It was nice, very easy little hike out to the lookout decks.

It is muddy and slippery in some places, but the view points at the end are spectacular. We got to see nesting Murres and listen to their cute calls.

Yeah- the trail there is a little muddy right now but not that bad- enjoyed the beach. It wasn't as busy as Rialto but a bit longer to get to some of the rock formations. Still well worth it- And you will need a permit from the Makkahs

so worth it you will love every step

Great hike if you're looking for something short and sweet. Also well worth it to explore the smaller trails branching off from the main trail. Great views guaranteed, even with cloud cover. Tons of people on the trail though, so expect plenty of company!

The trail to the beach is a bit muddy, but well marked and easy to follow. Getting down to the beach is a bit of a climb, but easily manageable if you take your time. There were plenty of families with small children hiking without difficulty.

We did the triangle over two days and one night spent at Sandy Point. We hiked to the point in the afternoon (a quick easy hike in) and set up camp.the area is beautiful and it’s hard to beat the tide pooling! The hike out the next day was beautiful! Be careful of the tides!

Wow! Go!

Great walk! A few more people than I expected, but great to see folks enjoying this wonderful stretch of land and sea. Take a meal and take your time.

The Cape Alava Trail is a mostly level hike through a varied old growth/second growth forest with interesting open "prairies" of stunted forest growing in bogs. In August the prairies were actually hot and humid on the return hike. Much of the trail is a boardwalk owing to the muddiness of the forest floor. Payoff is arriving at the coast and Wedding Rocks with some interesting petroglyphs. Most use this trail to backpack north on the coastal trail to Point of Arches, but Lake Ozette is a great secluded camping area itself, especially if you bring canoes/kayaks. Get there early, there are only about a dozen first-come campsites at the lake.

One of my favorite hikes. June and July usually have less mud. I haven’t been in a few years and the addition of stairs make the decent to beach much easier. Low tide allows you to find sea surprises.

Yes! Yes! You haven't seen it all, unless you have seen this trail. I took my kids when they were 3&5 and they did great. Highly Recommended. A favorite.

A beautiful hike. Easily one of the most spectacular sights in the Pacific Northwest. The road to Cape Flattery is a little long being that it's long and full of curves. Once at the trail head, it's an easy hike down to the end. There are three lookout points including the one towards Tatoosh Island and the Lighthouse so make sure not to miss them. We went in early July and the weather was perfect. We were especially lucky to see whales swimming out in the water along with Bald Eagles, Sea Lions, Oyster Catchers and a few Banana Slugs. I highly recommend this venture as it showcases the beauty of the Pacific NW.

Definitely different!! Be aware of tide changed and wear good enclosed shoes that grip well. Beautiful hike. Saw sea lions on rocks in distance. Long drive on curvy rough road to get there.

beautiful...not too crowded, easy hike

Classic northwest hike . . Even though it’s only 1.5 miles rt . .ya gotta do it. Suitable for most people . . No tripping hazards . . there is a 7% grade directly from the Trailhead, but it flattens out after 500 feet. Beautiful lookout at the end of the trail . . I knoooow . . A long car ride for such a short trail . . A must do!

This was a really incredible site. A little scary as off the main trail you can get some really cool views, but no railing right next to the cliff! I recommend taking those trails off the main pathway if you are a photographer to get an awesome shot without the crowds. Enjoy!
