really good I love it.

I enjoyed this hike but it really kicked my ass! I’m out of shape and my husband (who has done this before) pushed me, he got told off several times LOL, but once I made it to the top I could see why!! The trail starts off relatively easy but the higher up I got the steeper it got too. The trail is paved for the most part and you have good views from the top.

This is trail information from/to the second waterfall (passing the first waterfall). There are as many as 10 waterfalls I read but we were just interested in the second waterfall. Super muddy. Trail is hard to follow as the markers change colors but we used pink in the beginning and green towards the waterfalls (descending the mountainside). The waterfall was trickling as the weather has been kinda dry this weekend. Slippery and muddy in some areas but definitely a hike for most peoples and some four legged friends. Be careful crossing the freeway!

My family absolutely enjoyed this trail. We followed others directions by staying left at each split and made it to the ruins quickly. It was beautiful to see such history. We then made our way back to the main trail near the entrance and kept right at the first split to make it to the waterfalls. When we hit the big banyan tree, we almost turned back due to not knowing which way to go. The trail continues to the left of the concrete and there is a big pipe to cross over. It was very muddy, but we were very careful. We seen the two waterfalls and they were flowing nicely!

Aloha! I typically hike up 1-3 times a week for almost 3 years now. Went up 7 times in the last 13 days. I will be going again tomorrow on Monday, other weekdays this week and this upcoming weekend as well. I have probably done this particular hike more than anyone else on island. (over 100+ times) It is often windy and/or rainy but we never have issues as we always have the right gear (including microspikes and gloves) which are supplied by me when we go. If you're looking to hike and want to link up or get some ideas of what this trail looks like feel free to reach out to me on my Instagram @mike.karas or mikekarasphotography@gmail.com. Bring plenty of water for this hike and other hikes out here in Hawaii.

One of best hikes on island. Very well marked. Elevation gain is real. The ropes help but definitely underestimated at first.

My husband, dog, and I really enjoyed this trail. Parked by the theater and walked through the pet cemetery (not along the road). We went counterclockwise, so the steep part was out of the way at the beginning. The views were good, and we were the only ones on the trail. The beehives were easily avoidable except for one, and we just patiently waited for them to do their thing. We enjoyed this one more than Aiea and Pupukea.

The last few rope sections were muddy and somewhat sketchy. Otherwise, a very fun hike.

This was one of those trails where you think you’re gonna be done 800 times but it’s never ending. It’s super slippery. Lot of rope climbing. My watch recorded that it was over 5.2 miles. This hike took a total of 8.5 hours (there and back). So bring a lot of water and leave early. P.S there are wild boars within the first 2.5 miles of the trail. Be careful. Stairs are amazing but honestly if I ever go again it’ll be illegally cause that hike is not worth it!

I'm just coming down from the trail January 19 2019... the hike up there was amazing, it had awesome views but unfortunately it was very cloudy at the top. if you plan to do this hike obviously like any other be careful, there are some sketchy spots but hold on tight and look at every step you take. The stairs are a beating but worth it!!

Great for Beginners and people looking for a nice trail for fellowship.

Lots of mud and shade. Will be back to look for the Plane Wreckage.

We entered from Koolau Golf Course. Muddy but fairly easy and short hike to the falls. If you continue up instead of going to the falls, you will end up on Old Pali Road that can take you up to the Pali Lookout... If you want to go that far. If you want to do that, when you get to a T, go left, then when it looks like you can go left or right, go right, hugging the mountain and you will shortly end up on the road. you can see the road below when you are supposed to take the right hand trail. Be prepared for rain and use mosquito repellant.

Wow that was hard but also amazing!

Awesome trail. Not very challenging, just long. The further portions of the trail can get pretty muddy and slippery, but the view at the end is worth it.

Another great hike in Oahu. I wouldn't recommend it after rain because some sections of the trail are very narrow and may get dangerous when slippery. Other than that well worth it hike with nice views.

Wasn’t marked very well. The all trails map saved us!!

Great trail! Some stone ruins at the bottom and good views along the way—once you get out of the valley. The first time I did this I got eaten alive by mosquitoes even though the stream bed looked dry. The valley stretch is quite long so that was pretty miserable. Second time I did it there were no bugs so ymmv but bring something to keep from getting bit!

Got rained out just before the peak. It was very overgrown at parts with tons of ferns. Pretty standard ridge trail, just longer than average.

The first half of this trail is a little boring but it does get more interesting after the “official” end. It’s a neat one to take people on though because it does show different plants, etc. I’ve seen smaller dogs do this one all the way to the peak! There are ropes at parts for the humans :)

Long!! But worth it. I saw some people with their dog up at the very peak, but I don’t know if most dogs could do this one. The view from the top is very different from most KST ridge trails because you can see all down the spine of the mountain and all the ridges branching off of it. really something else.

Quite a ridge, great views...more. than steady incline.

The path past end of trail is quite intense. The ridge is less than 24" and there are 8-10 ropes for technical climbs. Recommend crampons and gloves.

This trail is rated appropriately taking it all the way to Mt Olympus.

I've been going every weekend. it's been pretty clear up top the last few times I went. I have done this hike many times. If you want to avoid getting fined/arrested I will be going up this weekend this legal backway. I have some clean up to do up there. In my opinion going up the stairs all the way gets boring, the backway is more of an adventure and there are better views. It can get pretty muddy and windy. Crampons(spikes) recommended, I do have some spare spikes.
If interested send me a message on instagram @angelo_q or email me at chicolo@hotmail.com for details. Make sure to bring plenty of water and food

Brief trail, great views. The first time I went I accidentally missed the puka (walked right over it—when you reach the tall rock face you need to u-turn left and head down to the next level to see it) and went up to the next peak instead. If you are comfortable with ropes and heights that’s not a bad add on to this trail.

Be aware of falling rocks!

Only a spot view, not a hike! But is a nice place to see..

Aloha, planning to hike this trail after Eminem concert next month. Shooting for February 16 or 17. Looking for experience hiking buddies to do it with us. Beer and dinner on me after! DM me on my IG @ mytravellovebug

Hi ! I would like to do this hike tomorrow, I’m in Hawaii with my friends but they don’t really want to go because of the difficulty of this hike. So if you want to do it with a French hiker contact me on Instagram : theo_mrc
