great drive! a few hairy climbs that are washed out. when I did it on 1/8 you needed 4wd engaged. I had no issues in my 4runner

An easy trail with one way traffic only. Driving with relax.

Great trails overall. There's something for everyone. Nothing too extreme but there are sections that'll definitely test you. A great place to practice your off-road skills. Best during winter/ spring time.

Really amazing drive, my friend in a RWD Tacoma made it with no problems, highly recommend this trail to beginners

lots of fun, get better and better in the second half of the trail. There are some challenging side trails along the way, but u can just stay in the main trail for a “ smooth” ride too.

Easy with 35's. If you can get over the first hump without scraping, you should be ok. Nice and short for the wife, with great scenic views 1/2 way.

Very rewarding experience once you get to the top no matter what vehicle you take there. It could be extremely easy and difficult at the same time -depending on what trails you go go for - which makes it perfect either for a 4x2 with good clearance or a heavily modified 4x4.

Cleghorn is awesome all year round. We have seen the most beautiful sunsets here! You can make the trip as easy or as difficult as you'd like. There are so many trails to take, flexing to be had. We have done "the no point of return trail" and it is freakin' intense. I do not recommend it unless you enjoy pooping your pants. :P
It is best to go week days and make sure to catch the beautiful sunset.

Managed this trail in my stock Wrangler Sahara. Definitely worthy of the hard rating. Also the tip about going south to north is accurate. There are a couple of gnarly descents at the end. But overall this is a beautiful trail with lots of fun obstacles.

Lot's of fun on this one! With recent snowfall keeping dust down and beautiful clear skies, we couldn't have asked for a more pleasant day!

Excellant challenging trail with great scenery. I've done this trail more than 5 times now. Every winter it changes. Last spring (2018) was the most challenging. I have a FJ Cruiser 3" lift 10K winch full set of Skids and rock sliders. ARB locker and ATRAC. This trail will show what upgrades you need for your Rig.

My first time going to this trail in my 3rd gen Tacoma 4x4 and loved the whole trail to the end! I made it through in just 2wd. I was on the main trail the whole time. I have a 3 inch lift on 33’s and made it through with no issues.

Great views, awesome trails!
Perfect trail for all enthusiasts. Drove up with my 09 4runner (2.5 inch lift, 32's) and my brothers stock 2013 Jeep Wrangler 4dr. Did the majority of the offshoots besides "the point of no return" trail (need sliders atleast). Had no problem completing the rest of the trail. A good spotter will help alot if you are not comfortable in some sections. Also be aware of not blocking the fire road for vehicles that just want to pass by.

Great trail with awesome lake views. Some areas with a bit of technicality but nothing crazy. Options for very technical trails offshoot but if you stay on the main road it’ll be a fairly easy trek. Definitely coming back!

Easy Drive, easier walk from the parking spot to Fonts Point, fantastic views of the Badlands from there!
Well worth the 4 mile drive once in the wash. Just be sure to stay on the driven road and you will be fine. I drove my 2WD Ram while my friend drove his Scion XB and we had no problem getting up and back.

Great trail with incredible views at the top. The stairs alot of fun and looks harder than they actually are, we took a Jeep Rubicon and had no problem.

My wife and I did it with our new Mahindra Roxor! Great Fun! The “Steps” can be a bit intimidating but keeping a level-head will get you up and down just fine. My wife, Dora is a newbie and she drove most of the way! Our new Roxor is amazing!!! We highly recommend Both!

Great trail. Lots of choices once you get up there with more difficult options if you choose to take them. Otherwise it's a pretty simple road with a lot of great views

This a great trail for beginners off road. It’s easy to moderate I used my 2018 F150 did not use 4WD was 2WD the whole way. There’s a few areas if you want to go hard with 4WD. Make sure you have good clearance in a few areas but otherwise great trail good views.

Went through this trail a few times already. Great, close to home, trail. Rangers show up on busy days to warn or look for people driving on unmarked paths/off shoots. Some off shoots are intimidating and still working up the confidence to run through them.

Not very difficult, but fun trail. I did this trail from Rowher to Bouquet several times. First time was around 2011 in a 2009 4x4 Tacoma long bed with a 6" lift on 33's. Never shifted out of 2wd high. Did the trail again with my ex in her stock, 2012 VW Tiguan FWD on street tires. I made it over fine, but there were a couple of areas where taking the right path was key. Also, momentum helped to get through a few parts. The last time I did the trail was 2 weeks ago in my stock 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 4x4 diesel, but did not need 4wd at all. I chose to take the steepest way down to the Bouquet and I put it in 4wd low to let the engine do the braking. I agree it is much easier going south to north, but a stock 4x4 is not required. The fwd Tiguan made it over the mountain just fine.

Awesome off roading adventure from when you make a right into fish creek wash 4 miles into the wash we stopped and took the 1 mile hike up to the wind caves then drove about 7 miles more to get to sandstone canyon. The road into sandstone canyon is a bit narrow but fun I saw Jeeps, Tacomas and Colorado's driving through it with no problem. I highly recommend this trail. Great trail for pictures.

Super fun! Went out very early in the morning and witnessed the change in colors with the sunrise! Definitely it is a great experience to do it in a four by four vehicle. Jeep is a great choice for this!
