Not requiring too much physical condition.

Beautiful view of New York and the George Washington Bridge. Would not recommend talking kids or dogs. Rocky trial

Trail is easy and flat. Pics are misleading. The map ends in Ossining. The water spill is another 4 miles past the end of the trail on this app.

Lots of roots, trunks to climb over, rocks and mud

Be sure you have the correct trail map for this park! It should show a large loop featuring Green—>Blue/Teal—>Blue (a long Yellow and Red/White trail should be on the map, too). There is another map showing as “current” online and it does not have the correct markings.

Anyhoo, I did that Green/Teal/Blue loop mentioned above along with a quick diversion down the White Trail to see the waterfall. Came in a little over 6 miles (I parked at the Weis Center, so some of that was also the walk to the car).

I’d consider this trail fairly untrafficked—I usually only pass one or two people at the most, but I’ve also never gone on weekends.

Doing the loop as I do, starting at the Weis Center and going down the green path first, you come to a steep, pretty killer incline about halfway through. There are also a few spots with some scrambling required over rocks—I even had to lift my dog up one part! Otherwise I’d more list this trail as moderate rather than difficult.

Lucky for me, I live 1/3 of a mile from an access point. I can take the trail from my house to Woodbury and back for a 24 mile ride with only a few road crossings and lots of shaded trail. Best done on a weekday.

Nice trail with several side trails to walk along. You have the option to make the hike as short of as long as you would like.

I did the Cold Spring Harbor portion on some random October day. It was awesome! This part is hilly, so be prepared!

Beautiful trail. A decent workout, but not too challenging if you want to just enjoy yourself. Really enjoyed it and will take the dog along next time.

Yesterday was amazing I didn’t even know this trail was that long! I was able to see wild rabbits, ducks, geese and more! I love nature and the outdoors. I’m so proud of myself over 15 miles!!

It is a pretty long trail but I thought it was fairly easy. The terrain is pretty consistent (a little uneven). I didn't expect that it was so close to the parkway but with some headphones it was fine. The view were amazing especially if you were bold enough to venture off to the side paths. The stairs were pretty killer though. I did the long trail going and the scenic/shore trail back.

Best hike we’ve done in awhile. Don’t just do the map loop above. If you do you’ll miss the views. Make sure to get on the Highpoint Trail so you can see NYC and some other 360 degree amazing views. Didn’t see any other hikers yesterday. Also no one was collecting $10.

Great beautiful park. Lots of bike traffic and some automobiles traffic too.

Nice views at the top and you can see Manhattan. A couple spots were not marked great but all in all it was easy to follow. We saw a black snake, probably 5 feet long. Scared the

Super easy flat paved trail. Lots of shade. Very well maintained.

nice path and some good views. A little too close to highway, would have been nice if trail ran along ledge.

Beautiful water fall/dam worth seeing . Park like any other state park. Loud music, BBQ nothing special.

Well marked, clean and clear and bonus of free parking by the preserve. Only did three miles this time but will be returning to go further.

Great scenic path. Fun for the whole family.

Hiked the pink loop off the red on white blazed trail off Snake Den Rd west. 2 good view points toward the east with views of NYC.

Fun easy biking trail

Good for a NJ trail, with a good view at the top. Only one tricky part, rest is very easy. Scenery constantly changes, which is nice. Rating should change to moderate.

Also went in April and didn't have to pay an entry fee. Not sure if that's always the case

Rode it this past Sunday mid-morning with my 14 year old son. We started at the nothern most parking (which has space for 6 cars + 1 handicap spot). We rode to Sunrise Highway and back, about 20 miles round trip. As it got later in the morning, the path became more crowded mostly with pedestrians toward the southern end of the route. Similar to the Vanderbilt path, there were pedestrians and cyclists with ear plugs or headphones. Some cyclists were inexperienced on paths; stopping in the middle, pulling off to the left without looking behind...
All in all the path is nicely paved and is best for cycling in the morning on weekends, or possibly more times on weekdays.

I rode this path yesterday and enjoyed every twist, turn, incline and bump. It was an easy paved ride and I look forward to doing it again soon.

I was directed to park at the Fort Lee historical museum. I did not see signs to the Long Trail from where I parked.

First time .. a nice challenging experience!

great views
