Great trail! The book of hikes we have said this was a 9.5 mile trail, and it was definitely at least 13.1 (I turned off my tracker for a sandwich break and forgot to restart for about 1/4 mile). Lots of water sources if you have a filter!

Nice, well-marked trail, with lots of ups and downs, through attractive woods and some cool rock formations. A bit muddy in spots and several stream crossings. And some stretches beside roads and ATV trails. Very few people on the trail with us. Lots of lovely early spring flowers popping out everywhere. A good tough long hike.

Beautiful day all to myself. A little muddy in some spots but not bad at all. Stream crossings were pretty easy today.

HikingGreat!

Started around 1:50pm ended 8:20pm did not stop much. A Hoodie, two bottles of water, phone and my bestie. Water crossings are fun to figure out, note to self next time extra socks. Was interesting last 90 min in the dark. I can feel my gluts today! It is an epic hike quiet, beautiful, serene, peaceful nature. Would have been cool to camp out, but our Airbnb has a hot tub! Will remember forever.

Okay trail. Good chunk is blocked off for reforestation. That will put you on the forest road for a little over a mile. Camp two is poorly marked. Camp 3 at Boy Scout camp is no bueno. Find a nice stealth spot past there. No water for about 6 miles on the ridge line so fill up prior to. If going counter clockwise fill up at river before climb

BackpackingGreat!MuddySnow

Completed on Feb 6-7 with a little snow in the morning of the 7th. A good trail, 18 mile loop is perfect for a one night backpacking trip. Trail was muddy in places and there's a creek crossing that was about 5 inches deep. If you're prepared with good waterproof boots and hiking poles, it's very enjoyable. Water was plentiful (due to snow runoff perhaps?) but advice from the forest service says not to use it due to heavy metals from mining operations. We packed in most of our water, but chose to filter/boil a small amount for dinner, mostly due to it likely being surface runoff since other reviews mentioned how dry it typically is. Caching some water at Paddle Creek Horse Camp is a good option if I were to do it in dryer conditions.

Overall a great trail with beautiful scenery the storm that came in the night before made the trail extremely wet and slippery and the creeks that had to be crossed were high

Water can be scarce, to say the least. The river at the north end is a reliable source, but plan ahead for this loop if you're planning multiple days. A very beautiful and challenging trail to an experienced and well planned hiker; and an unforgiving, exhausting, dry place to the unprepared.

A nice overnight, though the trail was extremely muddy. I had planned to do a 3 day 2 night trip including the Scenic River & Greenwood Trail, but the trail was so muddy I only did the one night. The Irish Natural Bridge was cool too see as well as the two rock overhangs (they're called "caves" but I wouldn't really call them that). A lot of rock features and other things - a very typical south eastern Ohio topology.

The last leg of the trail, if going counter clockwise, ends in the the lake according to AllTrails. Ignore that and follow the orange blazes out to the road or, take the bridal Trail down to the road which is better in my opinion because there’s less road walking back to the parking lot. Total trail distance is 24 miles to 26 miles depending on where you exit on the road, not 18 as noted on AllTrails

It had rained in the previous days and a bit during, so the trail was muddy in places. The creeks were swollen, and the stream crossing next to Upper Archers Fork Road (Township Road 36) was over my knees (I'm 6'3"). There's supposed to be an easier too cross spot about 50 yards/meters up stream, but I didn't see it. I didn't see any hunters (it's only bow and muzzleloader season at the moment) but it's a good idea to wear orange at this time of year in the Wayne.
