great place. going to go back again soon
Easy little walk down to the beach from the lot. Gorgeous beach, with sea stacks, driftwood, and big waves! The rocks on the beach are quite large, so wear stable shoes.
very easy & picturesque. It was sad to see how many people have made their own trails. stay on the marked trails people!!
The front gate was open and we were able to drive the 14 miles back to the trailhead. I think this was because there were people working to get the resort area ready. The park did not look officially open as there were no rangers present and the trails had not been maintained. If you take the trail, be prepared to climb over/ around fallen trees blocking the path (at some points that makes it tough to find the rest of the trail). Small amounts of snow were still present, but nothing to worry about, just makes it a bit mucky.
The Hoh Rain Forest feels like another planet! The greenery everywhere is amazing, I wanted to stop often to take photos. A little muddy & cool for this time of year, but doable. Make sure to wear clothes/shoes you don’t mind getting dirty!
This was really cool but crowded and bad trail etiquette- which I get being so easy. It’s amazing nature and forest bathing when you avoid ppl. There was a group of Elk right at the water entrance - Spruce Trail was much better. Beautiful day.
We did this on 4/5 - amazing day, we tried on 4/4 and it was crowded in the PM. Went at 9 am the next day and had it all to ourselves- highly recommend that since it’s so popular. Amazing PNW vibe.
Very busy even for a Monday. Short but sweet trail.
Never seen anything like this before, amazing!
Great trail! I would suggest doing a weekend trip and taking all the trails. This one is fairly easy, seen kids on the trail, pets aren’t allowed. Wear some rain boots! Lots of puddles and sticky mud! Just how we love it!
Super fun short hike. The drive in was much longer than expected but so worth it! Lots of parking and the trails were very well maintained.
Easy 1 mile walk, almost completely flat, and absolutely beautiful! Definitely wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy and wet.
Beautiful simple hike, highly recommend! A bit muddy but that’s to be expected in the rainforest. Go early in the evening for the trail to yourself.
This was a good hike. I only didn't enjoy it as much because it was my third hike of the day and I was tired and sore. The views were very pretty though and there was so much green! Worth it if you are looking for an easy family-friendly hike through lots of moss.
Go for the outlandish atmosphere (and elk)!
Beautiful trail for all ages. You’re going to get wet and muddy, might as well embrace it.
I would give this a 5 if the trails weren’t full of standing water and mud, and if there weren’t so many people. It was beautiful but I couldn’t get many great pictures because there were people everywhere. Don’t do this hike if all you have is tennis shoes. You DEFINITELY need hiking boots or rain boots. Saw a dude in crocs. Not a great idea.
Loved this trail. We did it on Saturday, March 20 at around 6 PM. There were still quite a few cars in the parking lot but the crowds had died down. 1.1 mi easy trail with a lot of interpretive trail signs. I wasn't really into mosses until I did a local trail in Granite Falls and became fascinated by them. I felt like I was in an enchanted forest. I will bring my kids here next time. Since we had limited time, we only did Hall of Mosses trail. But next time we'll probably do the Spruce trail and HOH river trail at the same time.
