Have only briefly walked on this trail, but followed advice from neighbors and friends to not walk trail alone. Heading north into Downtown Durham can get rough on the path.

Pretty rad trail. Challenging for new riders. Plenty of jumps, rocks, roots, logs and other obstacles

Great Trail. No streets. Paved or good gravel. Lots of trees for shade. love it.

Took my two pups with me and the people were VERY rude. Not a bad place to go when not busy but definitely don’t see myself going again. I have two lab mixes and it was their first time and honestly can’t imagine taking them to such a hostile environment again!

I can only comment on the trailhead on White Oak Church Road down to the south end in JordanLake Game lands. I rode my bike down and back by myself and felt comfortable. Nice ride, as others have stated, bring your own water. There’s no way I would ride north on the trail by myself into Durham.

This trail runs from downtown Durham through the Getto. The drug dealers, the drunk people peeing on the sides of the path to the gang of thugs We had to turn back. Please google this trail before starting it. I think that t was a good idea when it was planned but not anymore. Truly take a big dog or a gun do not hike this trail alone Or better yet not at all!

This is really more of a mountain biking trail. There's a couple of walking trails, but if you want to get back in to the woods, you're on bike trails. Which is fine, if you don't mind stepping out of the way of the bikers. It definitely a sweet place to bike, though.

Also, there is nothing hard about this trail. Very manageable for someone of any aptitude. My dog enjoyed it too!

I did the Muir Natural Trail, but I couldn't find that exact one on the app. It's a nice, short hike. Very clean. The only thing is that it seems to be more a mountain bike area. The hiking trail is separate, but there are some areas of overlap. Beautiful area. I'd definitely go back to check out more of the hiking trails.

Well-maintained and well kept. The southern restroom is clean but waterless. The other restrooms are much better. Great ride for the family. Gets more crowded as you head north but what do you expect for free?

Good for running, but views aren't anything special (there are better trails in the park) and crowded.

Very crowded. If you time it right it's perfect to get in some great mileage for stamina.

I've only been on the more urban sections so I found this trail very crowded. Lots of bikers so not recommended for dogs. Not very quiet and peaceful but good for local exercise.

This is a great trail for conditioning yourself before hiking longer trails.

More vertical and more bike and foot traffic than I would have liked.

Nice, but a lot of people. Even in the winter.

We have only completed a relatively small urban section of the trail at its northern end. In addition to getting some exercise, we also enjoyed exploring the restored American Tobacco Historic District before ending with a nice meal and a show at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Not a bad way to spend a few hours!

I'm on the north side of the trail, and u hear the south side is better. it's still beautifu, great for walking, and lots of people. I get uneasy in some parts though.

I am fortunate to live near the entrance to the American Tobacco Trail that is at the 7 mile marker so it is about a 15-mile round trip whether I go north to downtown Durham or south into Chatham county.

The northern section of the trail from downtown to the I-40 bridge is more urban and has roughly 10-11 street crossings which makes for unwanted stops for cyclists.

The southern section from the I-40 bridge at SouthPointe mall to New Hope Church Rd in Morrisville/Chatham is more woodsy. It's a great ride with about 4-5 crossings and at least three areas with water/restroom facilities.

Solid dog walking trail, but pretty practical in terms of scenery. Would go to have a walk and talk

I hiked with my wife and three kids...they just loved it. Trails are properly marked to enhance the experience. Definitely I will come back to do the other loops.

Good trail. My 11 and 9 year old loved it. My 3 year finished by himself, but he was ready for a nap by the end of the trail.

This place is great. Family friendly and fun to walk, run, or bike. There is very easy route around the perimeter of the lake that is just under a mile. It's beautiful to look at. Run it twice for a good daily run. If you want to follow the bike trails make sure you bring water and wear bug spray.

It was like an interstate hwy. No curves, hills or different scenery. Maybe I'm use to the Neuse River Trail which is awesome!

I have used this trail a fair number of times over more than 10 years. It is an excellent trail for running and is well used by local runners. The best portion is the southernmost section in Wake County, which remains unpaved. Here the trail is wide and presents a smooth well-drained hard-packed surface. The trail goes mostly through woodlands, some parts of which are protected as state game reserves. Quarter-mile splits are accurately marked. Restrooms are provided at several trailheads,
