rd beach) once in the dark of night for some astrophotography shots and then again in the morning. Even though we had hazy weather the scenery was fantastic with great reflections off the beach.

Added on after hiking Mt Storm King and it was a pretty lackluster waterfall compared to others in the area. Trail was crowded due to being an easier hike.

This is a great trail to just take in views of the surrounding areas. Although there were definitely others when we went around mid morning on a Sunday, it didn’t really feel too crowded. You are definitely climbing a little but there is nothing too steep. The path is wide and even, which makes it easier. The views of the surrounding mountains and of the water are spectacular. You have many opportunities along the trail to see so many beautiful things. Would definitely do this again and definitely do it mid morning or earlier since it looked like it got cloudier as the day progressed.

It's a continuous climb the whole way. Never too intense, though. And the views across the valley at the top are incredible. Late October it was cloudy, and a couple inches of snow at the top.

Nice easy trail. Loved the waterfall. Seeing it up close lets your really feel the magnitude of it.

Well maintained easy trail with some steep steps nearing the top of the waterfall, signs say no dogs allowed but the ranger seemed happy to look the other way when we walked by with our dog on leash.

Great views today all mountains are out and looking beautiful!

great easy hike.

Terrific views of majestic mountain ranges along most of the trail. Worth the 17-mile winding road up.

This hike was my first introduction to the Olympics - WOW! So much to see all the way to the falls. Easy to extend your hike by taking one of the three trails that start just past the falls, which are far less crowded.

Very nice trail to do, specially with the nice weather of today. Sure something to do.

Great starting point for multiple other hikes. No snow at all.
