ohio trails to explore Map

Can be slippery around either falls in winter. Getting down below either falls to take pictures should be done with care due to steep areas. It’s better to go a bit down stream and work your way back than to risk a fall. Can be muddy or wet. Crossing stream is required to get to the lower falls.

Once again it was a beautiful trail, however some of the inclines might make it to difficult for small children. The water fall it self can be accessed from the road so taking the whole trail isn’t necessary in that case. Waterfall is smaller but is just as beautiful as the larger ones.

Can combine with the other out-back trail to make as much as 8 Miles. Be careful after heavy rains or snow melts...trail is pretty low and can have areas flood. Very well marked. Lot of wild life, deer are nearly tame. Clean bathrooms and lots of parking. Highly recommend

Hocking Hills is amazing, so beautiful.

I did it two weeks in a row. The first week everything was frozen and ice covered. It was very difficult to get down some of the hills, but, the creek was very easy to cross because it was frozen. The next week, it was in the 70's so everything was melted and it was very muddy. The creek was running high because of recent rain so, of course, the boots got wet. Misjudged where to step one time and ended up with water in the boots. It's a nice somewhat challenging trail.

Very fun hike! My wife, 10-year old daughter and I really enjoyed the varied elevations and beautiful views of the river. I would say the hike was really more of a moderate level, but a great time nonetheless.

Awesome trail even during winter months, with friendly hikers and mountain bikers. A couple of well placed picnic tables to grab a snack. Probably moderate in difficulty.

It can be very secluded if you go at the right times. Really beautiful waterfalls and streams running through this area. One of my favorites.

Enjoyed Nice winter Hike
Cures Cabin Fever....

While I really enjoyed this hike, Moderate in not how I would describe it. It is really hard, I thought, and with the leaves and tree nuts on the ground, it was like walking on ball bearings. I found myself on my behind more than once. But it really was beautiful for a late November day, we saw 5 deer, a couple of woodpeckers and piles of squirrels. And our dog had a blast.

Nice trails.

The falls are beautiful. The scenery is just overall amazing!

Completed the north and south loop in 4 days total. 40+ Miles all together. There is a lot of discrepancies between maps and mileage markers from camp to camp. Doing this is 4 days kicked our butts. Loved the challenge but 5-6 days would make the trip a little more enjoyable and less painful by the end. Definitely don’t attempt to complete in 4 days if you aren’t in decent shape. Just as the paper at the trailhead says, you will know just how in shape you are just a few hours into your hike. Beautiful views at all of the peaks, would definitely recommend.

There was barely anything to see

Took my kids on this hike 10,9, and 5). We had a great time!

This is our favorite little waterfall hike! Short hike to Blue Hen Falls (perfect for our 5 and 2.5 year old), and so much to explore and do!

Easy little hike, awesome scenery especially with the fall colors and after a rain, you can do the South Gorge trail but 1 of the bridges is closed so it's not a loop, just take the Rim Trail instead to create the loop.

I got there right before the sun was setting. I hiked down to falls and got some good pictures. Then I wanted to hike down to Old Mans Cave. But I only made it a 1 1/2 mike & then I turned around, it was dark by that time. IT WAS SUPER SCARY,DARK. I’ll be back I really enjoyed the scenery. Especially during fall

10 deer!

Did all trails today, Very strenuous hills, whoever made trails did not know how to make a switchback! This is Not a loop trail, it is several trails to equal the six miles! The lakes are nice and picturesque!

This is a quick, easy hike and it is nice to be able to get up close to the waterfall. I arrived a little after 1100 on a weekday and was able to have the view to myself for the most part.

Halfway through the Caldwell/fire tower trail and the trail just stops, completely lost to logging in the area; other 2 trails were decent but not marked at all.

Ample parking. Bathrooms at the parking lot. Well marked and easy accessibly trail, very quick hike that would be good for children and beginners. Falls are pretty with several cute walking bridges. SOOOO crowded. Would not go on a weekend again.

It was a great hike. Very peaceful. Despite there being a large crowd in the area for the street fair in Yellow Springs, I was alone on my hike the majority of the time.

Beautiful area with easy access. Very busy weekend, but still worth the visit.

this was a beautiful trail to walk! Just remember to bring cash for parking in the lot- there is a box there for collection.

Beautiful trail, very peaceful! Trails are not marked very well, but this trail app really helped!
